Lugers don't load the commmon 9mm of today
You're NGMI
Only thing it's good for is shooting a Black person and taking his Glock that shoots non-obsolete cartidges
>Lugers don't load the commmon 9mm of today
Off the shelf 115grn 9mm is completely safe to shoot in Lugers. It's the hotter 124grn, defensive, and +P ammos you have to worry about. Well, 115grn round ball 9mm may not be the best for anything other than target shooting, it is by far the most common type of 9mm, and thus still a very usable option in TEOTWAWKI situations.
Maybe if you find some old stock, but they're not produced anymore. They've been replaced by the ICF-P27 which looks similar but is digital. ICF-P27 is on the right.
It's all the same fricking shit made in the same factory in China.
Go look at all the different radios out there with different names and models slapped on them.
I bought Uvk58 after anon made a thread, I'm not that impressed by it despite /misc/shilling it so hard. If shtf I will opt to get a better radio. It does what it says but tx power is dogshit. It is only good for Rx
The tx issues I was not aware of but the main appeal was it being cheaper than a Baofeng UV-5R while having way more features and mods, I had a Baofeng for work and got the Quansheng cause it was cheap as shit, they work fine for just basic UHF and listening to satellites and planes.
It's hard to say, the Quansheng has a whole slew of mods made for it now but the Baofeng lasted many years at work in the rain or being dropped from a catwalk by clumsy coworkers so I can vouch for it being a solidly built radio.
Their UV-K5(8) feels pretty sturdy except for the beltclip. But honestly the spectrum analyzer, while really awesome for an HT isn't my thing on this kind of screen. IJV v.3.14 makes it way better than Egzumer firmware.

