there was footage of rus recce team probing amongst buildings in western Soledar. Probably yesterday or day before. I have a feeling that there are only few Ukrainians in Soledar and the place is mostly defended by fire from outside of it. Theres higher ground to West so they can see along the road and into the town even without drones.
They were at the outskirts of the town, hundreds of meters from their claimed position.
Unless you mean the other video from "the center of Soledar" which was in a village 20km from the front.
Or the video from an unrelated gypsum mine.
Or the video from a different salt time.
so what was the point of these cum/chug/ger raids? they stick out like a sore thumb on every board they try to infest and it's been like that since 2016.seems like an exercise in futility.does the firehose of falsehood have a future in information warfare? or is yet another outdated tactic akin to human waves?
Desperation and literal mental illness. The ones who aren't paid to be here are useful morons who feel a big, empty hole in their hearts since Trump is out of power, it's only natural they gravitate towards another strongman with a semi-functional propaganda arm. I wish it were more complex than that but it's human nature, many people don't care at all who is right or wrong, they only care about who appears strong, and Russians are masters of appearing strong even when they are incredibly weak.
It’s even simpler than that, they’re just reflexive contrarians. They hear things from politicians or in the media that they don’t like and rather than just concluding that they’re wrong about that thing in particular and might be right about other things they assume that those people are wrong about EVERYTHING. Ukraine being invaded by Russia? Well obviously the evil drug addict hohol Nazis are at fault and we should celebrate their deaths. Favourite celebrity turns out to be a sex pest? Well obviously this is a conspiracy by a israeli cabal in Hollywood. Trump being mocked for selling NFTs? Well obviously this is part of his hyper dimensional chess game and anyone he disagrees must be a liberal. If you told them that they had to drink water to stay healthy they’d gladly start drinking piss out of spite.
What makes it funny is that they imagine automatically taking the opposite opinion to people they don’t like makes them smart, rather than making them just as dumb as the npcs they mock.
They fell for the grift and are too full of themselves to admit they've been lied to so they cling to increasingly insane claims and theories and like any group of obnoxious morons they need to talk and gloat about this shit everywhere they go
According to some interviews the problem was both flanks of the Ukranian forces were not that good so they folded while the center held. It seems they were able to for the most part stabilize the situation for now but it's still critical.
Aren't some of those forces just random TDF units? Basically their militia style reserves.
If they held back the waves this far, I'd say they were doing a decent job.
We won't know for some time but regardless of the situation the Ukranians did drop the ball on this town. They should have known an offensive was going to happen here with all that intel but war is random and everything goes wrong so who knows until it can be analyzed in the future.
It'll be interesting to see the fallout from Soledar and whether the Ukrainians feel they need to risk manoeuvre forces to retake it.
I really don't want the vatniks to make this into a serious victory and from looking at the map I'm not 100% sure that Soledar was quite such a vital linchpin for Bakhmut. Losing Bakhmut isn't that much of a big deal operationally but it would be great if Ukraine held it and continued to stack dead vatniks. Prigozhin talks about using the battles for Bakhmut and Soledar to bleed out the Ukrainians' good troops which is insane Verdun-level cope in my opinion, but I hope my sense about the relative casualties being suffered by both sides is correct.
soledar is literally just the first step to make encircling bakhmut even a remote possiblity. its not ideal but its not a critical deathblow. thats all it is.
So there are still AFU troops in west Soledar
Very risky move because their flanks are compromised.
Looks like wagner lost the momentum but without a counter offensive soon Soledar is probably doomed.
Yeah I know that their are sending reinforcements + artillery and wagner push already stopped, but time is not in the ukrainian side in this scenario, they lost their flanks and thats terrible.
If they actually manage to push them out it will be a huge humiliation after all the soledar spamming and I will tip my fedora to them but honestly it looks bad.
I'd rather they pull out of Soledar so they don't waste troops for no reason. That being said, if Valeriy Zaluzhny thinks its a good idea to keep that town, then more power to them.
I still want to know, are HIMARS hitting Russians there yet? That's imo the way you can tell Ukrainians are serious about a battle.
