They probably do, but it isn't going to last nearly as long as we hope. The russians will finish the war being the most capable (not technically, NATO will likely still hold an edge there) in doctrinal terms at waging modern industrial war. The US won't really have that due to internal problems, lack of manufacturing base, etc. and europe hasn't shown itself to be capable of waging modern war on their own since like 1982, or past that if you're being charitable.
>the nation resorting to forced conscription and de-mothballing tanks from the 1960s is going to become the "most capable [...] at waging modern industrial war"
this is what a copium overdose looks like
It's true that American industry is not what it used to be, but it is still several times larger than the completly dilapidated russian industry. For decades the only things Russia has been able to export are gas and prostitutes.
Does it even matter?

This is a level of performance completely incomprehensible to the rusgols.
Ukrainians use the NATO style of command, allowing their subordinates a considerable degree to autonomy and initiative. They lack the top-down rigidity of the Vatnik Barbarian.
Exactly. Even if at the top they're working with US staff to plan things, they also have an organization that can carry those things out without having to send generals to the front line.
This seems to confuse the Russians greatly. They can't seem to decide if the Ukrainians are lawless, commander-less bandits or some sort of genetically engineered bio-robots under direct 5G control. Maybe they just can't imagine a scenario where people know what they're fricking doing and actually want to do it.
The Russians can't imagine a command system that doesn't involve rigid obedience to MUH ORDERS.
It's why they'll always be outwitted by Ukrainians. Russian-Curly can come up with THE PLAN, but the Ukrainians simply change facts on the ground too quickly for Vatniks to keep up.
I dont buy this "NATO muppetiers planning everything". No american adviser (except this new AI chat bot, probably) could put together offensive military operation not involving aerial supremacy, having close to no air support at all actually.
And no Westerner would come up with the absolute madman plan of the two pronged counteroffensive. It was widely believed Ukraine was locked into a stalemate on the Donbas by the West.
Zelensky himself pushed for the counteroffensive, and when the West said, "It's not going to work", the Ukrainians simply went, "What if we did TWO counteroffensives?"
>And no Westerner would come up with the absolute madman plan of the two pronged counteroffensive
You're ignorant as frick. One of the maxims of western military tactics is "an attack on a single axis allows an effective defense across that axis".
From what I read, we originally only trained the Ukrainians on defense. It's why their offensive tactics are so bizarre to us. They lean more on the Eastern model of offensive warfare, albeit married to Western command style.
Of course NATO isnt planning everything, probably not even planning anything. However, having access to intelligence and assessments from the west (mainly US) is, in terms of a war between Ukraine and russia, like a litteral cheat code.
Because they actually have one, not a organized crime kleptocracy held over from Soviet times that's held in suspicion because of historical baggage, most recently the August Coup.
A lot, but not as much micromanaging as one might suppose.

But after 10 months of outright lies, wall-to-wall propaganda, bullying and deception from Nato pols etc etc.

I want every Natoid "volunteer" to be captured and executed and their severed heads to be dumped over the polish border.
I want the Germans to freeze. I want them to be plunged into Congo levels of poverty.
If the West gets obliterated and and all its cities get reduced to radiocative ash that would be a bonus.
You're a Communist, so reverting to Holodomor/Morgenthau Plan Redux is true to type. At least you're honest.
Russian propaganda is different depending on the audience it's aimed at.
For internal use and for audiences in non-white countries, it presents pozzya as this peaceful, multicultural, socially progressive empire with the enlightened tzar at the top. For the West, it depicts pozzya as this trad con paradies where women are women and men are man and gays know their place - as opposed to Western "degeneracy".
If you ask how it is possible to maintain both narratives at the same time, the answer is that very few people speak English, Russian and a thirdworlder language fluently enough at the same time to notice it.
In 2021, Ukraine ranks at least better than Mexico, just a little behind Philippine. While Russia ranks worse than Bolivia and PARAGUAY, for fricks sake.