How so?
I understand some of you are Black folk. But White men can handle the 35-question multiple choice Ham Radio test. In fact, some can handle all 3 tests, all the way through Amateur Extra. But it helps to have a good memory and high IQ. *whites* shouldn't have a problem.
The technician license test is such a joke >What's an LED? >What's the squiggly line mean on this diagram? >What's a better conductor, copper or glass?
I'm amazed when someone manages to fail.
>good to know what they're broadcasting, also for weather. >It's sunny today, rainy tomorrow, sunny again the day after
Wow, better run to buy a 1970's radio!
My man, I'm literally working on writing a new data modem for HF radios now. 4th Gen Automatic Link Establishment, MS-188-110D data waveforms, and a STANAG 5066 engine. It's gonna be killer. Encryption built right into the software, if you don't want the feds snooping.
I have a small Tecsun PL-310ET. It's a portable thing that runs on 3 AAA batteries or a micro usb power source.
AM, FM, long wave and shortwave. Served me once during a power outage but other than that it's just fun to scan for signals.
Don't know. Not sure if they make knockoffs at all because these aren't really high-end machines.
The construction on mine is solid but the buttons feel a bit flimsy and the tuning knob can fall right off, shit like that. It's still chinese plastic after all.
But it does it's job of receiving well.
>stay in your homes >cooperate with authorities >place all your food on your driveway >the planes overhead are friendly, there is no need to fear >I repeat >stay in your homes
yea i'm think if i need anything out of china now is the time to get because it's only going to get harder if not impossible to get useful electronics like comms
i understand where you're coming from and do partially agree but we're kinda frogs on a slow boil and we've just become complacent to how crazy things have gotten
it was always crazy now its just unfiltered so we get to see it raw.
your view of the apocalypse is shaped by movies you think you need a lot of gear and shit when in reality the first thing you need is to get your family in order then buy animals thats what people did in bosnia were they actualy had shtf.
agreed but situational awareness is impotent, i've lived through some hurricanes and been without power for over a month and being able to reach out and communicate is very useful
Have this here Sangean digital...
-Can work off of battery power OR it can plug in. Thats important so that you can listen to the radio for the vast majority of the time that it will HAVE power so that you don't have to chomp batteries just to listen to it. But in emergency its an Batt powered radio
-Headphone jack
-No hand crank. Hand cranks are unnecessary. If civilization is so fricked that you can't find a supply of batteries within a few weeks after power goes out then you have bigger problems than not having a radio.
My phone doubles as a radio, but if shit ever gets bad enough that TV, phones, internet, car radios, and roads are disabled, I don't think a portable radio is going to help.
Reminder to those that don't feel like getting a HAM license, or just need slightly longer communication than a Baofeng can offer, that CB Radios aren't just for truckers. With a simple home setup you can talk distances up to 10 miles, and for those on flatter land, that can be extended to 20 or even 40 miles at night.
maybe from a home station, i remember driving across alligator alley which is flat and straight but i couldn't talk to my friends car ahead of me a few miles down the road
>i couldn't talk to my friends car ahead of me a few miles down the road
To be clear, I was mostly talking about home setups. Car setups are incredibly variable depending on antenna setups, variable power out puts from the engine, and a lot more. A stable home setup with a small outdoor antenna is going to be much superior.
Right now I have a Tecsun PL680, a little Baofeng HAM radio, and a portable CB radio that I don't remember the name of. With the CB radio the only thing that I can pick up in my rented townhouse is some guy who is seemingly always on his CB and calls himself SWAMP DOG. I can't understand a god damn word he says because he speaks with such a thick accent. It basically goes like this: >THIS ISSSS SWAMP DOGGGGGGGGG >*Incoherent rambling for about a minute* >SWAMP DOGGGGGGGGG
I just bought a house and will be moving to a smaller city soon, I plan to set up some antennas at the new place once I get settled. I will miss SWAMP DOG but hope to receive something more coherent. Also, with my Baofeng I can pick up the local HAM radio club, who just talk about boring bullshit for a few minutes a day.
Jesus Fricking Christ that SDR chain >*crunch* >*snap* >oops the antenna lead snagged in my shirt as I was getting up >rip usb port >rip motherboard if you're unlucky >rip at least one of the chain modules too >rip you because now you're deaf and mute and shit is spraying in your face through the fan
And clean your fricking car holy shit
The chain is stationary, so no it won't "snap". And necessary to filter out strong local AM/FM bands that will overload your receive across the spectrum since these don't have notch filtering like the expensive ones. And I have a giant 160 pound dog that rides w me so there's gonna be hair, daily.
Would you like to discuss radio or nitpick like a moron?
Dog hair is the least of the issues there. >Would you like to discuss radio or nitpick like a moron?
Dunno. Are you licensed? What is your shtf protocol? Do you operate on the regular, or at least tested your comms with others? What do you think of digital modes? Do you think we'll ever achieve critical mass for citizens radio mesh?
Ham radio was Grandad's internet. Yaesu or Icom radio into a wire antenna on 14Mhz and you can talk aroung the world on voice(SSB) or morse code even with a weak signal. Too much interference in suburbia nowdays to do it from home sadly
Why would i want to hear the stupid worthless screams of morons dying and begging for help miles away when im trying to enjoy my time before the end?
Seriously you fricking losers want to hear other morons screaming and crying in a plane crash? the worst part of dying in a plane or near groups of humans is you gotta listen to their stupid screams and pleas. Better to die somewhere nice and quiet
odd that is the first place your mind goes to instead of being able to communicate in a minor emergency like being snowed in or a hurricane where your whole state is without power for weeks
Are you telling me you are so weak. that a Simple Blizzard or hurricane is SHTF / End of the world situation for you? If you never lived near hurricanes guess what you can prepare non perishable food now. and store it in secure places. like an adult who manages his house would.
Blizzard / snow in? o guess what you as a human have this crazy thing called Jacket / clothes. And i know many of you are fat and lazy. but you can use your legs and walk to the store. Or be an adult and have a certain amount of non perishable food.
Funny that you kdis think SHTF means a minor inconvenience. No its a major fricking problem. Like nuclear missles or asteroid. Something that really is Shit Hitting the Fan. not some minor nuisance like your gf on her period.
Sometimes shit happens. It isn't end of the world shit, but things where communications are very relevant & needed. You can't do that if the phone & networks are all down. What you're suggesting is reliance on a shaky system, which is dumb. You can't take down the airwaves & sometimes you have to work w other people in a trusted network of residents that help each other in times of need.
My father in law had this happen to him. His small town had a major flood that fricked everything, and there's was no outside help for days (rural Appalachia). Him & his buddies communicated via CB to get people out of their homes, bring food & water, get shit for themselves, etc.
You honestly sound like you either haven't really lived long enough to see things happen, or live in a gov cuck area full of Black folk where nobody gives a shit about anybody else. Don't worry goy, help is on the way lol.
bro i lived without power for over a month after Wilma, i was well supplies but cell tower were down the whole time and the natives were restless, being able to call up friends in case of emergency was nice (vhf marine radios are not really supposed to be used on land)
Christ is King