Using expensive and limited HIMARS ammo as close artillery is a waste. They will use them to hit the places wagner use to rotate troops far behind the frontline as usual but that requires time and intel.
>Using expensive and limited HIMARS ammo as close artillery is a waste
while this is true, it's sometimes worth doing anyway

This is why they should have been given cluster rockets. A few M270s firing DPICM would solve the problem

Three weeks ago I would have responded to this post by pointing out that cluster munitions produce horrific amounts of UXO and are thus probably not what the Ukrainians would want to fire at territory they intend to reclaim
But the Ukies recently made a publically statement basically declaring "frick UXO" and asking the Americans for every cluster bomb, shell and rocket they have so whatever, I say we send them too.
I want to see what famous "grid square deleter" actually looks like in combat

Ukraine has world-class EOD crews, and even many civilians have skills from their stints in the army
Russians have been mining and shelling Ukraine for so long that only a few middle-eastern countries may have as many UXO experts
between merely 2014 and 2016, for example, 49,000 instances of landmines, UXO, and IEDs were handled, an unthinkable number anywhere but the Middle East or maybe Vietnam
if anyone is responsible enough to deplete stockpiles of cluster munitions in a safe and effective way I'd think Ukraine would top the list

>deplete stockpiles of cluster munitions in a safe and effective way
this is my new favourite euphemism for murdering russians
Soledar is a sunken cost battle. Ukraine doesnt want to pull out because they lost so many men holding it even though withdrawing to a better position makes sense.
Mmm. Depends. It's not that Bakhmut is crazy valuable strategically. I think they just value it because it's the most convenient line they can hold. The rail line doesn't go east-west there it goes north-south. So they'd have to move the line back quite a bit to set up a new defensive position. So as long as they still think they can hold it with disproportionate force I expect they will. Mostly because retaking it will favor the enemy instead of them.

Mykolaiv/Mykolaivka is related to the Russian/Ukrainian spellings of 'Nicholas' as far as I can tell. Most of these towns are named after St. Nicholas (Yeah, the Sinterklaas/Santa Claus guy)
Much like the Hyperdimensional Fortress of Pisky, Mykolaivka exists in multiple places (and times) at once. Russia will be able to send troops through the gateways once they capture the remaining Orbs.
The Russkies haven't grasped that they aren't here to capture these cities....the cities will claim them.
So many Mykovaivka's and so many Pisky's, all of them with open graves for all the invaders to fall into. Everywhere they turn, there is a Pisky or Mykolaivka....with a sniper scope pointing in their direction.
so soledars pre war population was only about 10K right? with almost all of wagners men and a large group of VDV, wouldnt that be close to the towns population? and they still cant crack it?
>with almost all of wagners men and a large group of VDV, wouldnt that be close to the towns population?
Anon, Russian concentration at that front now reached close to 60-100k troops. It's more than Bakhmut and Soledar combined

Clarkson got into a kerfuffle about that, but in the end even Hammond and the Mexicans overshadowed in. >how horrible must it be to wake up and realize you're mexican
The main reason they got kicked off the show was Clarkson punched one of the producers. But the BBC was probably looking for a reason to get rid of them since they often skirted very close to the line of acceptable things to do and say for a prime time family friendly show.
No, but Clarkson was apparently a gigantic entitled piece of shit that no one liked working with, so the BBC dumped him over something good enough to make the excuse.

they have limited resources (help from the west simply isnt enough, even the ammo that gets sent is used very quickly). russians are attacking like mad all over the donetsk border so the dialema for ukraine is to decide where to send the resources. 1) send it north to aid the ukrainian attacks there, which could open up alot of the north and west of the SD river however the terrain isnt ideal there and russia is dug in deep. 2) send more to bakhmut. this will obviously help the situation but means ukraine cant attack elsewhere, ultimately meaning that russias plan there worked. 3) build up and attack south. better terrain to attack and cap comprimise a huge section of the russian front, but it means the rest of your current line has to suffer.
it looks like they are going with option 3, and Zaluzhny even made a point of apologising to the poor guys in the trenches not getting what they need because the new reserve has to take priority.
