From a military and weapons perspective would Putin have been better off ignoring Ukraine and taking Georgia instead? Or was the fear Ukraine would be even more reinforced with Western equipment in a future date? Georgia is sliding closer and closer to Russia as we speak so it seems a more logical target.
Could Russia go for it now?
link article or gtfo
Retarded clickbait headline. They can’t even take one city anymore, yet alone a country the size of a pribaltika state
Even today, Russia could absolutely take over Georgia if they are left to fight by themselves. In case of another Russian invasion, their only chance is to get other countries to intervene
Which will almost certainly happen.
Turkey does not want to lose us as a lifeline to Azerbaijan, so I'm I fully expecting their intervention.
My God I would get so hard. Only con is when Turkey is able to cuck Russia they'll go full Neo-Ottoman ambitions sperg all over the damn internet
Eh, let Turkey expand into the Middle East and annex back their old clay there.
Georgia has less than 4 million people and its military is practically non-existent. This isn't Ukraine, Russia could easily swallow it.
I think you don't get the order:
1. Ukraine
2. Moldova
3. Georgia
4. Baltics
don't forget kazakstan
Finland is in that political doctrine also. Which I find fascinating... they want to take over... Finland.
It was part of the old empire.
Everything was part of Russia once. We are all guilty of stealing Russian land. Especially those of us who were here before the Russians arrived.
WE
WUZ
MONGOLS
N'
SHIIIEETTTT!
n' VIKANGS!
Don't forget that Atlantic crossing. It really is Nigeria with snow.
Is Russia populated entirely by schizos or what?
There's unironically a lot of undiagnosed borderline personality disorder due to alcoholism, bad parenting. It's why they have this culture of "we love you so much that we will bomb and murder you until you love us back"
>alias (partially)
I don't understand.
>Look up Perm alphabet
Haha benis :DDDDD
:DDD
It's just a slippery slope. Russia would end in Portugal if it was up to them, the expansion stopping point is wherever a strong enough opposition shows up.
they want to kill and exterminate everybody until there is nothing left but russki mir. Specially those who are doing way better then they are which means whole of euro is on the top of the hit list
The baltics are all nato aligned so I doubt he’s that stupid
The idea is that they take over Latvia and Lithuania then leave Estonia as an isolated consolation prize for the west. The whole premise is based on Dugins 'Foundations of Geopolitics' which was written before the baltics joined NATO.
>Dugin
What insane asylum did Russia find that guy, lol?
>The whole premise is based on Dugins 'Foundations of Geopolitics'
You mean Ivan Ilyins ideas. I know it's a long video, but it explains the Russian mindset better than most books - they're even more loathsome than most people assume.
invading ukraine was an incredibly stupid idea too
they think they can quickly bum rush them and encircle the small local foreign detachments before anybody can react. For locals they view in contempt and think they wont do shit. Like they thought Ukraine is easy prey
The baltics are in nato, not nato aligned
Estonia is no more or less nato than the other two.
thats why the list ends here anon
>The baltics are all nato aligned so I doubt he’s that stupid
The idea was that Germany would crumble, thus fracturing Western solidarity. Russia wants to slowly absorb all these satellite ex-Soviet nations.
>be Putin, a (gnomish) fingol
>be too afraid to invade fingolia
Did his dad rape him or something?
Why doesn’t Finland make that list. Every Russian regime has to invade Finland at least once before it dies.
Putin is a Finnish agent sent to destroy the Russian state from the inside. So far he's doing a great job.
they literally made a propaganda video showing how based baltics are so this is true.
5. FINLAND
Georgia offers literally nothing. If anything, it makes it easier to set up an insurgency in the Caucasus by linking up with anti-Russian/anti-Kadyrov elements in Chechnya and Dagestan
Georgia's got a gas pipe running through the country. aside from that, Most of the Georgians that I've talked want to be helpful to the nato states. Their countrymen sell resource-rich land to our contractors for literal PENNIES and They've got every category checked for when it comes to transitioning into a neolib colony. hell, they already are something of that sort. They're a very good ally of the U.S.
no wonder the bill is the talk of the town in DC. pretty stupid law, anyway. I know that their current gov is financially supported by the Russians, but what were they thinking?
I know this isn't 4chan, but warfare and politics go hand in hand. what do you think about this whole ordeal? haven't talked to anyone yet. the people I know say that implementing the law would be a good thing. humming the entire conservative contrarian package into other people's ears
>Most of the Georgians that I've talked want to be helpful to the nato states
You mean pretty much ALL Georgians? Them guys hate Russia through and through
You get the occasional senile retard that really thinks that Russia is actually the best nation in the world with strong Orthodox values. Those people are mostly old people that still use facebook. Thankfully in the minority now.
I don't doubt it but when I was there you didn't find georgian vatniks very readily, especially not in the cities
I just don't see the point of labelling them a Foreign Agent.
I get asking media companies to publicly announce where they get their funding from, so you can work out what their most likely bias is going to be in their stories, but labelling them as basically spies and fifth columnists because foreigners help fund them is just stupid, as it automatically assumes that anyone who isn't in the current government's pocket is an enemy of the state.