Ever since 2014 (and to some extent before that) Ukraine has tried to learn things from western militaries. Russia on the other hand has continued to appoint top positions mainly on the basis of how good you are att sucking Putins wiener in order to make sure the military will never oppose him.
challenges tend to crack any rotten eggs
If Ukraine was as corrupt as Russia even after the lessons learned past 2014, it wouldn't have held up in February.
Only peacetime allows corruption to fester and expose itself, and I suspect that's a big reason the US is as effective as it is, and why Germany is as ineffective as it is.

it's funny, but anecdotally, I know of countless cases of Russians (and Armenians, Bulgarians, even some Greeks - but that's beside the point) ending up settled in Ukraine for whatever reason and becoming more Ukrainian than some Ukrainians. there's this mother of a friend of mine, originally from central Russia, married to a Ukrainian, lived in Ukraine for decades, still can barely speak Ukrainian, but hates Russia like you wouldn't believe, ever since 2014, and does what she can to help the struggle. people seem to get used to Ukrainian ways, the gist of them being that yes, the country's messed up, yes, there's corruption, but it's sorta on the right rack, and most importantly there are always multiple players involved, never a single party hegemony throughout, and that in turn allows for certain degree of freedom of action, let alone of opinion. as long as I can remember, opinions were always freely expressed and argued in Ukraine, starting from the level of park bench or apartment's kitchen and to national level in media, there was never a stifling 'best keep you mouth shut' atmosphere like in Russia, especially after 2014. I think that it's not an accident that the first maidan was a reaction to a killing of an outspoken journalist. the second maidan, when all is said and done, was about preventing Yanukovitch party from building the single-actor vertical hegemony with the support and along the lines of his Kremlin curators. I suppose some Russians grow accustomed to these fundamental differences and in that they are more Ukrainian than Russian.
now, I personally have not even heard, let alone met, those supposedly Russian Ukrainians, the ones who find life in Ukraine and its ways so deplorable so that they would rather Russian Federation take over and run the show. I mean, чтoбы чтo? (so that what?)
>now, I personally have not even heard, let alone met, those supposedly Russian Ukrainians
samegay here. ok, scratch that, I remembered one guy, originally from one of the Ukrainian towns close to the border, he lived in Russia for some time when I met him. for him it was about 'the 'merikans globohome trying to do Russian in', he was a nice fellow in a way, and not stupid, but he bought this narrative complete and argued his case passionately. he was also pretty impressed with North Korea and tried to convince me that it's all honey and peaches there, and all the talk of camps, famines and other madness is Western propaganda. he did not seem to have any practical objections to living in Ukraine, he just made more money in Russia from what I remember.
yeah, to conclude, don't have much first hand experience of people who just had to be part of Russia while still in Ukraine come hell or high water. anyone with at least a bit of sense just looks and sees. hell, many of those settled Russians still have relatives in Russian Federation, they visit, they see how it is there and compare. it was very illuminating back in the day to start from Krakow in Poland, and make a trip through Ukraine from West to East, stopping for a bit in smaller towns and villages and just checking out how people lived, how they built houses, how there run their communities. it did become shabbier and increasingly depressing in the Eastern areas, and upon crossing the border into Russia it was more dismal still. it was immediately apparent that people there just did not know how to live in a very basic, practical sense, I suspect that they didn't have the impulse to try and make their community a more liveable, nice place at all. I think this is related to that practicality of a good Ukrainian 'master-of-the-house' which the Russians like to ridicule, the inherent desire to keep your estate in order, running well - it's a generalisation of course, but in my opinion it's true. anyway, sensible people look and see. what does Russia have to offer? a chance of being part of 'something bigger, a huge fricking country that matters, which will show the whole world that We Can! Everyone is Scared of Us'? well, looks like this main sales pitch turned out to be a flop. and to support the shit-show, one has to give up even the minimally decent standard of living, the basic freedoms, blindly accept and peddle lies, give up the basic human dignity. no thanks. I mean, you want Ukraine? go for hearts and minds, build up the oblasts next to Ukraine into some Russian-vision-paradise showcase, with good transport, perfect amenities, great schools and medical, and no corruption to boot, people will make their choice. but this is not the Russian way.
