Why? Killing some time at the end of the day, having a rest day or waiting out bad weather in your tent sucks with nothing to do. Soft-cover and pocket books don't weigh that much.
>bring a kindle if you want a book >WELL YES YOU SHOULD GET SPIED ON IF YOU WANT TO READ
homosexual, people should get as low technology as possible while they are out.

My brother in Christ, if you're afraid of globo homosexual striking you using a kindle, I think you'd piss yourself being in this site.
I keep my book in a dry bag or whatever its called in english, it's waterproof and has kept my book and other stuff like match sticks on all my trips completely dry
Can’t be bothered with a full description or a picture but generally my setup has significantly more shit I inherited or made and significantly less name brand shit still in its packaging. I’m really not trying to be the gate keeping autist but your load out just screams “consoomer-tech-yuppie” and I kinda hope you die on a mountain.
>all that junk >65l bag >shittiest sleep system money can buy including a shitty pad
I want to see this in action, I want to see this guy carry this shitty setup with all this shit dangling off the sides of his pack, then dig through all of this shit once to find something on the bottom
Your sleeping pad is shit
Get rid of the flag, the axe, the multi-tool; Colgate is shit, there is no reason to hike with glue if you have tenacious tape; and wtf are you doing with that draw and those carabiners? I don't see any rope and that's not enough hardware to do anything related to climbing...and why do you need two belay devices with only five carabiners and one (ONE!) quickdraw.
The rest is nice.
Water bottle
Multi tool
Bandages
Disposable rain poncho
Lighter/matches
Toilet kit (gloves, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, plastic bags)
Phone
Power bank
Charger cable
Crossbody bag
How is it versatile for you? Do you use it as a windscreen or as part of your shelter? Seems like a hassle otherwise, having to carry it with one hand during use.
Yes, you have to use a hand, so it’s not compatible with trekking poles. You can strap them to your pack, which works great if the sun is cooperating and you’re heading in basically the same direction for a while. But it’s really not ideal. >sun protection
It’s SPF 50. Great for road walks or sparse tree coverage >heat reflective
It’s actually quite noticeable >rain protection
This come with the caveat that it depends on the rain, but as always, we pack accordingly. >wind block
Great when taking a break >can catch a breeze
This can direct any slight amount of wind directly on to you, cooling you off. >privacy while shitting
No one wants to see you shitting. You can squat down behind it. You don’t even need a tree or a bush; just shit wherever. >knock down spider webs
A stick works as well but the umbrella is already out.
There are positives and negatives to every piece of gear out there. I was mostly worried the umbrella would get caught on trees, being that the South is subtropical in spots and the trees are generally small and the forests dense (jungles really). But it’s not that bad. If a branch hit it, the umbrella just sort of turns and rotates around it.
Wind driven rain is a big complaint, but again, if you take the wrong gear for the weather that’s on you. The other option is a jacket, which isn’t as ventilated. Just don’t be a moron, and if wind could be a problem (ie, if it’s cold) wear a light jacket as well or go with something else entirely. The light jacket-umbrella.l combo is actually versatile within itself. I use the umbrella alone until the wind picks up, then put on my running jacket.
In the summer it’s an absolute must-have. The rain here is extremely sporadic, with very scattered showers building from humid air blown in from the Gulf of Mexico. I keep the umbrella next to me, in the gimmicky “trekking pole stowage” thing Osprey has on all of their packs.
Nah, it's just a platform for my sleeping bag that I threw together last minute with some 2x4s and a sheet of plywood. It's light and easy to just pick up and put stuff under.
>bringing books
>physical books
>not only one, but two
reddit moment
People who refuse to read physical books should be sterilized
NTA, fhere is nothing wrong with reading physical books, but taking several of them out while none being PrepHole related is stupid.
Why? Killing some time at the end of the day, having a rest day or waiting out bad weather in your tent sucks with nothing to do. Soft-cover and pocket books don't weigh that much.
not that anon but primarily bulk, bring a kindle if you want a book
>paperback book
>bulk
You started the thread with the toothpaste dots, didn't you

i only read hardbounds.
If he is bringing all of that stuff to use, those books are gonna get wet or destroyed
Because as we all know, if you're not doing ball slams with your bag in the middle of rapids, you aren't actually PrepHole
According to PrepHole, the only place on the planet that rains in the summer time is the eastern half of the US.
I keep my book in a dry bag or whatever its called in english, it's waterproof and has kept my book and other stuff like match sticks on all my trips completely dry
He's not, that much stuff doesn't fit in that bag. He's just bought a whole bunch of expensive shit and posted it on the internet.

Stupid instagram homosexual.
>Werther's Original
I will kill you if I smell you on the trail.
He's got a paki flag, anon. He's going to behead you.
Werther's is the only thing I hope the boomers leave behind when they die off
I had that goal zero thing it suuuuucks
But it looks cool in a picture.

Why 2 hats?
Why 2 sunglasses and regular glasses?
Why 3 pairs of gloves?
Water bottle
Multi tool
Bandages

You won’t use half that shit, reddit gay
>nokia brick
The only tool you'll ever need
You're missing the fingerless gloves.
Like of knives like katana and machete is disturbing
is this really your edc or are you just showing off your loot?
I was going to shit on this, but then I saw your casting top. Hail fellow, well met.
might be the guy who rescues tourists from his backyard with dono'd western gear, but edgelords will persist...
kek
I've started going PrepHole with an LBV more than a backpack now, it's comfier and definitely easier when snowshoeing/ascending.
derpa posted wrong pic
Did something similar, went with a buddy doing some fun larping stuff. Snowshoeing is truly a b***h, but more rewarding than a regular hike I feel
Really nice tent btw, I think the guy who makes em posts here. If you see this, thanks bro!
>Hashoo Foundation
bless you
Pic is one of the most versatile pieces of gear I’ve ever used, second to a cotton bandana.
How is it versatile for you? Do you use it as a windscreen or as part of your shelter? Seems like a hassle otherwise, having to carry it with one hand during use.
It's like a tarp, but with less options

Still active with the PA /k/ meetups? I went to one meetup and then you'll cowards decided to purge new members.
What's your setup for sleeping on the passenger side? I've been thinking about trying something like that after my minivan was destroyed.
Removed passenger seat and seat of rear bench, back folds down flat so I kept that and installed pic rel
No, I moved back to WI and haven't been to any east coast meets since 2020, I got purged too
Rad. Does that platform box open up for storage?
Nah, it's just a platform for my sleeping bag that I threw together last minute with some 2x4s and a sheet of plywood. It's light and easy to just pick up and put stuff under.
What can I say, I love patches and meets
>all that /k/ringe from patch general
What car is that? I've been looking for something that can do shit like this for a bit now.
Older Jeep cherokee/grand cherokee.
Not all of that is gonna fit in that bag
