>it is unnecessary; we know how to fight the last war
Good way to lose the next.
Which is why so many cage-equipped tanks were blown up in open fields. By top-attack munitions.
and not by RPGs fired from elevated positions. Memes aside, cope cages might have worked against their intended opponents. Unfortunately not against 21st-century Western tech.
From what I can tell after watching a lot of footage they really need to use a seperate pair of stepper motors to gimbal the laser / camera independant of the tube after launch. This would add a little cost but I have seen a few misses from the whole tripod moving around as they track the target.
As for capability most ATGMs will defeat most armor and it's proven more than a match for old soviet tanks. APS will of course shit all over it but every sub-sonic ATGM is going to have that issue.
It has a pretty long range and a pretty low rocket price. Yeah, israeli and french toys are superior to it but their price is close to the price of the tank itself.
frick you. i'd much rather be issued a stugna so i can remote control it from cover instead of standing directly behind the launcher just waiting to get shredded by 125mm
Comparatively worse than Metis M but it has the option of shooting remotely which is nice but I don't think it's too much of a hurdle for any country to do the same
>How does stugna p stack up against modern TOW?
Hard to say but right now it is one of the best ATGMs of the war and doing a far better job then the javelins/NLAWs just because you can fire it remotely off a stabilized platform.
what is this shit video? basically shitting on Javelin because ukrops can't film every single engagement like they can with the stugna p. which it's a lot easier to do when you are hiding behind a hill or in a ditch waiting to ambush some shitty vatnik tank
it doesnt stack up at all
its inferior in every way
except this doesnt matter when you arent facing a 1st world military so stugna is actually amazing for its cost and effectiveness against obselete tanks
its very cost effective and i like it keeps the crew very safe, but i believe it needs some upgrades, namely top attack and a more automated guidance system
>not top-attack
good webm producer but not the best ATGM by far
this war has shown that top-attack is unnecessary.
The fact that the term 'cope cage' exists would contradict that.
No anon, we have been over this many times. The vatniks did not create cope cages for top attack missiles.
ORLY? Please educate me, vatnik whisperer.
They're for defending against RPGs fired fro elevated positions.
Which is why so many cage-equipped tanks were blown up in open fields. By top-attack munitions.
Against outdated russian garbage sure.

Just wait for Stugna +P and +P+ and the Kraut copy Stugnat 88mm
against moronic russians perhaps, but it still a very important asset
when do you expect the NATO countries to fight each other? because NATO tanks are the only ones against which top attack might be necessary.
it does a little up-then-down manuever at the terminus of its flight, but the angle isnt as steep as NLAW or Javelin.
then again, sugma PP operator can be 50 meters away from launcher so you can put it ontop of a building but control it from the basement.
It's second generation ATGM, but with relatively modern electronics

Why does the target designator have to be on the same tripod? They could put it on a second one and let the launch tube do its thing.
1. cheaper
2. best protection for operator
at everything else it's worse but that should be enough to sell to 2nd world and 3rd world countries
It has a pretty long range and a pretty low rocket price. Yeah, israeli and french toys are superior to it but their price is close to the price of the tank itself.
do tanks cost around $200,000 since that's the cost of a Spike NLOS.
Worse in every way but beggars can't be choosers.
frick you. i'd much rather be issued a stugna so i can remote control it from cover instead of standing directly behind the launcher just waiting to get shredded by 125mm
Its as good as the sugma.
soon to be outclassed by the recent ligma upgrades however. Ligmas capabilities are incredible
what do you think about the new kisma system? do you think it can compete?
TOW has better ammo while sigma operator can fire from behind cover which is a huge plus
TOW is big Really big. There's a reason why US Army still maintain TOW even when Javelin is available
Stugna is comparable to lighter ATGM like Dragon or Eryx
Comparatively worse than Metis M but it has the option of shooting remotely which is nice but I don't think it's too much of a hurdle for any country to do the same

both are shit
limited to LOS
stugna is especially shit since you're broadcasting the fact that you're firing it to the enemy via laser
If only you israeli morons would sell to Ukraine.
ukraine is a third world shithole that cant afford proper weapons
Decent 2nd Gen atgm. Nothing impressive. Standard early 2000's saclos atgm.
