Behold, selectfire p90.
Dude frick you youre so out of the loop and stupid youre not bringing back with us. Btw palmetto ammo factory is rolling and putting out quality shit get wrecked also even the fn has you know what nah frick you
>60cpr for shitty ball >70cpr-$1 per round depending on the political climate for anything actually useful >it only comes in polymer shit or weird ass guns that aren't practical >weird ass guns usually have limited aftermarket so you're stuck with the stock model
only good 5.7x28 i'd actually consider the the diamondback DBX, too bad the price is way too high for what it is
>70cpr-$1 per round depending on the political climate for anything actually useful
Just factor in the cost of 6 mags of hollow points, ie 120 rounds, into the cost of the gun; congrats, your gun is now 1020 bucks, no problem, it’s not like self defense ammo is something you have to constantly go through
Also, the M&P exists in 5.7 now, totally normal and comfortable

It's an X300, made of metal. Although I don't know how it doesn't bother the shit out of him. Any sort of fouling on my light and I wipe it immediately.

I leave it on cause I think it’s funny, it also happens every week or so when I did clean it so I no longer bother
Funny you say that because if there were one area I'd say 5.7 is a clear winner, it would be as a survival round. Something to replace .17HMR or .22 magnum as it's safe to say it beats those, but not safe to say it beats 9mm or other well established handghn calibers at doing habdgun defensive stuff.
It's definitely adequate if not overkill against varmints and very small game, that's one application I'd put it to work in. But the cost is certainly not justified since a plinking/varmint round should be cheap enough for you to stock up on enough to ride out the apocalypse and always be able to put rabbits on the table. Shooting a hog with it though, even I don't have the balls to do this, the hog will get pissed and rip yours off. Might as well shoot it with a .17HMR or .22mag...
This is exactly why we need to shill all these morons into buying defensively useless .22 handguns, so the ammo becomes cheap enough that we can actually just use it as a .22 replacement.
S&W came out with a 5.7 M&P that's gas-operated (not gas delayed like the P7 series) instead of blowback. I'll probably pick one up, the gas op should make the special plastic coating on the case unnecessary, and minimise neck stretch making reloading practicable.
No, this is brainlet myth no different from fuddlore endlessly regurgitated in gun shops. FN's original FiveseveN handgun does not need specially coated brass the function. The coating mostly burns up after 1-2 firings and the cases can be reloaded 3 times easily before you loose too much material trimming the necks back down. They function and eject exactly the same without it.
Stop regurgitating unsourced myths.
no you are simply a contrarian moron who is incapable of understanding that what you just wrote proves my claim

>hurr durr >the fact that cases don't need the coating to fire and eject normally in a handgun proves they're needed for da handgun!
Yeah, typical moron. Go back to your oookrain thread.
5.7 brass had a dry lube coating before the FiveseveN handgun existed.

>this stupid high school drop out thinks lacquer on a case prevents it from needed a trim after firing
LMFAO you straw grasping muttoid moron
I'll bite, I've been researching it and I'm not buying this round unless it becomes very cheap. Cheaper than 9mm, because it underperforms 9mm in areas that matter more than the areas it beats it in.
Pros: >flatter shooting at longer distance >2-4 more rounds per mag >lower recoil
Cons: >barrier penetration SUCKS, when shot say at a windshield or a .5" sheet of aluminum, 9mm is more likely to go through due to having more mass (I'll post vid of it sucking at barrier penetration) >hollowpoints are useless, inherent unreliable expansion (maybe 1 in 5 actually expand and they don't even become that wide), relies on fragmentation and tumbling which require ideal circumstances (range, barrel length) and target density. Expansion is a KNOWN RELIABLE wounding mechanism for handgun rounds, fragmentation and tumbling are not known reliable wounding mechanisms for handgun rounds. >loud as shit, needs to generate high velocity to work properly >requires a 5" barrel minimum, compacts and subcompacts aren't viable, you won't have ammo commonality between it and other smaller handguns you carry >does good at soft armor penetration but doesn't do as much damage past the armor as copper 9mm rounds that rape through the armor and continue to rape and penetrate deep >penetration in ballistics gel often does not meet the 12-18" minimum requirement
>I'll post vid of it sucking at barrier penetration
Notice these are out of 8" barrels too so the 5.7 should have enough of the velocity that it relies on. 9mm pushes through the piece of aluminum, 5.7 does not, barely dents it. If you're having to shoot through a hardened windshield or any barrier this is an area where it's going to perform poorly. Two comparisons would be .223 getting thrown off course by twigs and bouncing off barriers at range vs .30 cals punching through brush and barriers. Also one thing .40 cal still does better than 9mm is punches through light barriers like windshields better without diverting course as much. It just has more mass. You're losing a lot of mass going from a 9mm 90-147gr projectile to a 5.7mm 40gr-55gr projectile, and the 9mm projectile is ALREADY on the lower end of mass for a handgun round. We have shit like 10mm, .45, .40, etc. If you ask me 5.7 is cutting it too light, and depending too much on things that it can't achieve reliably (adequate velocity out of a 5" barrel, fragmentation, and tumbling).
I want to like it, but it's not the most practical for a handgun round. It underperforms 9 in critical areas.

