Ukraine has now struck the Inghulets bridge as well, both bridges out of Kherson are damaged, and perhaps unusable for heavy traffic. Russia claims that the bridge and dam near Nova Khokova was also hit overnight by missiles.

Inhulets bridge.

Russia claims missiles were used but others are saying there’s no fragments of any missile and that it was probably done by 155mm artillery.
some additional asphalt and the bridge is as good as new
>Do russians realize what will happen next?
and what is that, further retreats by ukrainians? boming a bridge is a sign they never expect to take it back
if they take kherson the africans will demolish the bridge as they retreat anyway, use your brain
You don't know shit about bridge engineering, do you?
Well, he's a vatnig, or worse, a s*rb
>some asphalt
The cables in and under the concrete are fraying and becoming undone. Russians stated that they have been trying to find engineers specializing in this type of construction but can’t find any to repair the Antonivka bridge.
The cables and what this style of construction looks like.
Truly is a cargo cult.
Too bad vatnik culture alienates anyone with a higher education, especially the USSR larpers from the meme republics.
You can also see it in PrepHole post - the vatniks always out themselves as completely ignorant on any practical topic - from welding, to civil engineering, to engine transmissions, to agriculture, satellite navigation and even the weather and climate of Europe and European Russia.
Specifically these cables are used for prestressing the concrete to make it suitable to drive on. Destroying those tendons significantly weakens the tensile strength of a large section of the bridge not just the areas with holes blown through them. Fixing the issue would first require a shit ton of investigation by engineers and then require very complicated and specialized formwork and bolstering sections of the bridge with adhoc post-tensioning support beams.
This damage is something that would need to be carried out by a very advanced construction firm and would take a year at a minimum as I doubt their are many firms specializing in fixing bridges damaged by theatre ballistic missiles. Then again that is to raise the structural soundness of the bridge to that of western civilian standards which I doubt is necessary for Russian purposes.
Oh I get it. So with some of the cables destroyed, there’s no more stress pushing the weight of the slabs up, making it weigh down on itself, and driving anything heavy over it could be disastrous.
yes for a recent example look at the genoa viaduct collapse which was caused by undertensioning the cables aswell as corrosion of the cables. Concrete has poor tensile strength and that is extremely important when building bridges, when something heavy is on the bridge in the middle of two anchorages then concrete has the tendency to pull apart hence the need to reinforce it with high tensioned tendons.
So I want to guess that the cables run all across the slab? From one edge to another? If it snaps anywhere along the length of the cable, does that mean that all tension is lost from that cable? If so then if you were to lay out a grid of lines on this slab that was hit, it looks like the majority of the lines are destroyed or damaged. With some of the holes destroying the cables on the far side, while some have destroyed them on the near side, some on the left, some on the right. Maybe less than 20% of them remain intact. If what I’m assuming is true.
Bridges are designed with massive margins of safety. Hence why they last so long.
In a civilized country, yes.
they dont tend to be designed to withstand missile attacks tho and its not like we are talking about safety for cars. you can drive as many of those over the bridges as you want but a column of tanks?...
They run all along the slab but are typically compartmentalized, they are usually run from a section of stiffening girder, bolstering or anchorage to another. But yes cutting a tendon effectively causes it to lose all tensile benefits so whatever the length of tendon cut its now the length of bridge that is unsafe.
well the main thing is that concrete is good in compression not in tension. I don't specialize in bridges, but steel reinforcements are needed on the tension side of a bending concrete section. not having it makes failure far more likely. Prestressing helps reduce deflection of a member, but the primary thing to remember is that steel, prestressed or not, resists tension in concrete. not having steel will lead to a sudden and catastrophic failure. Think of it this way, when you bend a paperclip it will bend very far then break eventually. It bent far so you can tell it will snap soon. on the other hand, glass fails suddenly. A glass stirring rod when bent will just shatter all of a sudden. Concrete by itself break suddenly. steel deflects then breaks more than concrete.
Yes and no. You could always just throw another span of stiff metal decking across that section because the pillars are still standing. It obviously would not be on par with what used to be there and the Ukies will just bomb it again but when they bomb it again you just repair it again. You only have to be able to get one truck at a time over it in one direction, really.
>"span is too long"
Unlikely, but even if it is just tether a barge there with a "pillar" on it to support the span midway.
I'm amazed that Russia hasn't planned for this eventuality.
Bruh, that's not how it works at all. The steel weighs a frickton. It would just make the bridge more likely to collapse.
That's a piss poor plan for evacuating 3+BTGs worth of tanks from a kotel.
The tanks are too fricking heavy. Far as Ukraine is concerned, 3 BTGS' worth of equipment is now theirs. The Russian occupiers will fricking leverage it as a way to survive now. Opportunists will cut deals with the Ukrainians to ensure the equipment isn't destroyed, making certain Ukraine takes the war gear intact.