The only possible excuse I could see could be as a dog whistle to the Russians to say "Hey there fellow authoritarians, look at how oppressive and Neo-Soviet we are. Certainly no Westernisation going on here, don't you worry. Have no fear, we're still in your orbit and will be for the foreseeable future."
Georgian women are dimes
prove it
It'S the ultra-cope, attempting to get a victory in Georgia to downplay the utter failure in Ukraine.
The Vatniks will cheer, 4chan will celebrate their Overlord's 'victory'.
In actual fact it will be a bloody guerilla war with the goal of destabiliziung the region to indirectly attack Turkey's eastern flank.
The Caucasus region is a serious shitshow waiting to happen now that Russia showed its weakness.
>It'S the ultra-cope, attempting to get a victory in Georgia to downplay the utter failure in Ukraine.
This, which frankly makes it more likely unfortunately for Georgians. Lots of people this past year have been saying how Tsar Monke might chimp out further and use nukes if losing in Ukraine. But while sure he seems to have gone to total shit mentally, the risks of nukes are still stupid, obviously high.
In comparison to nukes, launching a new war against Georgia is practically risk-free to putin. He doesn't care about lives lost. Unlike Ukraine, Georgia is far more isolated from the West. Turkey has a chunk of border but Turkey is hot/cold on Russia, is a basketcase itself right now, and is unlikely to offer anything like the kind of support through its borders as Poland and all the rest. Russia has already secured a big path through the mountains with its little green men breakaway region. It has "allies" sharing border as well. Georgia is tiny vs Ukraine. And the Georgia Dream leading party in power is pro-Russia and made by a billionaire who is a potential easy corruption target.
So as far as desperation cope moves go, it sucks but Georgia looks like a relatively softer fallback target. Their big saving grace is Russia has expended so much in Ukraine already, and fresh off a Ukrainian victory NATO would probably be a lot more inclined to try to feed Georgia insurgency weapons at least. Still a bad position to be in though.
I think you’re reading the room wrong on Turkey.
They want to ensure the Caucasus stay as a buffer.
If Russia takes Georgia, that would immediately put Russian forces near their border. If Russia was to make moves on Armenia too, it would threaten their friendship with Azerbaijan.
Iran has a similar stake as well, they might be willing to support Russia in Ukraine but if they make moves in the Caucasus they’ll get upset.
The region has been fought over for centuries between the three powers and the post soviet status quo was beneficial for Iran and Turkey.
Georgia has always been an easy target. It's tiny in comparison to Ukraine and is geographically isolated from Europe and the West. Even in its reduced state Russia can probably still roll over them.
If they can roll over them it's because they have their puppets in charge. Kinda like what happened in Kherson.
Actually Kazakhstan is next
Kazakhstan is now a western ally
t. knower
>Kazakhstan is now a western ally
That's why it's next, probably.
>Kazakhstan
Is Russia trying to remake one of my favorite FPS games?
Huh I thought they whould align more with China
They kinda were for a while, but with Russia being weak there's less incentive to have China back them up.
Doubt they're too happy about their cousins getting genocided either. On one border they've got Russians lusting for their clay, on the other they've got Xi putting Uyghurs (and ethnic Kazakhs) in camps. I'd be looking for better options too.
I'll be honest with you, I have no idea what Kazakhstan is up to.
Tokayev is playing underwater 6d chess. I can't really tell who he is allying with.
Kazakhstan is just in a really shit position no matter how you slice it. It's a successful nation compared to all the others around it, but bordered by both Russia and China who want to keep it firmly within their orbit. The other -stans are busy fighting each other to form some kind of mutual alliance, made even worse now that Afghanistan might be looking to pick fights now that the Americans have packed up. Russia is a sinking ship that could absolutely lash out in anger if you play your cards wrong, while China is putting your kin in camps right over the border. Trying to ally with the West makes sense from a certain standpoint—they're the ones least likely to try and ethnically cleanse you—but they're far away and you have no ocean access either.
I will fight for Kazakhstan.
ratatouile looking ass
Khazak girls are peak homely exotic Asian hot. Physically sturdier than East Asian girls too. I’ve had dreams of dying in the steppes since I was a kid. Hopefully it’s after a successful career bouncing from mountain to mountain as a dually elected town(s) rapist by the peoples there.
Lost.
>t.
They're a west/China ally and daddy Xi will never let them down since they play a big role in the new silk road
Kazakhstan is about as real as nukes.
Remember Kazakhstan is also a fake country just like Ukraine.
https://www.rferl.org/a/kazakhstan-putin-history-reaction-nation/26565141.html
>"The Kazakhs never had any statehood," Putin said during a meeting on August 29.
He credited Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbaev with creating "a state in a territory that had never had a state before."
>Vladimir Zhirinovsky -- who has built his political fortune on outrageous nationalistic and racist rhetoric -- noted there were many cities in Kazakhstan with Russian names.
https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-lawmakers-question-kazakhstan-territorial-integrity-statehood/31003732.html
>Kazakhstan simply did not exist as a country, its northern territories were basically uninhabited," and that areas "further down south [in present-day Kazakhstan], most of the territories were basically given as a gift to [the Kazakhs] by the Soviet Union, by Russia."