But it didn’t, Russia didn’t even take the town and continues to walk into the obvious meat grinder, if they actually had a brain or plan they’d abandon the obvious trap.
There's speculation that resources are being saved for a spring counter offensive to capture crimea. With the kerch bridge out of operation Crimea would be cut off from reinforcements.
Both sides are licking their wounds and rebuilding stockpiles of men and material for spring.
Russia has mobilization part 3 and has been rebuilding some of their stock pile of artillery munitions
Ukraine supposedly has 40'000-60'000 fresh or retrained troops coming back from training in western Europe over the next few months, along with western IFVs and MBTs
>Feels like the ukies have been unusually quiet offensively. I wonder if they're stockpiling shit for a big Melitopol push after winter
Well, Russia and Belarus have been massing vehicles, troops and logistics in Belarus for MONTHS now. This will be the next front, not a matter of if, but when.
Ukraine knows this and has been building up defenses/mining the region/massing reserves.
Meanwhile, Bakhmut is a meat grinder - and as long as Russia can throw actual fricking convicts with fourth rate equipment into the grinder - they're gonna keep doing it, because Ukraine has to use actual people instead.
Every rocket, missile, recruit, tank, truck, AFV, etc that is used at Bakhmut can not be used to reinforce the North or the South.
Likewise, any material used for a push towards Melitopol can not be used to defend against a new front.
I think Ukraine is doing everything it can to shore up resources, manpower and logistics, waiting for Russia to make the first move; meanwhile Russia is doing the same. First one to act may well be the loser.
Ukies are in full defense mode. Their armored brigades that usually spearhead thrusts are deployed and scattered away from the front to act as firemen in case shit hits the fan. Maybe they're waiting for spring or got tipped off that new gibs are coming soon or something.
Since you're new to the board, I'll spoonfeed you.
For years now, vatniks have taken memes without understanding them and tried to flip them around.
Most famously, they completely misunderstood most Simpsons references and thought the laughing cat is screaming in agony (conflating it with an unrelated meme).
After years of this (and then 4 months of an especially intensive barrage of this) anons started copying these botched attempts at memery and posting them "ironically".
It was embarrassing 4 months ago when they were claiming Bakhmut had fallen. Jesus wept. It'll go eventually, surely, but it seems it's going to take everything they can spare, the largest mobilisation since WW2, a 4% year on year drop in GDP, their remaining CSTO 'friends', and flipping Nordic border states into NATO. IMO, Bakhmut isn't worth losing an aging T-72 over, let along Solefrickingdar..
5/10
On one hand, you have created a masterpiece.
On the other hand, a masterpiece created for the purpose of pretending to be moronic makes you look pretty moronic.
Since you're new to the board, I'll spoonfeed you.

Just imagined you losing so hard in a war that you focus on gains on the internet than on the real process on the battlefield. That shit has "two weeks soon 2020" vibes
Yet vatBlack folk are claiming that they took the whole town and have entire Ukrainian divisions surrounded. Even the maps the Russian MoD is putting out disproves that, but they are still running with that story.
So what happened? After months of Wagner ineffectively fricking around, the (endangered) Russian regulars were sent to Soledar by Monke and actually did the hard work of pushing into the town, taking heavy losses, then Prigozhin tried to claim the glory for Wagner alone for PR? This pissed off the Russian MoD so much they released that statement out of spite? Did I get it right?
I feel like /k/ needs to read up on the shennanigans between the IJN Army and IJN Navy to even understand 10% of the shenaniganjs going on in the background.
Daily reminder the japs lost an island because the Army and Navy were not talking to eachother at the moment and the Army had all of their carries sunk. Navy had carries with a dead airwing.
When you hate the IJN Army more than the Ameriburgers.
Curtis Le May once said about the US Air Force, "The Soviets are our adversary. Our enemy is the Navy." The Japanese Army felt the same way, only they were 110% unironic.