Seriously, it's the only card they can play that doesn't end with them being shot. Holding civilians as hostages get them executed when captured, and they know it.
>A bridge is a series of cables.
>boming a bridge is a sign they never expect to take it back
The bridges are leading towards the Russian side. Ukraine doesn't need them to advance since they can just move over land from Mykolaiv. They're cutting Kherson off from the Russian supply lines. A cauldron is you will.
>They're cutting Kherson off from the Russian supply lines
you do know that it's really trivial to set up a pontoon bridge when you control both sides of the river, right? armies do it all the time - it's called "a training exercise".
You do know that its really trivial to destroy your pontoon bridge?
you know that it's really trivial to build another?
So how many times do you want to lose an entire convoy? Three times? Four?
>pontoon
Oh please fricking do it!
its not a small river anon...
it's not a particularly large one either.
the failed pontoonings happened over rivers that were like a third as wide what makes you think they could pull it off over a larger river with artillery already sighted in?
the failed pontoonings occurred on rivers with a hostile force on the other side engaging with mortars at a range of 200m. unless you're trying to claim that the ukrops have taken the northen side of the inhulets river.... go ahead, claim that. it's no worse than the other transparently propagandistic hohol lies.
>HIMARS can never reach the pontoon bridges
>especially not with the required precision
>that's all transparently propagandistic hohol lies
Vatnik cope off the charts
>couldn't protect their trucks heading to Kiev
>couldn't protect their ships heading to Snake Island
>couldn't protect their ammo depots
>couldn't protect the main bridge from artillery
But the pontoon bridge over a 1000m+ river is totally gonna be the thing they'll manage to protect. No way it's going to get blown up by the same artillery that fricked up two bridges by now.
Look how far Ukrainian forces are from the river. They can hit that shit with normal artillery.
HIMARS is quite possibly the perfect weapon to use against pontooooooners because of the cluster warhead. A single M142 launching 6 M31A1's can probably disrupt the entire pontoooooooon operation
>because of the cluster warhead
hasn't been in inventory in over a decade
Obama got rid of all of those. Only HE warheads are left (AW is an HE warhead with a sleeve of scored metal bits designed to create small, uniform fragments, not unlike those used by Russian SAMs).
>100m wide river
>not large
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA kys delusional vatBlack person literally hundreds of Russians died trying to cross a river one third its size.
>it's really trivial to set up a pontoon bridge
I mean, to be fair, they did set up the pontoon bridge, nobody said about anything for how long and with how many losses.
According to Copelord the Russian losses were surprisingly light and the operation was not at all a fiasco.
Fair point
#
>russians
>pontoon bridges
LOL
Lmao even
good lord imagine hundreds to thousands of armor and trucks trying to pontooooooon out of Kherson
Is this why the US suddenly gave Ukraine another 8 - 12 HIMARS? To fricking blow the retreating armor to hell? Imagine what the M31A1's cluster munitions will do to it all.
The team behind Oryx's list might quit if that happens.
>trivial to set up a pontoon bridge
>russia setting up a pontoon bridge without being btfo'd
AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
YES, DO IT, DO IT AGAIN PONTOOOONER
>he doesn't know
russia has dozens of pontoon and temporary bridges on all those little rivers around kherson. every bridge the ukrainians have destroyed was replaced by multiple new bridges within days.
Then they shouldn't mind if a couple of those go buh-bye, what with the satellite and drone recon the Ukrainians have access to.
Correct. Ukraine can wipe them out pretty easily, lol.
Ah, my arch-nemesis OTHER Based Charlie Magne Poster.
Expecting Russians to magically make new bridges? They can't even pontoon, lol.
>Russians
>being able to fix roads
Kek.
Looks worse than Brazil.
What the actual frick? How does that even happen?
Water washed away the dirt underneath the road.
That much? How often does stuff like that happen?
In Russia? Lots.
The lands west of the Urals are so flat that they make Iowa look hilly, and since only a couple rivers formed in them drainage doesn't occur, either. That means that whenever it rains the area turns into a fricking swamp, since the only way the water has to is downwards.
This little quirk is what stalled the German advance towards Moscow in 1941, because the Soviets had fricked their own railroads and the normal ones became unusable.
That's neat to know. Glad that stuff doesn't happen in the Baltics.
Russia has two modern cities: Saint Petersburg and Moscow, and one functioning road in between them. That's it. Everything outside of that is decaying wasteland.
1991 was the apocalypse for Russia and it's been post-apocalyptic ever since.
This. And there are also verying levels of decay. Tatarstan for example might be a shithole by Western standards, but it's an OKayish place in Russia relatively, because SOME infrastructure holds up and SOME public services are sometimes working.