quite a number of them moved, especially after 2014, when the rainclouds in Russia started getting heavier by the day. journalists, activists, lawyers. there's this analyst who's part of CIT, he even gives comments to Ukrainian online media outlets, speaking Ukrainian (his accents are all in the wrong places, but he's trying).
At a certain level, it becomes less about tactics and more about leadership. Napoleon wasn't out there personally adjusting each cannon or firing every gun (even though he was a well trained artillery officer), he simply understood his weapon systems, motivated the soldiers below him, promoted skilled people, put his armies in advantages situations, etc.. If this guys is any good, I'm sure it is the same.
Mostly because they actually train and trust their troops and give them the freedom to independently accomplish goals. You know. Western stuff.
Vs. the Russians having to literally send generals to the front to micromanage their circus until they lost about a dozen of them making the rest flee to the rear. So now you're faced with the current situation of a bunch of dudes on the front with no senior officers, no oversight, no idea what to do or how to accomplish it and the result is top down orders to "take field x" without context "whelp, better send another couple platoons to run across this field and die I guess."
no they don't lmao my mate went and volunteered for the foreign legion shite and came back and immediately said you have to wait days for permission to ask permission to do something, theres no operational freedom for NCOs or even junior officers whatsoever and the only reason why the autumn counter offensive succeeded is because russian soldiers were low due to the 6 month contracts being over. the war is two corrupt shitholes punching each other whilst being drunk and high on krokadil
The Ukrainians conducted the successful defense of multiple major cities (Kyiv especially), forced two major Phyrric Victories on the Russians (Mariupol and Severodonetsk), and launched two successful counteroffensives (Kharkiv, Kherson).
All the Russians do is charge into prepared defenses, and run away.
>The Ukrainians conducted the successful defense of multiple major cities
Like Kherson? Oh wait, that was the city that Russians have actually bothered to capture rather than just bypass it like they did with every other major city in the opening days. >(Kyiv especially)
You can't call something a "successful defense" when the city in question wasn't even contested. The Russians were never going to storm Kiev with just 50k troops. As evident by the lack of any attempt to assault the city, and their quick withdrawal from the region. Hell, they've barely even started bombing its electric grid until October. So assigning a reward for a battle that was never going to happen is disingenuous. >forced two major Phyrric Victories on the Russians (Mariupol
There was no large Russian formation that has been encircled and destroyed in Mariupol, like 36th ukrainian marine brigade. There was no large formation that has fully surrendered, like Azog did. Not sure why you call phyrric then. It may come as a shock to you, but refusing civilians to leave the city, using them as meatshields and outright murdering them in the basements does nothing to inflict "phyrric victory" against enemy. It does make the locals hate your guts for several generations though. >and Severodonetsk)
Severodonetsk was a strategic defeat for the ukrainians, ending in their complete rout. So much in fact that Zelensky was still in denial about holding the city for days after it had been abandoned. >and launched two successful counteroffensives (Kharkiv and Kherson)
They've captured a whole lot of empty space around Kharkov, and lost a shitload of troops in their attacks against Lyman. They've lost entire brigades in frontal attacks across empty steppe feeding into Russian artillery just to get within visual range of Kherson. Which the Russians then simply evacuated in perfect order and almost intact. Couple more "successes" like that and the ukraine might run out of adult males.

