>Join the Marines to use tanks
>Marines get rid of their tanks
>Told I have to join the Army as a private to use tanks again
>I love tanks but if I join the Army I will be in poverty
>Leave the US military to get a normal job
>Get an offer to join the German Heer
>They're going to triple the size of the Bundeswehr because of the Russians
>They want veterans from the US who speak German
>Massive signing bonus, free housing and 1.5 times my salary in the marines
>I can be a tanker again
>Spend 7 months moving to Germany and being trained in the Bundeswehr
>Oh by the way the Russian Army has collapsed
>We may not need you after all
>Depending on how the Bundestag votes recruiting you may have been illegal
>You're not an EU citizen so you'll be deported if you're discharged
I just wanted to crew tanks
Poland. They are expanding their fleet significantly.
>Cleaning the shit all day
>maybe for germans on visits
Win
go to ukraine then
I said tanks, not tin cans
they are all tin cans from below or above you dumbfrick.
>t.M1 tanker
>Oh by the way the Russian Army has collapsed
Maybe for now but Russia is still a geopolitical threat/foe.
>You're not an EU citizen so you'll be deported if you're discharged
Do you have any recent (at least grandparent) ancestry anywhere in an EU nation?
No my great grandma was German and she taught her kids German and they taught me German
Peak germans. Just self-indentify as turkish.
Honestly you'd have a decent argument to sue them for letting you leave your life in the US and your job to join the Bundeswehr when they legally couldn't hire you.
Not memeing, contact a lawyer.
This German employment laws are brutal af. It's not like the US where your boss can tell you to frick off because you brought kfc instead of bk.
Yeah, they might get away doing this to a thirdie, but you can't do this to an American and not expect some legal consequences.
Should I be a marine?
No. Just join air force dude.
Can you pick your duty station in the air force
Not guaranteed unless you've got some crazy ASVAB scores or some very particular niche skillset that they need and you'd probably need both good ASVAB and that particular niche skillset.
Yeah the Army has plenty of tankers
You can trade bases at the end of tech school. If you get a general career field selected before going to BMT and don't like your AFSC, you can trade them soon under a new program.
Get good ASVAB scores and get a job written in your contract. Specific jobs have a select few bases they go to.
If you want a guaranteed base, join National Guard or the Reserves.
Okay. But how do I make enough money to move out and support myself in the National Guard or Reserves without a degree.
you don't
you're supposed to have a second job once you've finished basic/ait
So I need a job first? Do I get paid during training? Would that be enough to move out. I'll also need a car though.
you don't "need" a job to join the guard/reserves but you will be homeless very fast without one unless you find a full time NG/R job
yes you get paid during training and exercises
You get paid AD pay when in the training pipeline. You'd need to find another job once you get to your base. Once you hit SSgt (easier in the National Guard and Reserves), you can get a full-time DoD civilian job that performs your role (they call it "technician"). You can also get Active Duty orders as a Reservist, so you work full-time. Those opportunities are few and far between, though.
It makes more sense to do Active Duty first, then try to get out as soon as possible and join an ANG unit. Talk to a recruiter, but have a spine when doing so.
How do I develop a spine?
You just do
Not unless you can't get in another branch.
Thanks for the advice. I will try that
You should be able to get a US military legal assistance attorney for free for serving in the marines. If you talk to them, they can give you better advice and possibly get you a legal corespondent in Germany.

I recall hearing about, though it's possible it's muddied memories mixing together into one, that the Marine tankers were offered to move to the Army depending on open slots for skill retention. Did that not happen? If I'm having a moron-episode don't hesitate to tell me
Yeah but it wasn't a good deal so most didn't take it.
Was it that or
>WUNCE A MARINE ALWAYS A MAHREEN
>I AINT LEAVIN UNLESS MORR LOOTIN AND SMASHIN
>American in bundeswehr
I call bullshit.
you can't even join the bundeswehr without a german passport
frick off mutt
Bring it here baby...
What the frick is this a really distorted "makes you think" meme?
>Get an offer to join the German Heer
>They're going to triple the size of the Bundeswehr because of the Russians
>They want veterans from the US who speak German
>Massive signing bonus
Well that all sounds like a giant pile of horse shit
The Marine Corps shown any interest in the Griffin? It should fit in their budget
No idea about the marines, but the army has.
> Mobile Protected Firepower
> On June 28th, 2022, the Army selected GDLS Griffin II light tank as the winner of the MPF program with an initial contract of 96 vehicles.
Also the OMFV (Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle) program includes GDLS as one of the 5 competitors.
> Point Blank Enterprises, Oshkosh Defense, BAE Systems, General Dynamics Land Systems and American Rheinmetall Vehicles. The total value of the contract was $299.4 million. Teams will develop concept designs during the 15-month long phase
and should be finishing that 15-month phase in the next month or so.
im sorry this happened to you and would like to apologize on behalf of all germans
if you want you can crash on my couch for a while until you can pull yourself up by your bootstraps
This is why your women frick Black folk and arabs Hans....
im sure they would frick Black folk if they could find any in germany, women just are like that
??
When i visited Hamburg and Frankfurt there was quite a few of them, and dont get me started on Berlin,i refused to belive it was actualy Germany.
And this was back in 2017,now its probably much worse.
that may be true, but its not where 99% of german women live, and they are not going to travel to hamburg or frankfurt or berlin central station just to nuck figgers
>Told you have to join the army as a private
I have never heard of a prior service marine having to join as a private. Did you sleep with an officers wife or something?
I have
USMC motor T stationed in Okinawa in the mid to late '90s got out and joined the army in 2002 and ended up driving deuce and a half and 5-tons in Afghanistan.
Left the marines as an E-4 after 8 years.
Joined the Army as an E-1 and left as an E-3 after 4 years.
LARPING moron.
At worst you would have been E4 in the army. The only way you'd be a PVT is if you were a PVT in the Marines.
Stfu and go back
>Join the Marines
>Told I have to join the Army as a private
yeah, not how that works unless you're still a private in the USMC
Bullshit, Marines can move straight into the Army at the same rank without going to basic.
>We may not need you after all
>Depending on how the Bundestag votes recruiting you may have been illegal
>You're not an EU citizen so you'll be deported if you're discharged
You'd better provide a source for this
Fricking commie. You gave up your US passport so frick you. There is no going back, enjoy ODing in some east german drug den.
This is fanfiction and all these morons falling for it nust prove that subhuman filth has invaded this board.