So obviously the retaking of Kherson, Lyman, et al., was merely a cope by the hohols for losing 2X% of their nation to Russia. This means that ruskie efforts to claim Bahkmut were a cope for a cope, which in turn makes going for Soledar a cope, for a cope, for a cope? Is there a level of cope of I'm that I'm missing, or else adding erroneously? This is cauldronposting all over again.
>Bakhmut has a population of around 73 thousand people
Why is this shit taking so long and receiving so much attention? Even if either side wins out, how is this more than a minor and forgettable city?
not really everything was run down, I the war I guess the commieblocks really help on the frontline, if you remember in late spring when Russians captured popasna they quickly reached bakhmut, I think something like pic related will happen
>center of town >captures an administrative building on the edge of the map "we control the city now!"
Are russians really this moronic or is just the fetal alcohol syndrome.
I read that there is a giant weapons chache in the Soledar mines, mostly german stuff from WW2, so imagine all the Kar98ks, MP40 and 44 falling into r*ssian hands
If they should lose them I pray they rigged the whole place with explosives before
>Ukrainian blasts guy on a toilet >no memes, no nothing, just accepted >Russian does meme roll >haha lets make memes this is an epic victory my friends!
weird.
This is pretty much the first good webm the vatnigs have since the tank blast one.
Just goes to show how shit Russia is that in almost one year of war they only managed to produce two good clips
NTA but no, the Ukrainians who were killed didn't realize the tank wasn't one of theirs as it was early on in the war. This is why it was and remains spammed so hard. The roll webm shares these relative traits.
>one of two major logistics lines
Meaning that they've still got a major route to keep supplying Bakhmut (itself only being significant by virtue of being in Russia's way)
ONCE Wagner took Soledar, ain't no way AFU took it again with all those spent firepower right? This has been going on for weeks, ain't no way they are going to have another resources to expand their assault. Unless they still have their line of logistics still attached
>third world Black folk shit up the board for the 500th time in a year >at least they maybe captured something this time >turns out they didn't capture anything anyway

Russia drafted 2 million last spring
And they are trying to draft even more
>Feels like the ukies have been unusually quiet offensively.
Did everyone forget the fact that Russia are probably going to try a northern offensive again? I imagine Ukraine is saving up for that.
>"hey let's do the exact same thing we did last time, but we add mines. trenches, prsited artillery and no element of surprise"
bold moove cotton.
These are Russians, doing the exact same dumb move again is like their entire playbook
Ukies are in full defense mode. Their armored brigades that usually spearhead thrusts are deployed and scattered away from the front to act as firemen in case shit hits the fan. Maybe they're waiting for spring or got tipped off that new gibs are coming soon or something.
Can't Ukraine exploit the fact that Russia has all its reserves in Soledar? Why not push in to one of the emptier areas?
Shut up shhhhh
>all that shit yesterday and they didn’t even take the mines
ive been suspecting the russians realized they are not taking bakhmut and decided to go for soledar just to have something
if the front quiets down after soledar, then i guess my theory is correct, if not, taking soledar is part of another offensive
>Soledar fell in 3 days
But it didn’t, and for image makes no sense in context
Since you're new to the board, I'll spoonfeed you.
For years now, vatniks have taken memes without understanding them and tried to flip them around.
Most famously, they completely misunderstood most Simpsons references and thought the laughing cat is screaming in agony (conflating it with an unrelated meme).
After years of this (and then 4 months of an especially intensive barrage of this) anons started copying these botched attempts at memery and posting them "ironically".
Oh I know, I was simply insulting him with the truth
I'll take shit that didn't happen for 500 VatBlack person
aren't you missed on the front, vatnik?
It was embarrassing 4 months ago when they were claiming Bakhmut had fallen. Jesus wept. It'll go eventually, surely, but it seems it's going to take everything they can spare, the largest mobilisation since WW2, a 4% year on year drop in GDP, their remaining CSTO 'friends', and flipping Nordic border states into NATO. IMO, Bakhmut isn't worth losing an aging T-72 over, let along Solefrickingdar..
