Looking for combat clothing that doesnt cost an arm and a leg

I get that Crye pants are often considered the best, but holy shit, how much better can they really be to justify an over $300 price tag?

Any suggestions for good combat pants and other clothing that isn’t cheap airsoft shit, but isn’t a huge ripoff priced towards Uncle Sam?

I don’t need the absolute best, but something built to last that won’t glow like a lamp under night vision would be nice.

What do you guys think about wearing black G3 pants for travel and hiking?

Id think youre some moron autist. I own g3s and g4s btw

I am autistic. I just don't know what kind of pants to wear. I have jeans. I don't like khakis or chinos. And I like having extra pockets for light traveling because I fly places a lot and don't like taking more than a small backpack.

Then buy cargo pants so you look somewhat normal. Id personally stick with jeans for traveling.

            >cargo pants
            >look normal

It's not that everyone in cargo pants is instantly a mall ninja in my eyes, it's that they're turbo autists first and people maybe third or fourth. Sure cargo pants are great for packing your pants full of extraneous shit, but don't do that so you don't look moronic. Cargo pants are fine if you're too young to buy a gun, almost everyone is poor-larpy at that age.

It’s similar to my philosophy when it comes to wearing armor:

I have on armor that will defeat the rifle rounds I myself carry. It won’t stop everything.

I’m looking to do something similar with NV, not defeat all detection. That’s a fools errand.

          Hiking with likeminded friends.

Serious use though? I legit hope I never have to use it.

But I’d rather have it and not need it that need it and not have it in the event of some kind of collapse of polite society along with its structure and rules.

People can’t even manage the power grid going down for 3 days well… you start to see them reverting to selfish impulse even when they know the power is coming back on any day now, and that life will continue as normal…

Imagine what they would do with no end in sight, hungry kids, and a grocery store that isn’t getting resupplied.

I don’t own weapons and gear because I’m some butter who fantasizes about playing Rambo. I own weapons and gear because I’m a fan of civilized behavior and polite society; and I’m keenly aware of how fragile it actually is.

Everything in this hobby is ridiculously priced. There's $50+ GP pouches, $120+ mini backpacks.

Things get easier to swallow once you accept that most of the "gucci" products in the tactical and outdoor industry are often going to be $100+

How is $300 pants more unreasonable than buying a $200+ Surefire flashlight or some other ridiculous gun crap, like the Hydra mount?

I bet if you're actually the type that would go outside and wear the pants, you'd have many more hours of active use on them then you would the next flashlight, optic riser, or other stupid crap the influencers shill onto us.

That’s definitely a reasonable argument, and I probably will try to pick up a pair of Cryes eventually. I mean, I do spend more money on ammo after all, and that’s a consumable… well, everything is a consumable if you really get down to it, even your knees…

      But my thinking is this:

I need combat pants that are 70%+ as good as Cryes for half the cost or less.

Why? Because I’m not made of money right now and I need to cut costs somewhere.

I’d rather buy more ammo or upgrade the optics on some of my pistols at the moment than spend it on what are essentially still just pants.

Or a Cryes just that mind blowingly good? I guess I’m skeptical that I couldn’t get something perfectly serviceable in the meantime for a hell of a lot less.

        >Or a Cryes just that mind blowingly good?

i have a set of UAE cryes i got used for like 100 bucks. they are very comfortable, fire resistant and dont shine under nightvision. if it was my JOB to be a soldier i would definitely prefer to have these over 5.11 or condor but if you're just a regular fella they probably aren't worth all the money.

If you are trying to save money, just buy decent pants. Worring about certified minimal NIR signature clothing when you don't have night vision sensors is silly. You'll be inside at night. Camo appropriate to your local environment will evade detection during the day, even if it has a high NIR reflectivity. Lighter patterns stand out less under NVGs and polyester fabric is super reflective.

Haven't used Crye's but I have used lots of different pants with integrated kneepads. Those are mostly a joke in my experience. Wear kneepads if you need them, skip them if you don't. Intregrated kneepads, if they are positioned correctly, kinda make kneeling nicer and thats it. They are not a viable substitute of dedicated kneepads for working in rough terrain or being on knees for a long period of time.

        Ebay?

Cryes are decent and are pretty good made. Ebay sometimes either gives you a slightly cheaper price or more expensive. But aside from that, if you don't want to pay that much, buy military surplus made by military contractors. Army combat pants(talking about the ones with the crye knee slots, not the regular ACU)seems like a good alternative along with it being $70-$100 per pair and you can get army combat shirt for like $20.

Flashlights actually make sense as they've proven to be more durable and more capable. The Hydra mount is just a company milking morons by shilling them a product that maybe is useful on a handful of niche firearms.
The clothing is just moronic. Crye in particular is run by two literal dyel types in NYC who literally just moved an Asian sweatshop state side for military contracts.

Arktis c222 ranger pants but you can't get them in multicam because crye sued them for having *not multicam* they are about the same quality a little cheaper but made in Britain. I have cz omega 4 pants which are great too but good luck finding those anymore.

Get surplus you frick. You want to look like a coolguy you have to pay coolguy prices sucks but thats how it is. No a chink eotech clone isnr just as good if you want the eotech look you get an eotech. Same for the tanodized vortex razors, same with an aimpoint etc. So nothing changes ever. There is no just as good chink brand of crye clothing. Just accept it and live your life accprdingly. Get suplus shit, it is the only that that is in fact as good as long lasting downright on some cases better. And save your pennies for a crye set and dont waste your money on stupid copies. Dont buy cheap clone shit you are better than that.

Depends where you live. Plenty of brands that make good gear for 1/3 of the price of Crye in Europe (Clawgear for exemple).

If you really want a Crye G3 style just buy a chinese knockoff from Pew Tactical/Emersongear/Idogear. You can have a complet set up for $100/150. Decent quality durable and it doesn't shine under nods. Plenty of reviews on youtube.

Hey dipshit he can just use the hippie all natural soap to wash it again and get it back to normal. Ir reflectiveness or a material is not some sort of coati g that goes away like a der coating that wears away. It's the fricking fabric itself, the soap if wrong the soap, has optical brighteners you little dunning kreuger shit but the soap can be washed off and thus the optical brighteners wash off along with it. Frick you parrot morons leave out some really important shit most of the time.

Hi, own a handful of Cryes here.
After several years of using them i DO agree that they're very overrated and like you and everyone would imagine you're just paying for the name.

They're made of the same 50/50 blend cheap Army Issue ACU OCPs are made of.

The only difference is they accept kneepads ans stretch a bit.

They're the best clothes at their job. They cost that much for a reason. I can almost guarantee you will not see that value if you just want them for LARPing. Remember that some hard doorkicking motherfrickers have done their most famous work in blue jeans.

That being said, if you really want to feel opr8r, nothing's going to beat the feeling of $300 fabric professionally engineered to be worn while killing people.