I think it's more that national identities evolve in response to geopolitics, and both Poland and Ukraine's identities have been significantly influenced by their sufferings under Russian imperialism, especially during the USSR. As such the previous conflicts they had, I.e ukraine being a victim of polish imperialism, have taken a position in the background of their national identities, whilst anti Russian histories take centre stage

Keep coping vatnik, You now have less than 10% of Ukrainian land captured(if we exclude Crimea and the separatist regions). Your economy is worthless,Your army is weak and you yourself are a subhuman
They're suffered massively compared to how much the russians were able to achieve, especially when considering they only committed around 200,000 men to an offensive against a country that has been handed 10,000 NATO trained men every year since 2014, along with billions of dollars in aid. That being said, we've yet to see anything of how this war will really play out beyond the obvious russian victory. Whether or not said victory will be costly is in question. The Ukies are living on borrowed time, financed by the american taxpayer.
>Why is the Ukrainian officer corps better than their Russian counterparts?
It helps that they receive some of the best intel from one of the biggest intel gathering sources in the world.
Information wins wars.
If you want a real answer, Ukraine has been completely reforming their military since 2014. They saw the Russians as a serious threat and have been actively working with NATO/American trainers to form a proper NCO corps. Here's an excellent article that describes the differences between Russian and Ukrainian military perspectives post-2014 https://www.thebulwark.com/i-commanded-u-s-army-europe-heres-what-i-saw-in-the-russian-and-ukrainian-armies/
We haven’t been training the Ukrainians in western military doctrine for 8 years. We have been training them for more than 15 years. We have had advisors on the ground and joint training exercises since 2007.
The biggest contributing factor IMO was the multinational joint commission and operation unifier. The Canadian (and Swedish) tutoring the higher echelons of the Ukrainian army in command and training was instrumental.
However, it would've been useless if it hadn't been for the Ukrainian ambitions and will to defend their country. The effort they put in to completely turn around their military doctrine was massive, both for politicians and officers.
They have better intelligence and communication thanks to USA, and they might also have less involvement from politicians and similar. Also they don't tend to be killed by Putin or Himars to the same extent as the Russians.
As I understand it, Zelensky largely lets the military run military affairs. He's content to be the voice of Ukraine while the military is its righteous fist.
It's generally less politicized than the Russian officer corps. Not to say there isn't any corruption or civilian meddling in the Ukrainian military, but at least your advancement isn't completely dependent on who your political patron is like in Russia, so there's still some room for meritocracy. It also helps that a lot of the fifth columns got outed in 2014, so the officers who were left had at least a modicum of integrity.
Its funny how bloodthirsty I've become.

The Russian command structure is such that most/all of the initiative flows downward. They tend to operate as reinforced battalions in their most basic organic combat unit, so this means everything is going through your Major or half-Colonel at the head of the formation. This is a bottleneck in any combat unit, bit it's especially bad in the rigid and outdated Russian military command and control. Officers at lower level have less responsibility and ability to impact the battlefield; as an example, very rarely can a section leader call in his own fire support. They can pass information up about the urgent need for artillery/tanks/mortars etc, but the CO and his staff need to approve and arrange anything that actually happens. All this is also exacerbated by the fact that the BTG is somewhat undersized for larger operations, but rather big and unwieldy for smaller actions. Coordinating between BTGs is messy, but they don't operate as effectively as the fundental combat unit of a major military should.
Basically officers are set up to fail in this system, and the corrupt and thuggish nature of the wider organization is the cherry on top of the shit Sunday.
>Born 26 July 1965 (age 57) >Novinki, Vladimir Oblast, Soviet Union (now Russia) >Syrskyi graduated from the Moscow Higher Military Command School, the Soviet Union’s leading higher military educational institution.
So let me get this straight. It wasn't enough that every major factory, dam, power station, every fricking railway track, anything even remotely worth a shit in your "country" was built by the Russians. It wasn't enough that every major city east of Dnepr has been founded and built by the Russians to begin with. It wasn't enough that half of your army have Russian last names. You're telling me that even your high command are basically just Russian renegades?
Mark Hertling talks about how the Ukrainians found their way in this article:

Russia doesn't have officers in the modern sense. they're just glorified messengers and whips from higher up.

>Why is the Ukrainian officer corps better than their Russian counterparts?
Because they were trained in the russian military schools/academies first, then got western training later between 2014 and 2022. They've literally got the enemy playbook and know the counters and the counters to the counters.
Ukrainian cadets got the ' best foreign cadet' award at Sandhurst for 2-3 years in a row immediately before the war. A Lt Colonel in a Ukie SF battalion interviewed was also apparently a west point graduate.
What I am saying is that many junior to mid officers have minimal exposure to the old Soviet model.
This is the wildest tree I've ever seen and I love it. Lemurs somehow evolved from Vietnamese and then re evolved into other orientals. Native Americans aren't even descendent from primates, they're tree shrews. Women, an entirely different subsection of humanity are evolved from stand Arabs. It's just such a deranged clusterfrick.
And yet everytime russia went 1vs1 with Poland they got bonked. Seems the mix of said traits is better than serfs getting raped by muslims they "conquered" not so long ago. True pottery.