nope i have a bag of rice, an external battery and and kitchen knives
Yeah it's called a phone
Multiple radios. I have SW/MW/LW, HF, UHF, VHF and nanometer comms.
why?
whats there to listen to?
>official Government radio report here
>Please go to FEMA station1 for food.
roger.
whats your 20?
dont bother, I dont care.
breaker breaker
fricking boomer.
>whats your 20?
Shut up, CB gay. That's not how real Operators QSL.
ok boomer.
Thats a big 10-4. Real operator says 10-20. Thank you Navy Seal for your servixe.
I have LB/GT, Q, I, A, and nanometer wiener
Tell me about fake call signs & trolling HAM boomers w them.
Frick no
Yeah, I have a crank/solar powered one that doubles as a small appliance charger. I aslo have a ham radio
The ICF-P26. The last analog radio Sony ever produced.
You can still buy these new.
What's the practical difference between analog and digital radio?
Interesting post, ic. Will check it out. Any chance I can power them using more modern power bricks that charge up smartphones and etc?
yea i have this one, it has a hand crank, solar and usb. Its also a piece of shit that doesn't even have a headphone jack
the one OP posted a pic of is analog
by analog do you mean tube
It could also use transistors
people like to shit on tubes and say they're weak but my guitar amp has GE tubes from 1955 and they're still working great
its only 50$ so i highly doubt it uses tube but it does say analog in the product features unless amazon is mistaken
ye

good to know what they're broadcasting, also for weather.
only if your phone has a headphone jack.

Wow, better run to buy a 1970's radio!
Got a Tecsun PL660, good radio.
My man, I'm literally working on writing a new data modem for HF radios now. 4th Gen Automatic Link Establishment, MS-188-110D data waveforms, and a STANAG 5066 engine. It's gonna be killer. Encryption built right into the software, if you don't want the feds snooping.

Noice! Are the ones on AliExpress of these type the real deal or knock offs? These remind me of the c. Cranes from the states
Don't know. Not sure if they make knockoffs at all because these aren't really high-end machines.

OP has a stock of radio to sell on Amazon
It's solar powered exclusively
To listen to government properganda even as the world is ending?
Yea nah get fricked, I'm listening to tinnitus FM right up to the end
I listened to Review Brah and got one of these
Those Tecsun are Excellent. Are you the Iberian Peninsula emailer who givesone of the European signal report to him?
No, I don't want to hear their bs propaganda on radio as well.
>stay in your homes
>cooperate with authorities
>place all your food on your driveway
>the planes overhead are friendly, there is no need to fear
>I repeat
>stay in your homes
I just bought one as a impulse buy after watching Blackout Britain and American Blackout power outage movies.
I have the same one, fren
Yes, solar powered and hand crank, pretty much like . Also a V3 and V4 RTL-SDR + old thinkpad.
City dwellers will start eating each other after a month with no power. Zombie movies are way more accurate.
that's not a radio , now this is a radio
based.
i haven't bought one yet, i'm still trying to figure which one is best, modifiable, and what band i want to use
Just get a basic baofeng so you have it.
yea i'm think if i need anything out of china now is the time to get because it's only going to get harder if not impossible to get useful electronics like comms
these look like a great option and very affordable considering they pick up shortwave HAM radio too.
it wont hit the fan
we're there now
we arent though you just hate going to work so you hope for a apocalypse which is understandable.

Several. I'm a based boy.
And you need 2 way comms instead of just listening. That won't get you very far if shtf.

So you clearly can't tell those are 10m radios converted to non-licensed 11m. Just admit you don't know wtf you're talking about & we can move on.
No there's enough pride flags and BLM lawn placards around me. I'll be eating good if shtf
If shtf wouldn't i want another fan
Ham radio was Grandad's internet. Yaesu or Icom radio into a wire antenna on 14Mhz and you can talk aroung the world on voice(SSB) or morse code even with a weak signal. Too much interference in suburbia nowdays to do it from home sadly
Yes. Its in my car. Will listen to Satie as I drive to my innawoods bunker.
Antichrist fears cheap chink analog radio.
An Icom all-band, Icom HF, a few baeogangs, a handheld 2m and a couple dozen solar/windup radios (mostly for barter)
yes
also have a LoRa transceiver to communicate with my friends in that scenario
Yea.

I don't live in fear cause I'm not an idiot.
I bought a fricking machine and shoved it up a boomer's butthole.
you bought a low-tech device and listen to boomer's buttholes.
There is a difference between us.
my dad from fbi got them