What are they even paying Wagner with anyway, they can’t be stupid enough to take rubles
I hear they accept salt mines as payment, though they have trouble collecting.
Cum chuggers are the most pathetic beings ever
5/10
On one hand, you have created a masterpiece.
On the other hand, a masterpiece created for the purpose of pretending to be moronic makes you look pretty moronic.
Told you not to over do it in the other thread anon
enjoy your ban sanjeet
How can you guys suck so bad at making image macros?
And what is it with you guys and the Simpsons?
see
Just imagined you losing so hard in a war that you focus on gains on the internet than on the real process on the battlefield. That shit has "two weeks soon 2020" vibes
Is it possible to somehow lure them into the mines - maybe spread the rumour there's a kind of conscript cum pit in the depths - and trap them all in?
>Wagner are on the outskirts of soledar
They are inside the fricking city.
So is russian ministry of defence lying?
Yes.
But so is Wagner.
Correct. If Wagner's leader isn't careful, Russia is going to send his coordinates to Ukraine's HIMARS one day, lol.
That map makes it look even worse
>control some half-empty lanes and the town square
>w-we control Soledar!
/k/ope zogbot
Frick off brownoid
Why aren't you busy dying of a waterborne illness you got from drinking from the Ganges?
So obviously the retaking of Kherson, Lyman, et al., was merely a cope by the hohols for losing 2X% of their nation to Russia. This means that ruskie efforts to claim Bahkmut were a cope for a cope, which in turn makes going for Soledar a cope, for a cope, for a cope? Is there a level of cope of I'm that I'm missing, or else adding erroneously? This is cauldronposting all over again.
>losing 2X% of their nation to Russia
Maybe last spring. Russia only controls ~14% of Ukraine now.
source on the artist?
The Russians have lost 60% of their post-February 24th gains. The highwater mark was in March a few days before their goodwill gesture began.
Bro, even by your own map, you don't even control half the town...
This is what Russian victory looks like; we've zoomed in so far that taking half a street of houses is being showed off like some grand spearhead.
Where is the Cyrillic sign/nameplate that's above their heads in the other photos?
jfc, at least pick a couple of doorways that are halfway similar you fricking moron.
>Bakhmut has a population of around 73 thousand people
Why is this shit taking so long and receiving so much attention? Even if either side wins out, how is this more than a minor and forgettable city?
Russia wants it for propaganda reasons and Ukraine wants to defend it because it's a favorable location to defend.
>center
the town hall is literally 500m from the southern end of the town you lying sack of shit. Look at the map again
whats so special about this town that its the only thing russia seems to care about taking anymore
nothing really, it will be retaken in a counter offensive.
They want to wake him up.
AWAKEN MY MASTERS
They're desperate for *any* victory to broadcast back home and this is the closest thing they have
Russia needs a victory after Kharkiv and Kherson and they were already committed there it’s not strategic at all.
Just a suggestion for our visitors from /misc/.
We really need to rangeban everywhere but north america and Europe, post quality will increase dramatically. At least ban Russia, India and Africa
The captcha should be having to drink your tapwater without getting dysentery
A lot of shitposts come from diaspora in Canada though.
those are just proxies and chinks
Most of the /misc/tard population is from North America tho
Just ban the butthurt belters and I'm good. Those people are really hateful. They called me vatnik plenty of times which is very rude.
Had anybody else even heard of soledar before Russia made a play for it?
Objective answers only: how important is that town actually?
yes, I was there on a trip in 2014, visited even Crimea
Lol, I mean in the context of this war. Like in reports and junk.
Was it nice tho?
not really everything was run down, I the war I guess the commieblocks really help on the frontline, if you remember in late spring when Russians captured popasna they quickly reached bakhmut, I think something like pic related will happen
>center of town
>captures an administrative building on the edge of the map "we control the city now!"
