Didn’t read. Use what you have on hand. Ideally, a shotgun, a pistol, and a rifle would cover your bases quite nicely. Any one of those is sufficient by itself for home defense. I am a fan of shotguns. You will want more, but don’t go following some shitty shopping list. Do your own research. Buy whatever gun fits you, your budget, and allows you to shoot well.
Not really. You should start out with something that has cheap and easy to find ammo. Depending on the year that's impossible. That all started with 22lr being hoarded by homosexuals, once in a while you'll see them post pallet loads of it on reddit sitting in their basement, they wanted to resell it and israelite everyone else. Cheap milsurp is all drying up too. If you have no guns 1 gun is probably better than zero.

Also you need 2 concealed carry pistols or more because in case you actually use it'll be confiscated by the pigs and then you're left without a pistol until you buy a new one. Just have at least one spare.

6. Handgun for wifey
I live in FL and concealed carry a full size USP with no issue. you don't need a compact gun to effectively conceal. literally don't be fat and you can have a full size duty gun on you at all times
$100k today isn't really shooting for the stars, that's like making $57k in 1999. Not achievable if you're digging ditches, but for an office job or trade it is. You can be making good money in 5-10 years if you play it smart or just get the right degree or qualifications.
Pic related is comparing real life to zoomer expectations of mid career salaries. $100k is not that much, especially depending on where you live.

6 guns is a bit much. Never understood the car gun thing if you have a CC already. CC is also good for bedroom defense. I have a 8 guns but only 3 are essential. CC, AR for riots, and a deer rifle. My girl refuses to carry.
>Never understood the car gun thing if you have a CC already
CC has to be smaller, and thus compromise on things like barrel length and capacity
Car gun can be a full size handgun with whatever accessories you might want to add to it, and you won’t have to worry about it not being comfortable to carry

Love to see how they are defining midcareer. I work with tons of payroll data and these are laughable medians. Most people in finance are spreadsheet analysts/clerks in non-finance focused companies or government and they make nowhere near $92,000 even if you just look at middle age workers. Maybe $72,000.
Most political science majors don't work in anything related to their major so I don't know how they determine that.
Computer science also seems ludicrous, there are a ton of lower paid IT b***h jobs filled by college grads.

pro-tip: you're the homosexual making this place worse, and if you can't recognize that then you should quite literally have a nice day.
No he wasn't. If you are a poor gay, you only need 3 guns.
1) Conceal Carry Handgun (get the biggest gun you can conceal. Depending on how big your local game is get the appropriate caliber. I.E. don't get a 9mm if you live in Alaska, don't get a 50ae Deagle if you live in Los Angeles.)
2) High velocity Semi-Auto rifle (5.56, 5.45, 300blk, 7.62 Nato/Rimmed/x39 etc.)
3) Pump Shotgun
These three guns can cover everything you will ever need. Practice with them learn them, be proficient with them. The shotgun can be loaded with birdshot or slugs for hunting and buckshot for home defense. The high velocity can be used for hunting smaller game (Yote, deer, hogs, etc.) The handgun can be used for EDC or a secondary firearm for hunting/larping. Get a good light and matching OWB and IWB for this gun/light combo.
Congrats, you are now well equipped for any possible scenario. If you want a 4th gun, I would recommend a 22lr. Your choice on Pistol or Rifle. This will be good for small game hunting (Squirrel, Ground Hog) and will allow you to have a cheap ammo fun plinking gun. The other 3 are more important though IMO.
>One dedicated car gun
Even aside from the fact that former car/truck guns are what atleast half of criminals use, I've never understood needing to keep one in your vehicle when you already (hopefully) have your carry pistol on you >One for your missus of whatever she wants, probably a small revolver
If she's been tricked into the airweight .38 meme, then actually take her out shooting with one along with a semi-auto subcompact for comparison. They're easy as hell to carry, but they've got a lot of felt recoil and aren't all that accurate if you don't train a considerable amount. I've shot subcompact .40's that shoot smoother than an airweight .38, it's just the trade off for getting something so frickin light.
Other than that he's got it just about right, although more is always better
>Thinks a shot gun is a good HD weapon >Thinks you needed a dedicated car gun when you're already CCing >Thinks a good gun for a girl is a tiny revolver
Ask me how I know he doesn't know shit about guns.
This is a blue board, please don't post your penis
Seriously though, if you're using 12 gauge slugs for home defense, you're literally fricking moronic.
Significantly harsher recoil than buckshot, doesn't have the spread that buckshot has, is less accurate than a rifle because your shotgun probably just has a bead sight, shotguns are generally longer than rifles which gimps your maneuverability, and you have the ammo capacity of a shotgun instead of a rifle or even a handgun. Other than a black powder musket, a shotgun loaded with slugs is the absolute worst gun for home defense.

