How can the most populous country on Earth completely fail to develop any defence industry at all beyond small arms for DECADES? Fighters, helicopters, tanks, APCs, hell even the INSAS rifle was pulled from service. All failures. I think the only thing remotely competent is their shipbuilding and even then its heavily reliant on foreign made components. Their defence industry is completely reliant on importing shit they could never home to make themselves.

    Also J-20 is trash.
Chinese AESA tech has still not been proven.
Their BVR missile capabilities are questionable.at best.
Chinese state media literally used Tejas mk1's footage to show that j-10 could a2g strikes.
Chinese engine tech is worse than Russia funny considering the mutts and frogs literally sold the designs of cfm-56 (which was the basis of f100 series engines(f-15 andf-16 engines) to china. Their serrations are a joke compared to the f-135's design. The j-20 has nothing equivalent of an SDB. Majority of j-20's are as trash as BLK 1 f-35's.
Their RCS is questionable and most likely have similar RCS to the super hornet. Which is literally the same RCS as the Rafales.
China's only real capability is the rocket force. Their air force is trash.

            >This looks more fun than the chinese top gun knockoff.
Born To Fly was fricking awful. It completely missed the point of Top Gun itself, which is supposed to be over the top with a high-effort soundtrack, patriotic/militarist to a comical degree, awkwardly sexual, and very much like anime(because TG itself was a massive influence on anime). Born To Fly meanwhile was an edgy, grimdark action thriller that played it straight, and sucked fricking ass.
Fighter however is basically TGM mixed with Rambo 3 turned up to 11, with Bollywood musical numbers and some fantastic villains.

The main villain is surprisingly awesome. He's like a ripped Metalocalypse Islamist Jeffrey Dahmer.

It's just Russias marketing. I remember going to an air show in the 90s when they'd send SU-27s out and I got a very impressive lecture about cobra manoeuvre and then they tried to sell me a video game (featuring cobra manoeuve). Never mind the fact you could clearly see exposed cord on the tyres- that's not going to stop the cobra manoeuvre.

It did to some extent. It wasn't the deciding factor or anything, but American squads generally had a firepower advantage over their opposite number, which was good for morale among other benefits.

American rifle firepower (unlike armor, artillery and air attack) was never decisive and barely contributory. frankly they might have done better to stick to the Springfields and devote the excess production resources to BARs. nobody went around trying to scrounge Garands, but automatic weapons, definitely.

They won't, hell I wouldn't be surprised if it's a giant shitpile like the SU-57 and they're just better at keeping that secret.

I doubt it, the plane itself seems like a ripoff of a failed Soviet design imo

So, googled it and while it isn't official, Russian state media was calling out China that they stole the 1.44 design.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least given everything the PLA has is just what the USSR was going to make if it didn't collapse.

It is genuinely funny just how much of their military strategy is countering/attacking US military over the 9 dash line disputes since they forget that a US carrier is US soil and attacking US soil nets you a total war with a c**t that wins total wars.

China's risk calculus with that seems to be a thesis revolving around baiting the U.S into a more attritional conflict in their waters. They obviously know they can't do shit outside their immediate neighborhood, so they play on the structural weaknesses of the U.S as a force.
