it looks like a bunch of kevlar, but it's obviously been blown the frick out.
Also no, Zircon doesn't exist, it's a marketing ploy to sell two-stage AShMs to the indians.

I doubt it goes Mach 9, but at any rate it was shot down by a Patriot so it didn't hit the ground at hypersonic speed anyways.

Somewhere else. The pic looks like the ass end of the missile. It stands to reason it would have broken up after getting hit. So its likely in many little pieces.

Well a boost stage would have been discarded pretty early on. Its meant to get it up to speed so the scramjet can work. It wouldn't have made it all the way to Kyiv. Second,

Yeah info is really lacking. From what I can see, it looks to be a 2 piece design. The booster and the rest of the missile. Not many pictures exist. Most pictures labeled Zircon like

Are actually the Boeing X-51. There is promotional material that makes it look roughly similar to one though.

homie the whole thing is 9 meters even if we assume that the second stage is 4.5 meters that still cant bring a building down just by its debris get real here

Vietnam and Iraq 2 had massive sustained protests that DID ultimately result in a change of government. Now, Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama did not exactly live up to expectations. But Americans did change their government in response to those issues, and foreign intervention remains a controversial topic

            >Those drones cost thousands of dollars each
They are Black person-rigged alibaba drones with a HEAT or an experimental HE warhead, most likely recycled from EoD stashes.
The thousand dollar drones are the ones flying and recording your death and struggle for survival in 4K and even then, they don't last for long (Estimated 4-10 missions before they are lost).
            >pretend they are cheaper that artillery shells
They unironically are. They have less risk, more precision and more uses than a shell fired from a stationary or S&S artillery piece. You use the shells to stop an attack, you use the drones to clean up the poor souls that would've lived to write a book.

Modern warfare sucks. Can't tell if I should be blaming the U.S or the muzzies for this fricking fiasco.

I noticed lately that the narrative shifted from "Russians are indiscriminately bombing civilian targets" to "our AA is successfully intercepting missiles and the damage to civilians is caused by falling debris". I wonder why that is. maybe because the Russians were already established as monsters and now the authorities want the citizens feel secure and that the government is capable of protecting them from barbaric Russian attacks

Well, one of the ships is currently slowly capsizing while russians are trying to pump out water from it waster than it gets there. Another one is trying to get towed to a drydock. Both ships as fricked beyond repair.

That is obvious! But the ship is fine and on its way into port as was shown.

Kinzhal is hypersonic as was the V-2, Russia uses the fact their missiles break mach 5 to pretend they have anything like the manuvering hypersonic cruise missiles the west and china are developing.

        >Kinzhal is hypersonic
The last Kinzhal intercept by Ukraine was calculated to be at 3.5 Mach, or, somewhat faster than the jet it was launched from. Not hypersanic.

          >3.5 Mach
That's 'near' its target (impact velocity is even lower), the iskander is similar. Speed just after its engine burn out is hypersonic but russia is lying by using the most favorable info + an extra.

    >Zircon being fake

No one is saying its fake just that Russia has grossly exaggerated its capabilities like they normally do. I wouldn't be shocked if its only hypersonic after launch and below mach 5 during the termional phase. They did the same shit with the Kinzhal. Turns out its terminal phase is under mach 4.

      >I wouldn't be shocked if its only hypersonic after launch and below mach 5 during the termional phase.
Guess someone will be able to calculate real speed based on today's launches. They were launched from Crimea and hit Kyiv seconds after the air alert was announced due to a "ballistic target in the direction of Mykolaiv"

A real threat is something that can cause a good damage/cost ratio.

People don't seem to understand that in ww2 the V1 & V2 attacks on London damage was exagerated because it was so shit relative to strategic bombing and it helped by redirecting german funds to a rocket and not to a heavy bomber in the late war.

The fact that both nato and vatnik side fricked up the idea of strategic bombing by not investing in research in modern ways to do it is a miracle for the planet.

        >both nato and vatnik side fricked up the idea of strategic bombing by not investing in research in modern ways to do it
ww2 and vietnam showed that strategic bombing does frick all. the "modern" method would be spamming cruise missiles or tossing a nuke; you'll never see B-52s or Tu-95s doing massed carpet bombings

Is the concept of a variable fuse such an outlandish concept to you Black folk that you can't imagine that a weapon system can simultaneously be able to explode a specific distance in front of the intended target as well as 5m inside reinforced concrete?

Let me guess, the high price point of these systems has nothing to do with their capabilities and is all about scamming teh guberment for shareholder profit?

Ukraine says they’re going to make a MILLION drones this year. If they do hit that number and they can’t turn the war around then we’ll have pretty conclusive proof that drones aren’t the new kings of war. The huge majority of drones don’t kill anything, we just get the highlight reels. No one outside of Ukrainian high command knows the actual ratio but get ready to accept that less than 10% of drones are effective at doing something and 90% fail for some reason — shot down, malfunctions, jammed, operator errors, and simply running out of juice before doing anything. Instead of buying a million shells they’re buying millions of drone components so maybe they’re in fact more useful than artillery but it’s hard to judge what’s going on with such tight information lockdowns. I’m definitely going to read the books which are sure to be written about this war and hopefully a real military historian will uncover all this stuff in the future.

Motherfricker, they are one of the most effective tools and weapons a soldier can have on the modern battlefield. A group of 3 guys can take out a tank out of commission from 5km away, behind a hill, sipping on a cup of tea, while doing recon at the same time.
It's fricked. You are fricked. We are all fricked.
      >The huge majority of drones don’t kill anything
This is fricking cope and you know it.
      >shot down
Unlikely, they either fly or never take off. They've been constantly doing basic b***h EW for like a year now.
      >malfunctions
Good thing they are not expensive and you have a shit ton of them at your disposal.
      >operator errors
Very minimal when all you have to do is land near your target or scout them from above.
      >simply running out of juice before doing anything
Also unlikely, most drones are reported to have an hour to two hours of flight before they are gone for good.

The one coping is YOU. Last year RUSI put out a study in which they said Ukraine was LOSING approx. 10,000 drones MONTHLY. Read: https://rusi.org/explore-our-research/publications/special-resources/meatgrinder-russian-tactics-second-year-its-invasion-ukraine
You have a skewed view of reality, you think the highlight reels posted in /k/ is an accurate description of reality. The REALITY is that Russian EW — which isn’t even that sophisticated, just relatively plentiful — is stopping that many drones. READ: one major EW system per 10km of front is responsible for stopping 10,000 drones every month. It’s just not reality to you because you DON’T see the hundreds of videos which are just the camera fuzzing out and going blank. That’s the reality of these shitty alibaba specials. I don’t know if the ratio is still that bad since they’ve had a year now to deal with the EW, but the FACT IS that drone production in Ukraine is going WAY WAY up, but kill feeds aren’t anything remotely like the numbers of drones being produced, are they? Just use common sense stop being a willfully ignorant sucker.

The wars of the future with be fought with AI controlled drone swarms. EW will be required for advancement. AI drone swarms WILL be used to control civilians.

You know that meme that an airplane or tank can enforce law if the government wanted to take over? Drones can.