Lower Volga region and especially rural Siberia are on the other hand are places where introducing Mad Max living standards would be an improvement.
Jesus Christ...
Jesus left Russia long ago.
Actually, I would risk the claim that he was never there. That place just spreads misery and poverty.
Russia doesn't even need a war to look like a fricking post-nuclear wasteland.
So this is why Russians are such spiteful creatures? They can't have anything nice so they spread misery to others?
>They can't have anything nice so they spread misery to others?
unironically yes
The really have a Borg or a virus mindset. They feel the need to be powerful and to spread their influence. Everything else is secondary.
They will happily wallow in literal shit and starve if only their Motherland is powerful and beats some foreign people to pulp. It's worth noting that the only way for a Russian ruler to be deposed is to lose big time in foreign policy conflict. Just like the Tsar with WW1 of Khrushchev with the Cuban crisis.
Russia can be understood pretty easily with just two core components:
1. Strength. There is no narrative, no ideals, no coherent ideology even. All that matters is strength. Russia strong is the means, Russia strong is the ends. Frick prosperity, wealth, freedom, happiness, peace or progress - Stronk is all that matters.
2. Russia has conducted eugenics on itself since the 15th century. They systematically culled all brave and honest on the frontline, by secret police or in camps. The only ones that survived/thrived were the cowards, colaborators, denunciators and brutes. Russians are cucks on a genetic level.
they dont call them orcs for nothing
You are right. I'd also add the complete disbelief in any form of human agency. They are so accustomed to be ruled by despots that they consider it absolutely unthinkable for any people to wanting to decide their own fate, let alone doing it.
This is why they label all anti-Russian or anti-despot movements or revolutions worldwide as work of CIA, israelites or whoever is their current monster of the week. Some might think that this is just Russian propaganda, but they are wrong. Russians genuinely believe this. Because for them human being has no agency. In their mindset it's natural for the people to stoically accept everything, including when they are being massacred by their own government.
This is why they never revolted against the tsar when he was putting them into shackles of serfdom (Cossack rebellions were notable as being started and organized by free people) or against Stalin who put them into gulags.
Pisses me to no end how in all those interviews with captured soldiers their parents said they can't do anything, they're powerless etc.
For them government is on the same level as force of nature, there's nothing you can do about it.
Yes. And their psyops actively spreads this mindset abroad. This is why Russia is behind so many conspiracy theories that circulate in the West.
My bet is that we will soon hear about some "goodwill gesture".
To be fair, even Russians see Omsk as an unrivaled shithole
Ironically, Omsk is above-average Russian big city.
Want an actual, polluted shithole? Take a look at Norilsk.
>Norilsk
That's nothing, lurk Vorkuta. People don't want to live there so much you can by an apartment for average RUSSIAN salary.
Or even for free.

Kek, so this is why Russia is the "New Rome"? Because their toilets look like they were dug up in Pompeii?
roman were better
IIRC archaelogical evidence proved they had wooden doors and shit around the shitting places as well. Combined with running water it was almost a D-tier modern installation.
Roman toilets had cut outs in the front so they could use a stick and sponge to clean their asses without standing up. Unironically better.
this shit reminds me of China
maybe they dont just wear the masks because of air quality
Honestly even here, China looks more advanced, lol. There's separation between the walls and the wall themselves look right.
But their janitor needs to get off his ass and mop the floor. That's a lot of dirt.
>implying that's dirt
>dirt
I've seen dried shit in dirty bathrooms. That's not it. Nor is it black mold. The color and pattern is wrong.
>Lower Volga region and especially rural Siberia are on the other hand are places where introducing Mad Max living standards would be an improvement.
Love that babushka
This is one of the best videos that war produced, lol
Can you imagine the stuff that will come out from other areas that were occupied for months?
>Russia has two modern cities: Saint Petersburg and Moscow
Saint Petersburg is not a modern city: its residents have to boil their water because the municipal water supply is perpetually contaminated with Giardia. Even Moscow is merely a maybe as it also has a Giardia contamination issue, though slightly less severe.
modern for russian standards i guess, probably meaning it doesnt look like tsarist russia
>How often does stuff like that happen
In socialist shitholes quite a lot. It's basic marxist Out of sight out of mind approach to labor, moron in charge doesn't know shit about this stuff, and workers under him don't give a shit.
This road stuff is perfect example of this - you are supposed to enforce the foundation, but you are payed pennies just like your foreman is, so you just pave over whatever is there, or even use actual trash. When the client, in all cases the state, takes up the finished work, it looks ok on the surface and then completely falls apart in two years and the blame goes nowhere as eeryone points at the other.

I don't care about your language enough to use it properly.