Although I don't disagree with you, slugs having less spread than buckshot is pretty negligible as the buckshot pattern will be tight af at home defence distances. On the optics argument, I'd argue a bead sight is better than basic rifle BUIS that you'd get stock on an AR because of faster target acquisition and easier sight picture. If the implication was red dots, you can put a dot in most 'tactical' shotguns.

>slugs having less spread than buckshot is pretty negligible as the buckshot pattern will be tight af at home defence distances
It will be tight, but it will still be wider than a slug. >bead sight is better than basic rifle BUIS
If you're shooting shot, not if you're shooting a bullet. You need rear sights for accurate shooting. You'll probably hit a man sized target at close range, but why risk it?
Whatever you use, a red dot will make your HD gun a thousand times better.
>be you shooting an AR in your home at a violent intruder >massively overpenetrates through the intruder into your cardboard-tier walls >kills your wife >kills your kid >kills your dog >kills the neighbor's dog
There's a reason the shotgun is king, it doesn't expand an encounter into a fight with the entire neighborhood.
I mean, he's not really wrong for most parts if you consider that the advice was given to someone poor >shotgun for home defense
SBR would be better but shotgun is fine, and price difference is huge >car gun and concealed carry pistol
That would be usefull if you have a huge land of your own or go into the wild with your car a lot, and you consider threats like bears or mountain lions, not only other people. Also >Expensive cars are about impressing men, not women
The only thing he got 100% wrong is not the guns part. If i buy myself a car then it's a car for me, not other men or women. If I feel better cruising in the summer, blasting "Sweet dreams" with my miata rather than some accord, then i'm going to buy one. If you feel the need to buy anything to impress somebody, you either have some shitty social circle that you would be better off without, or you try too hard to gain approval from strangers
You need: >small pistol for summer CC >full size for winter/vehicle >backup pistol for when daily carry pistol is in an evidence locker >practical 1-200yd fighting rifle >practical/precision 2-800yd fighting rifle >practical hunting gun(s) of your choosing >plinkers >historically significant guns
And that's really about it. Unless they're well-versed in shotgun loads, they're not more useful tools for your average shooter than a rifle or pistol is.
No because if you start thinking about guns in terms of strictly what you "need," then the inevitable conclusion is that the most basic b***h 9mm block is good enough for just about everything. People who buy guns strictly because they feel like they need them don't actually like guns. You should buy guns because you want to buy guns.
Anyone who tells me what guns I “need” is as unqualified as the homosexuals who tell me I don’t need [insert scary gun].
If you want to be a sperg and cover all your bases, it goes as follows:
>.22 LR for varmints and plinking. >12 ga for anything. >5.56 or 7.62x39 “fighting carbine” for hogs and SHTF/boog LARPing. >full size rifle for big game and precision shooting (.308 for easy access of ammo.) >handgun for all practical defensive encounters (9mm for easy access of ammo and gun variety)
If you don’t min-max your hobby, and just think guns are cool, buy whatever you enjoy and can shoot well.
The average American won't even need a gun at all, and if they do, a doublestack 9mm handgun of any kind will be more than enough. I own way more than 6 guns myself but most people in the states aren't immediately at risk of being in a warzone and if they are they should be focused more on getting out of the warzone instead of getting guns.
>Simply make 100k/yr >And don't settle for less
Lol, can't wait to see all the neurosurgeons dog pile on this >Nuh uh bro, I make 100k/yr doing HVAC
lel