Only with the help of the Kraut's. And collective decisions of the "West". Along with Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary and more. And yet again in the 70's they prolly averted WWIII , through the work of a man by the name Kukliński. He defected to the West with full invasion plan on Europe from the WP. From a historic point of view, the beginning of the end of the USSR. They put a lot of effort in USSR's downfall. After 2021, when Putin pushed Arabs through polish borders, he hoped for the same reaction on UA refugees, and further destabilizing UA with refugees from warzones. Peak number was about 3.5 milion. Now it's around 2. No wonder you people hatw them. Once again they helped made russia look stupid.
How much of this war is getting led directly by US advisors at this point, nu/k/?
Don't worry. All that the black NATO supersoldiers have to do is to raise their erection and Russia will immediately understand.
So you agree NATO has much better command than Russia?
They probably do, but it isn't going to last nearly as long as we hope. The russians will finish the war being the most capable (not technically, NATO will likely still hold an edge there) in doctrinal terms at waging modern industrial war. The US won't really have that due to internal problems, lack of manufacturing base, etc. and europe hasn't shown itself to be capable of waging modern war on their own since like 1982, or past that if you're being charitable.

You're ignorant as frick. One of the maxims of western military tactics is "an attack on a single axis allows an effective defense across that axis".
The Feints and coordinated HIMARS fire using us satellite intel is pretty sophisticated for ukies
What stage of death is this?
Grief? Acceptance? Bargaining?
i think denial
Denial.
Vatniks never acknowledge Ukrainians are better fighters than they are. Too much Imperial arrogance.

you do know Ukraine ranks about as high as Russia on the corruption index right?
Ukraine doesn't LARP as le based trad saviour of le white race, though.
>bait and switch
does russia?
russia loves their asians
Regardless,
>Two corrupt countries. One wants to work with me and my pals more closely. One is actively challenging and undermining my interests.
Not a difficult choice on who I help.
How about you look at modern rankings rather than at the times when Ukraine was under heavy rusoid influence?
>Church infested with communist security spooks since THE 1920s
Since the 1940s; Bolsheviks destroyed the church when they came to power, but Stalin restored ~~*the church*~~ to be staffed by NKVD during WW2 to boost morale
In interviews with journos in WAPO and NYT they'd complained about ukrainians doing reckless things without approval (e.g. the dugin strike), not filling them in on things, or not having taken russia seriously in the begining.

The irony, that many of the world's biggest communism shithole founders were israeli descent.
But god hates gays.
I don't know about that but I just want the uisraelites to lose.
So yeah, sure, they're doing God's work
Ever since 2014 (and to some extent before that) Ukraine has tried to learn things from western militaries.
Only peacetime allows corruption to fester and expose itself, and I suspect that's a big reason the US is as effective as it is, and why Germany is as ineffective as it is.
rumor is that being a russian officer is really bad for your health.its even worse for their generals but what could be the reason?
He never discuss his childhood but he was born in Bumfrickville of Vladimir oblast, which makes him Russian by birth. It appears he never steped in Ukraine untill after graduation from Moscow militaty school circa 1988.
If you want bonus irony points, Zelensky's first language is Russian. He couldn't even speak Ukrainian remotely well UNTIL the war happened. He's visibly struggling with the language in his first war speeches. Then he made a conscious effort to improve his command of Ukrainian.
It is pretty nutty watching the birth of a national identity in real time
>>the highest civilian leader and military leader of Ukraine are both Ethic Russian.
that's some grand irony here.
>the highest civilian leader
Zelensky isn't russian, he's a israelite (ethnically)
This might be a dumb question, but would prompt someone from a random oblast in Northwestern Russia, who couldn't be more divorced from Ukraine, culturally and ethnically, if you tried, to become a Ukrainian citizen and join their military? Let alone rise to their highest military rank?
>but would prompt someone from a random oblast in Northwestern Russia, who couldn't be more divorced from Ukraine, culturally and ethnically, if you tried, to become a Ukrainian citizen and join their military
he's a boomer from soviet times and soviet military shuffled their personnel around, after the USSR collapsed lots of people ended up wherever their assigned military base was
also vladimir oblast, being actually ethnically russian, isn't that detached from ukraine(as of 90s-early 00s); it's not like he's some buryat from siberia
>https://www.thebulwark.com/i-commanded-u-s-army-europe-heres-what-i-saw-in-the-russian-and-ukrainian-armies/
it's funny, but anecdotally, I know of countless cases of Russians (and Armenians, Bulgarians, even some Greeks - but that's beside the point) ending up settled in Ukraine for whatever reason and becoming more Ukrainian than some Ukrainians. there's this mother of a friend of mine, originally from central Russia, married to a Ukrainian, lived in Ukraine for decades, still can barely speak Ukrainian, but hates Russia like you wouldn't believe, ever since 2014, and does what she can to help the struggle. people seem to get used to Ukrainian ways, the gist of them being that yes, the country's messed up, yes, there's corruption, but it's sorta on the right rack, and most importantly there are always multiple players involved, never a single party hegemony throughout, and that in turn allows for certain degree of freedom of action, let alone of opinion. as long as I can remember, opinions were always freely expressed and argued in Ukraine, starting from the level of park bench or apartment's kitchen and to national level in media, there was never a stifling 'best keep you mouth shut' atmosphere like in Russia, especially after 2014.
So Ukraine is where a Russian goes if he no longer wishes to be Russian?
quite a number of them moved, especially after 2014, when the rainclouds in Russia started getting heavier by the day. journalists, activists, lawyers. there's this analyst who's part of CIT, he even gives comments to Ukrainian online media outlets, speaking Ukrainian (his accents are all in the wrong places, but he's trying).
>Pictured is the commander of Ukraine's Ground Forces, said to be a master tactician.
>master tactician
Sticking your men in advanced Western equipment and sending them into a meatgrinder doesn't require advanced tactical knowledge.
*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~))
Winchester, Virginia changed hands 72 times in four years. And?
Territories can always be retaken chud, cities can change hands during a war. But once you lose an army, you're done. Do you want to know which side is going through its umpteenth wave of mobilization while the other hasn't even fully deployed their first batch? There's your answer whose flag will wave over Kherson 250 years from now.
>Do you want to know which side is going through its umpteenth wave of mobilization
Russia, obviously. You're forgetting that they have regular, seasonal mobilisations and the last "partial" mobilisation has never really ended.
Ah yes, thanks for reminding they also conduct a seasonal *conscription*, completely unrelated to this *partial mobilization*, meaning that thus far they've barely even scractched the surface of their general manpower pool.
Coolio.
God I hope Ukrainians repeated this with poolacks
whatever you say, mate *~~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~~
You poolacks are nothing but filth. Enemy of poolacks is the friend of the white race