Why do morons think that 'English as Second Language' is an insult on the international forum?
You protest too much for you to not care.
I am just curious, it's not an insult.
Because you're too moronic to learn the most important language that's used around the world.
Not to mention that it's the easiest language to learn due to it being permeated fricking everywhere
I agree with easiest because it's American version is completely braindead, but most important? Absolutely lolno.
Name 1(one) language that most people know and that's used around the world.
That would be chinese and spanish. Once again you are oblivious about the world around you as a proper burger.
>That would be chinese
The yellow bars don't exist. The Chinese are a dead man walking.
>Spanish and Chinese
Now you're just being silly.
Reminder to burgers and other copeoids zhat english is only official language in US and England. That's barely 400 million people.
English is NOT an official language anywhere in Europe or anywhere else for that matter. Maybe in commie shitholes like Australia and some of Canada and not for long.
The US has no "official language", moron poster with no clue safely ignored.
Which just reinforces my point, Cholo Gonzales Washington.
And when a Spaniard and a Chinaman conduct business via a Swiss bank, what language do you think the documents are written in?
English is the language of international finance, international trade, international flight, international science and high art, and finally the common language of both the most powerful single military force to ever exist on the planet as well as the most powerful military alliance to ever exist on the planet.
It’s an Anglo world. You’re just a bit payer in someone else’s game.

permafrost heave. the roads in alaska and canada aren't much better.
Lol I have driven 1000s of hours in absolute shitholes in Canada and have never seen roads anywhere near that bad.
>I have driven 1000s of hours
wanna know how i know you haven't?
Not that guy but even 2000 hours is just 250 days of driving 8 hours each day. If he's a trucker or delivery guy or does long drives for work and has been doing it for years that's an easy number to hit.

Either water or mining damage.
Water can wash away the dirt under the road during a flood. Which leads to this kinda damage. If there's significant mining in the area, old shafts can collapse and have the ground rapidly sink super localized.
We had that kinda damage a lot in my area, it looks just like that and you might as well just rebuild the entire part of the road that is affected.
It's russian road, isn't it?
earthquakes?
That's some pretty bad structural damage, and the road doesn't look too good either.
>boming a bridge is a sign they never expect to take it back
Every day when I see a vatnik post I think to myself that I should give them the benefit of the doubt; maybe this time it won't be a moronic take. But nope, every single time, solid disappointment.
Those are cabled bridges. Cabled bridges are comparatively cheap in construction (which is why the Soviets built them that way), but the tension isn't held by the concrete, buuuuuut ... the cables within the concrete.
And if those cables get cut or tensioned the bridge itself becomes ridiculously unstable. Civilian vehicles up to two tonnes can make it (we've got footage), but run a couple 40-tonnes T-72 or supply trucks over it, and it will collapse and be completely unusable.
If you have the plans for the bridge it only takes you a couple weeks to repair the damage - in peace times, that is. But AFAIK they don't have the plans, and these are not peace times.
There's a crossing over the Dniper at Mykolaiv dummy
>some additional asphalt
lol.
That's exposed rebar you fricking vatnik clown. Only in Russia do you build bridges made of just asphalt.
>some additional asphalt and the bridge is as good as new
yes I am Tony Smith from Ohio oblast and asphalt and bridge apprentice by trade and I agree with my comrade about a simple asphalt solution
back to chug.
noone wants you here.
ever read about the romans that got encircled at carrhae?
are bridges really that thin, lmao
Soviet era
Yes. The steel underneath is what's holding you between the supports. Enough to support larger vehicles but only just.
Larger bridges usually have a bit more for a larger safety limit though.
those hits were pretty damn precise for artillery. A straight line of hits 5-10 meters apart. I would try for a zig zag pattern to disable both lanes or to make it harder to navigate through
That's unironically pretty normal for Excalibur rounds. Considering that in some of the videos we see what the ground below the bridge looks like, I think that those were used (or at least some kind of precision artillery, not rockets).
>those hits were pretty damn precise for artillery
see, unlike the stormtroopers, the NATO weapons actually *are* this precise. the ukrainians were sending the russians a message to get out while they still can - not only were the holes in a perfectly straight line down the bridge, but they were precisely spaced down the bridge as if they had been punched by a machine (which I guess they were).
WEBM
Ahahaha he just drives straight across! Is this the bridge /k/oper piggers claim to be "disabled" loool lmao even
Not try and drive a 40 ton tank across it
Tanks would just drive over those holes moron, they wouldn't even need to avoid them.
And then the tank would become an aircraft and then a submarine.
It would make it back to the port under it's own power.
I thought it was some South American shithole, but nope. Fricking Russia.
These homosexuals are going to drive T-72s over the bombed bridge, aren't they?
I'm hoping for the best (yes), but am expecting the worse (no).