“Need” as in on the 1 in a trillion chance that in one lifetime you find yourself in all of these exceedingly unlikely scenarios, AND they are the extreme outlier exceptions to said scenarios where having a specific type of gun is appreciably better than having just any gun. It’s never gonna happen. If we are talking about need, the average person will be well-served with ONE firearm, of any kind. Having a gun is infinitely better than having no gun, and the difference between guns for X scenario is trivial compared to the difference between no gun and one gun.
Guns are fun, they are cool and interesting, and the autism over specs (I’m a spec sheet prostitute too) is nothing more than building a physical manifestation of a thought experiment.
In OPs pic, is there any reason your CC can’t also serve as the gun in your car? Does a home intruder give a shit that he’s being shot from a 9mm from a p365 or a 12 gauge from a shotgun? This makes literally no difference in 99.999999% of scenarios. And for the scenarios in which it does matter, there is extra ammunition in the magazine.
Either a self-indulgent narcissistic windbag, or an unmedicated schizophrenic.
You typed out three paragraphs and said basically nothing. Also, gay spacing.
The only universal guns everybody "needs" are a concealable handgun and a centerfire intermediate carbine. Beyond that everybody's requirements are different and trying to come up with a definitive list is stupid.
Shotguns are terrible for building clearing, long guns in general are. I'd take my handgun even over my SBR for home defense. I'd argue you really only need 2 guns since we have 1.5 stack handguns now. Just a handgun and a rifle, and it really doesn't matter what you get. When you become more of an enthusiast you can expand to more specific role guns, but understand they're just toys you're never going to use for your LARP fantasies.
No, this type of “you need such and such guns” posting does nothing but mislead people who are new to guns into running out and spending all their money on crap rather than buying one or two nice guns they actually want and practicing with them. What I suggest to newbies is to limit yourself to buying two guns per year: One for your birthday and one for Christmas. That was you have enough time to save up money and do thorough research so you can make informed purchases and determine what you actually need for your own situation rather than listening to frogposters on a Chinese cartoon forum. After doing that for a few years, you will have a nice little collection built up without feeling burnt out or like you neglected a gun because you never shot it enough before buying another one.
Are you that gay from /hgg/ who works ten hours a week as a towel monkey amd exclusively reads 40K books and spams "post physique" whenever someone calls you out for being a loser?
Well sure but most people are just starting out don’t have a ton of money to buy all the guns they want. I’m talking about how it’s a bad idea to rush out and buy shit like a cheap 22 or pump shotgun just because some anon said you “need” to have them. Ten years later you’ll wonder why you bought so much poverty-tier turkshit instead of one or two good guns. It’s why Glocks are the number one gun sold back to gun stores. People read online that the Glock 19 is THE obligatory CCW gun, so they rush out and buy them, but then realize that they hate them or didn’t actually need them as much as they thought they did. It’s always better to buy the guns you actually want rather than feeling like you should buy a gun out of obligation just to fill a hole in your collection.
Wrong and gay. You can fit all your firearms needs in 4 guns with authority and cover the whole spectrum of what you would ever realistically need to use them for in any given situation, whether it be hunting, operational duty, CC or home defense.
>.223 (AR-15 platform or AUG) for GP/SHTF/operating/combat >9mm (striker-fired polymer frame design) for CC/SD/sidearm >12ga for HD/breaching/hunting fowl/rabbits >.300 WM for big game/long range/target shooting/punching through lvl IV plates with tungsten slugs in minecraft/load development (literally the most versatile .30 cal option as you can load anything from (sub) .308 levels of powes to full powered magnum loads)

You only need two guns to do everything that needs to be done
>not an iver johnson
>one to kill Evangelicals
>one to kill Catholics