>they were the ones who destroyed the Soviet Union
huh?
They weren't even a part of it
poolacks fricked up UK America and PrepHole. They always side with the enemies of the white race and wewuz harder than Blacks. If you side with poolacks you are the enemy of the white race
Stfu commie
Poolacks are the commies. They are welfare queen's pushing for global communism. They are the most adamant defenders of WEF, and death penalty for holocaust denial
Are they LITERALLY WORSE THAN HITLER, though?
Yes they are. They were conducting a genocide of ethnic Germans in Danzig while blaming it on USSR. They are the worst people on this planet
>They were conducting a genocide of ethnic Germans in Danzig
I don't see where the problem is.
>Ukrainians are such swell people that despite being responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of israelites and Poles completely independent of the Holocaust, Poles and Israelis still love 'em
No, it's because poolacks are subhuman filth that decided ukrainians and orchestrated this war. They want to destroy ukranie and Russian Federation. They are using ukrainie government to fight their wars and they are using ukrainian civilians as meatshiels
I think it's more that national identities evolve in response to geopolitics, and both Poland and Ukraine's identities have been significantly influenced by their sufferings under Russian imperialism, especially during the USSR. As such the previous conflicts they had, I.e ukraine being a victim of polish imperialism, have taken a position in the background of their national identities, whilst anti Russian histories take centre stage
>they've barely even scractched the surface of their general manpower pool.
Is that why they're conscripting people with no upper age limit and scraping out the prisons?
Reminder that Russia has lost over 1 million men in the 18-40 age bracket who NOPEd the frick out of Russia when mobilisation was announced.
>And?
and this means Russia is less capable of capturing cities than some uppity planter class peons fighting uppity factory owner peons in the fricking 1800s
Keep coping vatnik, You now have less than 10% of Ukrainian land captured(if we exclude Crimea and the separatist regions). Your economy is worthless,Your army is weak and you yourself are a subhuman
Who controls Kherson now?
I do
They're suffered massively compared to how much the russians were able to achieve, especially when considering they only committed around 200,000 men to an offensive against a country that has been handed 10,000 NATO trained men every year since 2014, along with billions of dollars in aid. That being said, we've yet to see anything of how this war will really play out beyond the obvious russian victory. Whether or not said victory will be costly is in question. The Ukies are living on borrowed time, financed by the american taxpayer.
If I go to an auction and spend $1,000 to buy a $20 Walmart folding chair does that make me a genius businessman or a fool?
Russia lost the moment it stopped being a 2 week special operation
The real question is: what can we learn from the Ukrainians?
This is the closest thing to a peer-to-peer conflict we've seen in a long time, where both sides bring their full weight to bear on each other.
>What can we learn from the Ukrainians.
Never get into a war where your enemy is your peer in the first place.
>what can we learn from the Ukrainians
make sure you have no peers.
>Why is the Ukrainian officer corps better than their Russian counterparts?
It helps that they receive some of the best intel from one of the biggest intel gathering sources in the world.
Information wins wars.
NATO assistance, a genuine desire to reform, and the danger posed by Russia.
Put in layman's terms: "Villain Forgot To Level-Grind".
Excellent read, thank you anon.
RIP Vorobyov
thank you
We haven’t been training the Ukrainians in western military doctrine for 8 years.
The effort they put in to completely turn around their military doctrine was massive, both for politicians and officers.
great read, thanks
They have better intelligence and communication thanks to USA, and they might also have less involvement from politicians and similar. Also they don't tend to be killed by Putin or Himars to the same extent as the Russians.
As I understand it, Zelensky largely lets the military run military affairs. He's content to be the voice of Ukraine while the military is its righteous fist.
8 years of NATO training, along with Massive efforts to tackle corruption.

