Is there any benefit to carrying either a taser or pepper gun if I already carry a handgun with me at all times?
Recently had a situation where a family memeber went apeshit while drunk and caused a lot of property damage at my brother's house. We called the police and he got tackled and arrested. He wasn't trying to hurt any person, just breaking shit in anger. Obviously not going to shoot him, but zapping his ass would have instantly made the situation way better while waiting for the cops.
Shitty tasers seem to all be garbage, pic related uses proprietary batteries that seem to fail and only last through one use, and the I don't want a full size taser that costs over 1k.

i just bought the pom one. less life saving than a gun but a lot more versatile
Honestly I think so. There are a lot of situations (if not most situations) where you don’t actually need or even want to really hurt the person. In the same time in situations like that you could just fight them hand to hand but it depends I guess idk. But yea pepper spray is cheap
I also want to say that I don’t like it when some people say “if I ever get in a fight I’ll just shoot them!” It’s a very childish, bitch bro, and immature thing to say.
I'm not going to start a fight, and if a stranger starts a fight with me I don't really care if they die or not. fair fights are for losers.
>Is there any benefit to carrying either a taser or pepper gun if I already carry a handgun with me at all times?
Gives you an option for resolving situations with less potential for legal issues afterwards.

Unless something has changed the only good options on the market are Taser brand, and they do come with the massive downside of realistically being too expensive to practice with unless you have taxpayers covering your practice costs while requiring you to aim well enough to hit with both probes. And yeah, anything after the old M26 police model (that used 8x AAs) has used proprietary batteries. Anything that requires direct contact is just a shittier knife, and knives are already a terrible option for self defense.
The batteries for the later models are just CR123s in a fancy housing. It's really too bad that there isn't a Taser available at a reasonable price though.
>there isn't a Taser available at a reasonable price though.
Have you seen the stock in tge last 2 yrs? Lucky I got in @$42/ea.
>and only last through one use,
The Pulse is MEANT for single use. It delivers a 30sec exposure vs. 5sec of the P26, X2, T7. You are ment to use, drop and run. File a police report and submit tor free replacement (last I knew).
>t. TASERed 4x ama
>Have you seen the stock in tge last 2 yrs? Lucky I got in @$42/ea.
???
Poking at $200/share. The profit margin on TASERs is ginormous. The body cams are, too. But the data storage (chain of custody) is pure gravy.
If you spray the wrong person, you just momentarily blind them and an assault charge
You shoot the wrong person, it's murder
I have an idea for a new pepperspray gun. Make it flamable so you blind and burn them all at once.

Answered your own question, anon. There is zero reason why someone shouldn’t have POM as part of their EDC. It fits in the coin pocket of your jeans, gives you a means to deescalate and control someone and gives you a huge advantage in court, if you do end up shooting them, because you can claim you tried your best to avoid a bullet. You can also spritz someone and walk away, something you can’t do with a gun, without copping a charge.
POM seems pretty effective, but anything with similar potency and portability is valid. I keep several in my bag and hand them out like candy any time self defense comes up.

You're actually a shill from the POM marketing department, aren't you.
Nta, but you are too cynical. Nonlethal defence/offense is valid.
>valid
Is your hair blue?
If you're asking if i give a flying fuck abt what you think, I don't.
I never asked that. Why do all you pronoun people assume people care about you?
Mind your own business and stop getting personal with strangers. It's weird.
Not as weird as the current social norms. I mean really, who says "latinx"?
Probably just mispronouncing LatrineX.
Is that like a chemical cleaner you drop inside?
I think you smoke it.
lol what are you on about
The state of normality is just odd. What is and is not acceptable is off kilter. Untold years of natural order turned upside down. Double think rules our lives. Kids can't even read an analogue clock and Roman numerals.
>Nonlethal defence/offense is valid.
I didn't say it wasn't, just that than anon specifically came off as a shill for the specific brand they were posting about. I personally prefer the Mace pocket units with the finger groove and flip cover rather than the rotating safety button that Sabre uses on a lot of their models. Only downside is that you need to check the labels since they sell multiple strengths without any indication on the packaging.
>check the labels
The 2 shown have the exact same parting lines from the exact same mould, likely filled at the exact same production line with different contents, formula and net weights. I figure they're all abt the same. Labels do show slight difference in active ingredient %s.
>The 2 shown
I'm talking about pic related that's sold in 3 finger and full 4 finger length models. As for the difference in strength, they have models with 1.4% capsaicinoids (comparable to Sabre Red) and .66% capsaicinoids marked on the can with no difference in the packaging they're sold in, which is a massive difference. I had to stop at a few different stores locally to find one that carried the 1.4% version.
>mentions POM twice because that’s what I carry
>”are you with their branding team???”
moron, I literally said any other OC spray of comparative potency is fine.
>Is there any benefit to carrying either a taser or pepper gun if I already carry a handgun with me at all times?
Yeah man, having an option between get in a fistfight and cap a moron is sensible. Especially given the current legal and political climate, you don't want to shoot someone unless it's absolutely necessary.
That said, if I only have space for a gun or non-lethal then I'll take the gun. If I'm wearing a winter jacket with big pockets I'll slip some pepper spray into one of them and I've got some spray sitting in my car.
Tasering/macing someone is lower impact than shooting them
It'll be harder for the cops to catch you.
Downside is that it might not actually incapacite them and now you've got a pissed off moron coming after you.
Spray them then taze them. Sets them on fire.
Never call the cops on your family. Are you white from an anglo background?
Tasers are an absolute meme for civilians, I have a taser pulse because I thought it was cool, I've carried it maybe twice. Pepper spray is absolutely a useful thing to have, especially if you aren't good at fighting or don't want to fight. There are plenty of physical threats that aren't deadly threats and the use case of pepper spray is a lot wider than a gun. No reason not to have a 15 dollar Pom in your front pocket.
That's fucked. What did he have to say when he sobered up? Bitch ass punk better have offered to pay for all that shit he broke.
OP here. It's was my brother's brother in law. Guy got drunk and cracked a car window and was kicking the car door and started throwing lawn chairs and shit. We tried to calm him down, but he was just too fucked up. Already ordered a can of mace and a belt holster and a pocket sized pom. Still not sure about the taser. Can't seem to think of a situation where I would tase the person, instead of just shooting them. I think mace would have been fine for this situation.
>stun gun
Just bring a rubber dildo, it will be more effective
>tazer
Expensive and not perfectly reliable. When it works, it works.
>spray
Idk, but it sucks to get sprayed with a lot. Personal experience. Don't use it lightly
>but zapping his ass
It's not non-lethal, just less-than-lethal.
It could still kill.
The proper response, as shown by the police, was to tackle him to the ground and restrain him.
Police has tasers too, if that was the appropriate response they'd have zapped him.