When Colonel Pidorovich yells "Drive!", you drive.
>Russians drive their tanks over the bridges
>They collapse
>Ukraine takes remaining heavy weapons and ALL the Russian forces trapped there
Please God. Give me Christmas.
>These homosexuals are going to drive T-72s over the bombed bridge, aren't they?
Private Catamitov does what he is told, he is not afraid of little hole in bridge, not like coward traitor nato troony.

Be my guest, livestream going across in a tank. That will show what sort of construction the bridge has. Oh yes and the holes show that they have their arty dialled in, give us a show and go across with multiple tanks to prove your point.
2 tons vs 30-50 tons
That bridge is done for, all it needs is colonel moronovich to order the mechanized vehicles to cross it.
anon/vatnik/moron....
mmm, marinated buryats, my favourite, can I take one?
If I buy land in Ukraine that has a submerged tank on its property, do I get to keep the tank? Turn it into an awesome water fountain on my sunflower farm.
Early in the war Ukraine officially stated that if you find a Russian tank, you can keep it without having to pay taxes on it.
Damnit those were the days. I hope the current events in Kherson being back some of that march madness
I imagine they'll let the LOYAL Ukrainian civilians in Kherson have the Russian tanks.
Pretty sure in March the Ukie government said any Russian armor left on property won't be taxed, so that might imply you might be able to keep it.
I assume you'll be forced to remove all the ammunition, ERA or any other explosives which would make sense.
>Take ammo and ERA
>I dunno officer, I just found it like this. No ammo or ERA at all.
>Russians, amiright?
>there actually honestly wasn't any ERA
I’m in your house. I shall commence my killings.
Holy lol! They did shot the bridge at exact distances to show they can land a missile anywhere they want and destroy a section of the bridge any moment they want.
looks pretty usable to me
Well yes, because you don't drive a 40 ton vehicle.

At least there ain't no cables this time.
This 54512687 looks like cable and netting to me.
Meant this.
That's a big hole.
Russia's bigger.
Good luck driving any tanks over that now
Do Russian soldiers stationed there even know that? Do they realize what will happen next?
It feels like Ukraine is slowly letting them know that they either leave now or they will all die/be captured. First they strike the Antoniv bridge slightly, leaving it still crossable. Next day they strike it again, making it completely useless to heavy traffic. Now this.

Here’s a video with a fragment of something being shown. I don’t know if this is from a missile or artillery shell. Maybe someone here knows. I suppose the obvious suspects would be Tochka, GRAD, HIMARS or 155mm. Commonly used by Ukraine.
I thought Russia bragged about blowing this up thus “trapping the hohols on the south bank of the river! All 3k killed!” like 2 months ago
Kek, this is shaping up to become a disaster for the russians. I hope we get to see some good footage of a rout where they desperately try to retreat over the bridges under artillery fire. I mean they will probably surrender before suiciding but you never know.
>yet another twitter offensive
Burn in hell Muscovites
a handful of two foot holes kek a tank can just drive over that shit
Bot
Hopefully trolling, but for the morons that really think like this: The structural integrity is the thing that makes a bridge unusable, not the holes. If anything heavy drives over it, it will collapse
Nobody bombs a bridge just so shit falls into the hole, the bridge is bombed to make it unusable.
if anyone, then it would be the vatnigs who are capable of unironically falling into the hole
>if I just close my eyes hard enough the structural damage those bridges received doesn't exist
Is this how Russia got to the point it has?
Well when you are incapable of working hard and improving your condition (Western/East-Asian cultures) what can you do? Most cultures default to prayer, but Russians know that there is no God. And if there is, He hates them. So they just drink hard and pretend everything will be fine.

Your point?
Why are russians so sensitive?
Whats their excuse for bombing odessa?
"Whatever exists outside of our power exists without our permission" -t. Russia
They signed an agreement to let grain exports be, so in true Russian fashion they immediately reneged on their side of the agreement. I imagine that the sanctions on their exports will still be withdrawn and not reenforced though, because the west are still cucks.
Vatnik hands typed this.
What are you still doing here? Motherland is in peril, besieged by Ukrainian israeli gays. Why haven't you joined Rosgvardia yet? Your family will get a neat Lada (airbags not included) after you return in a sack.
So how much long do you think we’re gonna see memes about the “Kherson feint?”
it will be mariupol all over again.
not encircled, not encircled, encircled, strategic retreat, defeat.
Retreating from Keef was unironically the smartest thing Russia did this entire war. It was also still relatively "early" into the war, so it could be excused and ignored. After all Mariupol and other gains followed.
Kharkiv was already much more difficult to break to the Russian public. Milbloggers were fuming. There was genuine unhappiness and unrest among normies on social media.