The Ukrainian officer corps has been fighting a near peer war since the early 2010s, The Russian corps hasn't.
Its not full of russians
It's generally less politicized than the Russian officer corps. Not to say there isn't any corruption or civilian meddling in the Ukrainian military, but at least your advancement isn't completely dependent on who your political patron is like in Russia, so there's still some room for meritocracy. It also helps that a lot of the fifth columns got outed in 2014, so the officers who were left had at least a modicum of integrity.
I'd tell (You). But, then, I'd have to kill (You).
Its funny how bloodthirsty I've become.
At the beginning of this war I was just hoping it would be over soon and that too many people would not get hurt.
But after 10 months of outright lies, wall-to-wall propaganda, bullying and deception from Nato pols etc etc.
Now I want every man, woman and child in Ukraine to die.
Thank you for sharing your fantasies, Rajneesh, now back to the call centre with you.
it's pretty funny how nafo pretends to be racist but won't admit if they're white or own a gun when asked
SIR! DO NOT REDEEM THE RACISM!
SIR!! RUSSIA HAS WON b***h BENCHOD YAH?!
What a pity russia lacks the capability to make any of that happen
>t. homosexual sovieticus
>Born 26 July 1965 (age 57)
>Novinki, Vladimir Oblast, Soviet Union (now Russia)
>Syrskyi graduated from the Moscow Higher Military Command School, the Soviet Union’s leading higher military educational institution.
I guess not even the Russians want to be a part of Russia anymore
The Russian foundational Myth is actually ukrainian history. Ukrainians come from vikings. The Russian nation evolved from mongol tax collection.
>the RUS
I'm pretty confident this statement is wrong
Ukraine is where Russians go if they want to be free.
Mark Hertling talks about how the Ukrainians found their way in this article:
https://www.thebulwark.com/i-commanded-u-s-army-europe-heres-what-i-saw-in-the-russian-and-ukrainian-armies/
it's worth a read.
Russia doesn't have officers in the modern sense. they're just glorified messengers and whips from higher up.
an army with a sense of autonomy is an army that can rebel. and Russia's mafia state can't have that.

Still long way to go to reach the "russian level" of being despised. I can't imagine, what would Poland have to pull off to reach that.

Man Stalin was a real clown wasn't he.
>Beating up post-war Russia after Germany tossed its salad.
Not even a Vatnik, but this isn't an accomplishment.
Serious answer? Because they have less to do, and can focus on what officers are supposed to instead of micromanaging their units.
As always, the Prussian model obliterates the totalitarian hypercentralized system.

The frick? I didn't put in that plebbit spacing...
Home field advantage + Russia had to have military play many roles while Ukrainian military solely exists to defend against Russian invasion.
I seem to be constantly late to a thread. it all starts with (mostly) bits of information being exchanged but by the time I notice the thread it usually deteriorates into /misc/-style shitshow. sad.