No. That poster is a tween that thinks he knows everything.
Anyone who tells me what guns I “need” is as unqualified as the homosexuals who tell me I don’t need [insert scary gun].
If you want to be a sperg and cover all your bases, it goes as follows:
>.22 LR for varmints and plinking.
>12 ga for anything.
>5.56 or 7.62x39 “fighting carbine” for hogs and SHTF/boog LARPing.
>full size rifle for big game and precision shooting (.308 for easy access of ammo.)
>handgun for all practical defensive encounters (9mm for easy access of ammo and gun variety)
If you don’t min-max your hobby, and just think guns are cool, buy whatever you enjoy and can shoot well.
The average American won't even need a gun at all, and if they do, a doublestack 9mm handgun of any kind will be more than enough. I own way more than 6 guns myself but most people in the states aren't immediately at risk of being in a warzone and if they are they should be focused more on getting out of the warzone instead of getting guns.
>but most people in the states aren't immediately at risk of being in a warzone
you should watch some world star
I'm not mentally ill and obsessed with Black folk like you
>Simply make 100k/yr
>And don't settle for less
Lol, can't wait to see all the neurosurgeons dog pile on this
>Nuh uh bro, I make 100k/yr doing HVAC

didn't even read your post but nice numbers

This entire time I have been avoiding shotguns because I have nowhere to shoot them.

I guess he was right
“Need” as in on the 1 in a trillion chance that in one lifetime you find yourself in all of these exceedingly unlikely scenarios, AND they are the extreme outlier exceptions to said scenarios where having a specific type of gun is appreciably better than having just any gun.
A man who types like you is not worth listening to. Fix yourself.
The frick? How do I type?
Either a self-indulgent narcissistic windbag, or an unmedicated schizophrenic.
You typed out three paragraphs and said basically nothing. Also, gay spacing.
Reading comprehension, you moronic Black person.
take meds
I don't need some other man telling me how to be one.
>No designated hot air balloon gun
You plebs will never make it
>he doesn't have a Type 99 loaded with tracers in case of biplanes
Why even bother
I have one of these and part of me wants to use the aircraft sights whenever some dumbass boomer flies his cessna too low over my house
Do it. You're not gonna hit shit anyway since you're meant to shoot at planes in volleys.
I mean some of these morons fly 50 feet over my house. I could hit them.
Is there any recorded instance of Arisakas actually shooting down a plane?
the Nipponese burned records and they don't snitch on themselves
>22 rifle
>22 pistol
>12g shotgun
>9 pistol
>AR-15
>308 bolt-action
I guess you set.
When you become more of an enthusiast you can expand to more specific role guns, but understand they're just toys you're never going to use for your LARP fantasies.
guaranteed whoever posted that is /noguns/ and lives with their parents
Are you that gay from /hgg/ who works ten hours a week as a towel monkey amd exclusively reads 40K books and spams "post physique" whenever someone calls you out for being a loser?
>he thinks only one gay from the Beretta general owns an LTT
I think that's pretty bad advice right now. If you want something and wait six months it might be off the table forever in the current climate.
It’s always better to buy the guns you actually want rather than feeling like you should buy a gun out of obligation just to fill a hole in your collection.
>putting a flash light on a pistol
Who even does this, it’s not like you’re going on a camping trip
lowest IQ post in the whole thread.
Why do I have to wait three months before working out?
>dedicated car gun
No.
Wrong and gay. You can fit all your firearms needs in 4 guns with authority and cover the whole spectrum of what you would ever realistically need to use them for in any given situation, whether it be hunting, operational duty, CC or home defense.
>.223 (AR-15 platform or AUG) for GP/SHTF/operating/combat
>9mm (striker-fired polymer frame design) for CC/SD/sidearm
>12ga for HD/breaching/hunting fowl/rabbits
>.300 WM for big game/long range/target shooting/punching through lvl IV plates with tungsten slugs in minecraft/load development (literally the most versatile .30 cal option as you can load anything from (sub) .308 levels of powes to full powered magnum loads)
That would have been way funnier if he used a different tank each time
No, You don't need guns.
You only need trust on your government official.