Snake Island was just as bitter, it was immediately being meme'd as another "goodwill gesture", milbloggers were pissed, normies apathetic.
With 3 major "goodwill gestures", a Kherson goodwill gesture would probably do horrible damage to Russian morale. They simply can not do that. I genuinely think they'll rather turn Kherson into rubble to show how le evil gay hato ukronazis are genociding poor slava poccia, than abandon it.
>After all Mariupol and other gains followed.
What "other gains"? Bakhmut? Negative Kharkiv?
several donuts i guess or the rubble thats left that is
OK.
im not disagreeing with you that their gains are pathetic
do they even have the means to turns kherson into rubble?
There's a flaw with the Russian scheme there.
If the collaborators even suspect the Russians are going to blow up Kherson with THEM still in it, they'll turn on the Russians to save their own asses.
The last days of the Kherson occupation will show Ukraine who the true traitors are, and who was just forced into it.
BONUS Difficulty Level: Let's make this situation even more needlessly confusing by mentioning the INSURGENCY still raging inside Kherson.
Russians just had their supply chains cut in Kherson, their collaborators are probably freaking out, AND the insurgents are emboldened.
>INSURGENCY
A few SBU buttholes killing civilians does not an insurgency make.
>SBU buttholes killing civilians
This is your brain on RT
Oh? What have these insurgents done so far?
>nice CIA graphic
Those are from the Chinese latest census. It's over.
So the Ukrainians can clearly hit the bridges, why don't they just destroy them completely? Why do they keep making these holes?
Many possible reasons. Could be they tried, got counterbatteried and genuinely couldn't finish the job.
Could also be a literal golden bridge. Better the Russian subhumans frick off on their own, than to cause more suffering for the civies.
Personally, I'd honestly be worried knowing my back is to a massive river with a single bridge the Ukrops can reliable and accurately hit whenever they like.
My main thought on it is that they’re observing the bridges somehow, and they pick the times when there aren’t any civilians around so as to avoid killing innocents. That’s the last thing you want to do in this situation, like a massive hostage rescue.
Yep.They most likely have drone vision on the bridge(s). I even remember seeing some footage, but it might have been old.
You can't really time these things though. Shell arrival takes time, in that time a column of literal orphanage busses can pull up from nowhere.
Personally, I think the two most likely theories are: They literally lack the ammo and / or capacity to finish the job. Or. They want to scare the Russians into leaving.
Frick, even a combination of the two is possible - maybe they're bluffing and shot what they could reliably shoot and now they're hoping Russia will piss off.
>They want to scare the Russians into leaving
This is what I choose to believe. If I were a Russian soldiers I would seek any way out of that place. And according to Girkin and co Russians are getting more 500s than there are new people joining already.
I think it's more of a psychological tactic then anything - show them you can hit them, hole them enough so that any civilian or russoid group in light vehicles can leave, but anything heavier can't.
why bother commiting a ton of munitions if a couple missiles do the job just as well
Destroying bridges without proper demolition teams is really, really hard. Anyway, leaving them intact enough to allow light traffic out could be a benefit. Give them a way to retreat, but not a way to drive more tanks in.
It's a solid plan.
Russia just lost a TON of heavy weapons and Ukraine hasn't even gone in yet. The Vatniks will have to leave them all behind.
Since the Ukrainians have learned to function as infantry on steroids, they'll just walk into Kherson.
As others have said, these bridges were built using a very specific method that saves a fair bit of money by using substantially less concrete and rebar. The downside is that if anything happens to the steel wires underneath the bridge, its carrying capacity goes from dozens of tons to maybe a handful of tons. That means putting tanks over the bridge could drop it; even fully-laden supply trucks might be enough to take it out.
This all but eliminates the ability of the RAF to make up for tanks lost on the west side of the river, and dramatically reduces its ability to supply the troops and tanks already there. The river is absurdly wide at this point, so pontooooooning is questionable, and while ferries can help, the amount of material they can ship across each day is a fraction of what the bridge could handle (plus, ferries large enough to matter are potential targets for drones--or even GPS-guided artillery in the several minutes they're sitting still while loading or unloading).
With 500 dollars and a couple of wet explosions you can fix it. Might have to use some pre-feint rebar and copeland cement and it will be as good as new
It's unironically a pocket now
Well now it's obvious what Ukraine's plan is, right?
>"Oh sure you can still flee Kherson......but all those fancy heavy weapons of yours? They belong to US now. You cannot flee across the bridge on them."
Cheer up Russia. You'll run much faster on a bunch of jeeps.
Russia has lost.
Russians are vicious, but complete cowards. The Vatniks in Kherson know the end is coming.
The fact is, they'll figure out fast the Ukrainians gave them a way to run and they'll take it. They'll flee across the bridges in total disarray.
i see your ban expired, hohol.
