I use a reel mower because I hate noise, vibration, fumes, maintenance, etc. and because I don't like throwing rocks at cars and houses and pedestrians.
On the other hand, all the complaints in this thread are legit. A reel mower is probably great in perfect situations like a golf course, but in a real yard they pretty much suck. But I'm gonna keep mine because I'm hardheaded. (that guy who said his reel mower snaps most twigs must weigh about 400 lbs; mine stops dead in its tracks for anything larger than a matchstick - the same mechanical advantage that makes the reel spin fast multiplies the stopping power of a twig).
there is no better cut than a reel mower. they shear the grass against a stationary blade rather than ripping it off by conservation of momentum like a regular mower. cleanly cut grass grows back more evenly and is softer without the dead torn tips a spinning mower leaves

Friend invited me to a sportsbar his work reserved and I was talking to one of his coworkers who was obsessed with telling everyone he didn't already know how good electric lawnmowers were and he was such a c**t about it you would've thought he was a salesman for the fricking things. I told him they didn't suit my needs and he went into this god damned tirade about people needing to get out of the stone age on tech and figure out how far batteries have come since grandpa's day and when he finally asked "so how big is your yard? an acre? acre and a half?" I told him 40, with an additional 240 leased, and that I didn't even own a lawnmower I cut my grass with a 90hp john deere 4040. The prick couldn't even be graceful about it he just sighed and rolled his eyes like I wasted his time then stormed off

I've heard similar sentiment from reddit/youtube and am afraid more and more people will become insufferable electric OPE simps crying about free choice on the marketplace
so what's your solution? because to me you're just as bad as the guy you're b***hing about. both of you are trying to get other people on your bandwagon, that's for sure. your crying about his crying isn't any better. there's eight billion people on this god forsaken planet, I think the markets can handle a little niche variety and still cater to your complaining ass.

I am not demanding anything except people to not be spergs for [new thing] and spend their free time trying to "convert" people to [new thing] because it's obnoxious.