Are russians really this moronic or is just the fetal alcohol syndrome.
that is Julian ropcke map, he doesn't show the commieblock district being captured
I read that there is a giant weapons chache in the Soledar mines, mostly german stuff from WW2, so imagine all the Kar98ks, MP40 and 44 falling into r*ssian hands
If they should lose them I pray they rigged the whole place with explosives before
>Ukrainian blasts guy on a toilet
>no memes, no nothing, just accepted
>Russian does meme roll
>haha lets make memes this is an epic victory my friends!
weird.
This is pretty much the first good webm the vatnigs have since the tank blast one.
Just goes to show how shit Russia is that in almost one year of war they only managed to produce two good clips
dreeft
>they only managed to produce two good clips
Wasn't the tank blast one blue on blue filmed by Ukrainians?
NTA but no, the Ukrainians who were killed didn't realize the tank wasn't one of theirs as it was early on in the war. This is why it was and remains spammed so hard. The roll webm shares these relative traits.
That's what I heard but who the frick knows for sure.
No it was Russians posing the tank as captured. They were Russians in them, with the Vs painted over.
It's very obviously not blue on blue since the tanks top machine gunner opened up following the tank shot.
You notice the vatnik spammers never post the other angle and audio showing that it was obviously perfidy.
Why is ukraine shelling this town?
warcrimes against the peoples republic of donetsk
heavy skirmishes at soledar, reminds me of mariupol and severodonetsk copes
geolocation soon 🙂
But Soledar has been captured by Wagner 29 times in the last week!
this was geolocated to Popsana unfortunately :~~*
~10 mins (200mb) of walking around soledar
NO GUN/EXPLOSIVES SOUNDS WHATSOEVER
https://t.me/riafan_everywhere/16028
48.701426681130286, 38.06653134521687 (not russia captured on cope maps)
what is this phenotype?
He's got that existential tiredness that a lot of eastern Europeans have.
just two more weeks(and 15 more human waves) to get Soledar comrade, don't get too antsy
>Russians actively making UA MOD casaulty statements more accurate every day
>NO GUN/EXPLOSIVES SOUNDS WHATSOEVER
Russian media started releasing videos like this from "Mariupol" at the start of March 2022.
Why does the telegram link have a NATO emblem on it if it's footage of wagner?
Post Kiev, Kherson, Kharkiv, take your pick. You burned through tens of thousands of mobniks and conscripts to take a town nobody cared about.
> You burned through tens of thousands of mobniks and conscripts to take a town nobody cared about.
Cope
So russia still hasn't taken it?
>deflecting
Cope
Foolish westoid, russia has already taken it six times
nope
>one of two major logistics lines
Meaning that they've still got a major route to keep supplying Bakhmut (itself only being significant by virtue of being in Russia's way)
ONCE Wagner took Soledar, ain't no way AFU took it again with all those spent firepower right? This has been going on for weeks, ain't no way they are going to have another resources to expand their assault. Unless they still have their line of logistics still attached
>Wagner took Soledar
when?
you from two weeks in the future or somethign?
>Doesn't even control half the town
>I'm the one who is apparently mind broken
Why are you making such a big deal over something so irrelevant? Why are you doing on such a small hill?
The battle for Soledar will be remembered as the battle for Stalingrad of the 21st century!
lasted longer too lmao and it's still ongoing, probably for another TWO WEEKS!
I'm not very hopeful, but it will be incredibly hilarious if the Ukrainians manage to repel the vatBlack folk from Soledar.
>he posted the same staircase again
I'll take this as an admission of defeat
how does this happen?
You'd think everyone died at once, otherwise there would have been people running if the trench wasn't safe.
Soldiers died, Puccia send more men to trench, they died, etc. Repeat until trench is overflowing with bodies
>third world Black folk shit up the board for the 500th time in a year
>at least they maybe captured something this time
>turns out they didn't capture anything anyway
I can't wait until the Rus is wiped from the face of the Earth
What’s the latest /k/ cope? Not reading the thread
That its costing the average Burger 83 cents a day to fund Ukrainians killing invaders. We decided it was best to triple it.
> tiny ass town
> huge army can only reach the center
> take photo quick
> WE TOOK OVER THE TOWN
what the frick is wrong with Russia
SAY UKRAINE IS WINNING SAY IT