>Russians searching for partisans turn to just looting valuables
Of fricking course they did.
Yes, twitter told us so.
the kettle is kotteling
Oh no! Checkpoint in a pacified area is empty! Russia lost!
saving this to add to the screencap
>David Axe
>Vatniks are finally accepting the truth
The situation must be truly dire.
It would be hilarious if Russian morale is so bad that they give up Kherson without a fight. All because Ukrainians blasted some holes into the Antonovsky and Daryevka bridges and "raised their eyebrows".
The Russian does always accuse others of what he does himself.
That wouldn't actually surprise me. In fact I believe that's what Ukies are betting on.
So with rosgvardia gone, what will the partisans get up to now?
probably false flag rapes and murders for propaganda purposes, just like they did at bucha.
Can't wait for the false flag VDV bodies strewn everywhere
Probably railroad sabotage. I've been told derailing trains at full speed is, and I quote: "simply epic".
it's also incredibly hard to do. the US did a bunch of experiments on that during ww2 and essentially gave up, the train has so much inertia that it just keeps going straight until it gets to intact rails and then keeps on going as if nothing happened.
>two one-meter gaps at different positions should frick a fully-loaded train
Wow, that was complicated. And without any explosives whatsoever.
yeah, incredibly hard
Still have the feeling that all buzz around the Kherson offensive means the real push will come elsewhere. Why not a thunder run on Melitopol and Berdyansk to threaten the Kerch bridge.
I freely admit I suspect all this focus on Kherson is misdirection. Everything points to an attack on Kherson, which is likely why they'll strike somewhere else.
With the bridges down, the Vatniks are castrated in Kherson anyway. Russians cannot fight as pure infantry. They're just a rabble of conscripts, unless the "Mutants" of Ukraine.
I feel like all the ho hum and drum is to for Russia to push everything to Kherson since they know losing it means losing the confidence of all but the most schizo shills... but then Ukes sweep in to capitalize on the weakened defense elsewhere. So long as Ukraine keeps taking back land they're winning, Russia HAS to hold Kherson, Ukes get to dictate when and where the conflicts are
>place holes 10m apart exactly onto the center of the bridge
Are Ukrainian artillerymen just trying showing off now?
>they're actually sending trucks over the bridge
Could it be that the high Russian suicide numbers are just Russians being incredibly moronic?
>Trucks can still go across bridges
Gotta give the cowards a ride. They don't flee fast enough on foot. My advice to the Russians in Kherson (and we all thought the same thing).
>Trucks can still go across bridges
How many, is the question. With the cables compromised every heavy transport could be the last one.
With Vatnik stupidity? They'll try to ALL go across in a panic when Ukraine gets too close. Conscripts are not hired for their brains or discipline. And if Vatniks don't, the traitors in Kherson will. The bridges will collapse faster than the ice did at Austerlitz. Hopefully with a LOT of Russian forces on both.
holy shit you are moronic
shut up homosexual
shut up pedo
what the hell is going on in Greenland?
Nothing happens there. That's why people kill themselves.
Good to see them already running away.
clearly unusable for heavy traffic
>"hey, Vasyl, check this shit"
>*BOOM*
>*perfectly spaced potholes to allow light vehicles through but frick up military traffic*
Give Russians way out
Makes it easy to disable the bridge
Ukrainian strikes on these bridges have been pure genius.
>make it clear that the bridges can be destroyed at any moment now
>russian soldiers can still cross, a heavy incentive to just leave right now, as long as the bridges still stand
>new heavy equipment can't be brought into kherson, heavy equipment can't be moved out of kherson
>if russians decide to give up Kherson, they will have to leave all their heavy equipment behind
Love it.
Experts agree that the damage is minimal and can be repaired at no cost.
>civil engineers disagree with a self-professed armchair warlord
>whom do I trust more
kek.
look inside the hole, Ivan. see those severed cables? they're pretty important.
I hope Russians are actually as dumb as the Armchair Warlord and just fill the potholes before trying to drive a column over it.
>expert
>armchair baldlord
I'm more of an "expert" in military matters than Vampire 6 over here.
>The "War Expert"
Lmao
If copelord says its true you better believe the opposite.
Yeah well I was kind of worried this was a waste of missiles but now Copechair Baldlord thinks the same way it's making me doubt myself.
Was this what broke him to such an extent he ragequit from Twitter?
no it was his e-girl sex novel he wrote that leaked
His "engagement was down" apparently
I'm not up to date. Did he really ragequit?
Yes. He was trying to qualify as a lawyer and people were reporting him for ethical standards due to denying war crimes, so he performed a gesture of good will and advanced in reverse away from twitter.
