You can say it but you're just a b***h.
Hornady is not the worst ammo manufacturer but for how well known and well regarded they are, they actually don't make a huge number of rounds that I really like.
>Critical Defense seems to have kinda mediocre penetration although admittedly I haven't seen a huge amount of data >Critical Duty is okay but expansion is uninspiring >.223 ELD rounds generally have shallower penetration, 88 gr may be an exception >.223 VMAX TAP rounds
why >SST, ELD-M, and ELD-X rounds in larger calibers are usually good, but anecdotal accounts might suggest that some bullets in those lines may be a little less consistent than desired >GMX is...fine, I guess >various assorted softpoints that aren't overly remarkable
Hornady produces a few bad items, a lot of stuff that ranges from mediocre to decent, and not that many outstanding loadings.
There also seems to be the odd report of bad ammo QC, Frontier obviously (although I recall this wasn't technically loaded by Hornady), but I've heard of popped primers from their main lines too.
I hear the superformance line is also popping primers still but then again it is marketed as being hotter than normal. When it first came out they had a warning on their website saying not to use it in gas guns.
>be hornady >sell "zombie ammo" as a euphemism for jogger defense >"zombie apocalypse" as a euphemism for nationwide Katrina riots
They really aren't all that bad.
I liked when it went out of style and then there was a glut of extremely cheap vmax ammo that just had a green plastic tip instead of red.

see stuff sitting on the shelves back in the daze. I scratch my head Hummm I should get some just for the BS factor and for shits and giggles, >Get distracted, oh theres my ammo turn and forget
recently see a box selling for $225
frick yah muddah
Zombie ammo was the best thing to ever happen to my reloading hobby. They sold off the bullets in bulk a few years ago and it was the only way to get 185gr JHPs with a cannelure. I still have around a thousand left.
Depends on what we're talking about.
Hornady pistol rounds are pretty trash, but they have good rifle rounds, and their 12 gauge CD is the second best 12 gauge defense load on the market.
Federal "tactical" flight control is better generally, but some shotguns might like the hornady more.
Rumor is the federal flite control was and the hornady versitight wad is the exact same, but the federal is copper plated, and low brass, so you're probably not getting as much pellet deformation.
I have a nice stash of 75 gr. TAP for my 11.5”. Would like to add some Black 77 gr. or even 62.
That’s what I’ve switched to after seeing how it patterns. What is #1 and why did you also select Federal LE FC?

I want to like the copper plated Winchester Defender but the pattern at 15+ yards is meh.
PPU makes worse defensive ammo but at least makes ammo for more obscure rounds. Tula ammo is objectively the worst ammo you can buy, it's only saving grace was cost but that's no longer the case anymore
Why is it hornady?
We can't say why or the jannys will get maaaaad

Dad?
Not OP but idk his reason.

>>.223 VMAX TAP rounds
>why
Human targets, no over-penetration but more fragmentation. perfect for home defense with an AR pistol
It's not. Hornady is very popular and reddit is trying to make people question their purchases.
On PrepHole? No
yes, on PrepHole. /k/ has become a haven for reddit tourists
vaccine mandate
expensive israeliteery

My answer is winchester white box anything
>he still thinks the zombie ammo wasn't just an unironic cringy meme
NewBlack person

They also support the Boers. Exceedingly based.
>glut of extremely cheap vmax ammo that just had a green plastic tip instead of red.
I regret not buying more tbh ne
>My answer is winchester white box anything
i bought 1000 rounds of this shit i didn't know it would be this bad
It's hit or miss, sometimes it's fine range ammo, sometimes it's dirty as shit and my gun is filled with unburnt powder.
i've shot 2 of 5 boxes and averaged about 5 dud rounds per box so far
I still have a box.
One of these days it will happen and noone else will be prepared
Or he can sell it like a Star Wars Wookie in the original packaging for some big bucks!

as long as they keep making 35 rem I'll give them a pass for everything else they have done.
Fricking this. Almost $4 per rnd where I can get it locally but new is new and I'm stocking up while I can.
Reload for frick sake. You will make your money back easily on stuff like 35.
I do, I just want as much brass as possible
Depends on what we're talking about.

CD? whose the best then?

Yes

It's remingturd actually
It's not Hornady.
I wish I had some zmax 223 for funsies.
Let me shoot you with this. My surrogate pp is only 2 inches.
that's a weird way of spelling remington.

Lehigh - your friendly neighborhood snake oil salesmen.
Hornady is easily the best ammo maker out there. OP is a massive homosexual.