ALL of those considered, if you really want those pros that 5.7 has (achieving high velocity for a handgun round, shooting flatter, and penetrating soft armor) what you should be looking into is copper 9mm bullets. Copper is lighter than lead so the bullets are lighter, and achieve higher velocities. Copper also deforms much less than lead, so they can punch through barriers like armor and have the benefit of leaving a bigger hole than 5.7 once they're through. I haven't seen any tests on light barriers like windshields or car doors, I'm not sure I'd they divert more or less than a heavier lead 9mm bullet. But overall those copper bois perform pretty good. I think you end up with a more versatile weapon that's much cheaper to train with than 5.7. The cheapest ammo is 4x the cost of cheap 9mm. I'd invest in some copper rounds and wait on 5.7 to see if it's going to be adopted or if they fix the areas where it's inadequate.
Why should I not just carry a PPQ like I already do when full size is acceptable? Only variations I have in ccw is going down to a smaller gun, not a different full size gun.
I would if I didn't live in grizzly/moose country. So I choose 10mm. If I lived urban id probably still carry 10mm with some 1800fps defenders since I am so used to it. Definitely getting the PSA 5.7 for my wife though. Such a dope pistol and I plan on shooting it alllll the time for fun.
60gr Aguila SSS can't beat a IIIA soft armor vest, but 55gr SB193 5.7 can
To be entirely fully honest though, I'd rather shoot 50 rounds of Aguila. Its more fun..
I just like it
What brand of 911 is that?
Turkoid. Surprisingly well built and reliable, but it had a gnarly trigger and super tight slide fit. I understand why people want high end ones tho
When did you get your green card? How is life here compared to Mexico?
because name just 1 full steel pistol chambered in 5.7 ill wait
now show us your 5.7 noguns bet you don't have one
Who said anything about steel?
all 5.7 guns are plastic shit i like metal guns

I’m not the OP.
Metal frames are obsolete now, moron. Polymer is king. Why carry heavy things when you can carry light things?

Microplastics
Spoken like a true manlet.

plastic guns are fine
I agree that steel guns are cool (I own a CZ-75B for duty 9mm cool purposes) but plastic guns are fine
Call me when reliable ammo hits 50 cpr. I don't even feed my ps90 a regular diet because it's roughly the equivalent of two tanks of gas for me.

Nice antique, I’m not the same guy you were talking to before
Sick airsoft gun bro.
That's a really bad attempt at bait m8. That's clearly carbon buildup. 9/10 I replied.
thats carbon i thought the flashlight housing was melted from firing

Nice grandpas gat, either that piece of shit was a handmedown or 300 dollars from an auction who cares
no, i've seen gold dot 5.7 fail to drop a 100lb hog, i doubt it would stop a drug crazed hoodrat at self defense distance
Does 9mm work against hogs? I would think it wouldn’t
Thanks man yeah that’s uh CO2 buildup on the muzzle

Because I’m not gay.

whats with the uptick in 5.7 posting lately. is there a new pistol again.
Several over the past couple years, and some at shot show.

The case lube was never for the handguns, its for P90 magazines.
no the case coating is to prevent the cases from sticking in the chamber and ripping apart due to the moronic blowback action.

4-7 more rounds, Rock mags have 23 rounds
Good because 5.7 needed another 3 shots to make them viable carry guns. cant kill the assailant with just 20
because 9mm is better to me. but if you like 5.7 that's good too.
also didnt u just do this thread yesterday? why not make a 5.7 general?
Because they're not paying him to do that.

Because there is no 5.7 revolver.
Because it performs the same, or worse than 9mm
Why should I not just carry a PPQ like I already do when full size is acceptable? Only variations I have in ccw is going down to a smaller gun, not a different full size gun.
The special coating on 5.7 exists so you can easily insert those suppositories in your ass.
if you're going to carry a full size pistol why not make it a 357?
small bullet... funny
there is no point to carrying a gun that doesn't have hilariously tiny bullets or humorously large bullets
I don't know dick about much of anything but doesn't a subsonic round in this caliber defeat the best feature of the round?
yes
5.7 subsonic is a very sophisticated 22LR
60gr Aguila SSS can't beat a IIIA soft armor vest, but 55gr SB193 5.7 can
To be entirely fully honest though, I'd rather shoot 50 rounds of Aguila. Its more fun..