Can we bully this homosexual into killing himself already? Jesus Christ I want to see him vaporize his own head like the /PrepHole/ troony
>doubt the russians bothered to waste missiles intercepting them
ah yes, those missiles that have been regularly hitting critical logistical hubs for weeks? nah we dont need to intercept them, even though we could get them all if we wanted, we just dont.
didn't they shoot down their own SU-34M and SU-35 while HIMARS was being flying towards them assuming it was the rockets lmao
This was after the Ukrainians took out an AA radar, lol. Another thing to add to Ukraine's HIMARS Krampus hit list: the anti-air radar systems of the Vatniks.
>Armchair Warlord says the bridge is fine
Damage must be catastrophic.
>killing American terrorists
Do they really believe this?
Some of them, probably. Not this moron though, he's just baiting.
Do Amerimutts still deny this?
Show HATO terrorists in Ukraine
i wanna see ruskies drive a armored convoy in a panic into that river when the bridge collapses due to excessive weight and structural damage
Hohols just took Ivanivka on the north of Arkhangelskoe. The cauldron is boiling...
>is that a crossing in artillery range?
>OOOOOOHHHH I GOTTA PONTOOON IM PONTOONING
Can't wait for the next act of goodwill
I saw a telegram post saying 2k Russian soldiers are encircled near Kherson, is there any truth in this?
The post said the Russians are negotiating for a corridor so they can leave the encirclement.
nah, it seems exaggerated from what I was reading. the city is surrounded on 3 sides but not encircled and there is only around 1 BTG + stragglers in the city.
Mostly rumours and no actual evidence from the ground yet. 2k is probably too much, other sources talk about 250 soldiers.
Also no actual encirclement, but Russians seem to be surrounded on 3 sides, with the only way out being 6km of open fields and no cover.
>I saw a telegram post saying 2k Russian soldiers are encircled near Kherson, is there any truth in this?
>The post said the Russians are negotiating for a corridor so they can leave the encirclement.
A guy posted his assessment on twitter, saying there -could be- an encirclement soon.
Then another guy aped it, saying there was going to be an encirclement.
Then someone else picked it up, saying there was an encirclement.
And then someone said a 1000 soldiers were encircled.
Then someone said 2000 soldiers were encircled.
TL;DR: Never happened. Shitty game of telephone and shitty source checking.
Actually last news is that there are some stranded Russian units there cut off form supplies because all access points are covered by Ukrainian artilery. Infantry can still escape the town especially during the night because the "cauldron" is not closed but they are in a bad situation nontheless.

Russki convoys leaving the Kherson oblast, are they running?
It's a gesture of good will
>https://twitter.com/TpyxaNews/status/1550861216775639042
the feint has clearly been successful
you mean the russians heading north to destroy the enemy forces around vysokopillia?
They are driving on the right side, so away from Kherson...
Last I checked, Ukraine and Russia drives on the right side
are you moronic, or just pretending for the lulz? serious question, because those are the only two options. that's the inhulets bridge they're crossing, on the road heading NE towards vysokopillia where the hohols are hilariously claiming to have cauldroned 3 russian BTGs.
Theyre driving southeast.
>jfc he's not pretending he's really fricking moronic
What a long exposed drive. Shame if it something were to happen to it, lol. It only takes HIMARS about 90 seconds to reach a target.
You know that road is cut right?
Wouldn't shock me. The Ukrainians know its importance to the Russians. The Russians are being cornered in Kherson and they KNOW it.
They freaked out on /misc/ when I said it, lol. They're really riled up.
tell it to google maps, apparently it doesn't know that. but you do know that there are lots of roads in that area right? and that since it's summer and there's no mud the trucks and tanks can just roll across the open fields if they need to right? but do go on about how the russians crossing the supposedly "destroyed" inhulets bridge heading for the front means they're really fleeing kherson. it's almost as funny as all the other hohol lies.
Russians are trapped in Kherson. All escape routes are covered by HIMARS. No heavy armor is getting out ALIVE.
>the Russians rely on google maps to route their offensives
Explains a lot actually
Are you stupid or something?
All Ukraine has to do is raise its eyebrows and the cauldron will boil over.
How many troops does Russia have on the left bank of the Dnipro? Just imagine if the Ukrainians managed to destroy all the bridges connecting to that side and surrounded the Russian forces there.
>Putin: "What are you going to do Valeri? You just have a couple of HIMARS. We have Artillery by the THOUSANDS!"
>Valeri: "No what you have is a decreasing amount of artillery AMMO and the hope that you have enough left to repel my counteroffensive because if you do not, you'll all be dead before you can resupply."
so this is the power gmlrs can do on a old bridge?
yeah crimea is safe
Pontoooooooners spotted mere hours ago east of Kherson at 46.66249, 32.80263