The Khazars have been there since the sixth fucking century you worthless Russian fuck. Nuke Russia.
That's not how it works, retard. Might as well say the US historically never had a state by pointing to its pre settler history
>Russia losing for badly they can easily target and invade a new country
You have to be British or American to be this stupid.
>Implying that invading Ukraine is comparable to invading Georgia
You have to be some redditor to talk with so much confidence about something that you don't seem to have the most basic understanding about
So which one are you, British or American? Since you're clearly stupid if you think there is no difference between Georgia and Ukraine. Like, I would almost say you're even dumber than the two you mentioned. But that would be impossible, considering your post.
But then again, maybe you're unique.
>Russia losing for badly
>for badly
Well we at least know you're not British or American because you're clearly a brown ESL. You do realise Georgia has an active military of 37,000, right? For reference, Wagner lost 50,000 attacking Bakhmut. That's their total professional force. They then have 100,000 'territorial reservists' which are not going to be trained or well equipped. They have a total of 66 aircraft (only 36 are in a state of readiness to actually be used). 38 helicopters (only 21 ready). 234 tanks (134 ready). 103 SPG (57 ready). 173 towed artillery (95 ready). 165 MLRS (91 ready).
Yeah man Russia would be absolutely destroyed. Even as they are Russia could fucking steamroll Georgia without outside help.
Calling it, Belarus next sometime this year. We'll see Lukashenko fleeing via helicopter. Steven Seagal will be left behind blocking the door to the roof against the protesters
Good luck.
Russia's current mission seems to be "speedrun losing any remaining goodwill with our former subjects."
>Russia's current mission seems to be "speedrun losing any remaining goodwill with our former subjects."
//current// mission?
They've been pissing off their neighbors since before the formation of the Soviet Union. Stalinism was merely the "peak" of the Imma-gonna-fuck-up-everone-elses-day mountain.
I mean, yeah, but from '91 on there was something of an assumption that Moscow was gonna mend their ways and not fuck around with everyone. Then Chechnya happened and the mask started falling off.
Kek u just reminded of Russia allowing them to invade any communist country that does not follow 'true communist' as defined by themselves.

Dont need goodwill with brutal repression and deporting everyone who disagrees in classic russian fashion

Your language is not of this earth, solar system, galaxy, universe, or dimension.
>Russia
>caring about goodwill
just a brief skim through their history suggests they couldn't give a fuck about winning hearts and minds, in fact they want you to get uppity just so they have an excuse to kill you.
It would have been sensible to literally not waste a single ruble to defend Russia with an army. Disband the army, you have nukes, no one's risking an invasion. Make USA and Eastern Europe look like fucking retards for doomposting about you, Eastern Yuros don't want no trabble anyway, no one's gonna invade. Conquer Ukraine culturally , they speak your fucking language and are next door, they referred to you as fucking brothers.
But Russia had to LARP as a global superpower.
For that to even be feasable in this century Russia would need to have a functioning government and society, not the shithole they spent 3 decades creating.
Russia is the student who never studied but expects everyone to regard him as hot shit because of his lineage.
to have natural pull you need to be better then your surroundings. Russhitia is the literal opposite of that, being only mildly attractive to central asian churkastans only which has now reversed
While Georgia is smaller than Ukraine with only 10 million people they would be fighting a state where behind every blade of grass there would be a rifle. It's like that one Jap from ww2 said, no one can invade the mainland without fighting the stiffest resistance. Also the other states around Georgia would help them out.
??? WTF Georgia only has 3 million people...
The confusion happened the first time too.
God how does somebody from an English speaking nation butcher the language so much.
lack of education
>yahoo answers
being 7 in 2008 anon, if you think kids using discord is bad /b/ and yahoo answers were so much worse
Have you ever been to Georgia?
1337speak was popular back then.
>1337speak was popular back then.
it still is, my dude, you have no idea how many people I trigger on daily basis. Maybe thats why Im alone
>i don't see russia
>not even sound
Yeah, i wonder why you can't SEE russian SOUND in the US state Georgia. Really, no idea.
>he's talking about the state
Yeah, we’re not talking about a person?
Weak bate.
>can't win against St. Olga
>go after St. Tamar instead
Idiot move. Those mountain passes would be death traps, assuming the Georgians have updated their arsenal since '08.
>assuming the Georgians have updated their arsenal since '08.
The only difference is more grenade dropping drones.
They've been breddy effective, so that's that.
Not to mention, they would need to close the front in Ukraine first and have a decisive enough peace to be sure that their backside isn't vulnerable. And I'm sure the Ukies would happily offload Stingers and NLAWs on the Georgians. Russia just needed to keep making NATO look pointless, but now they've made it important again. Idiot move.
Doubt it. They’re not exactly loaded with cash to spend on updating their military. Only real thing they can hope for is to go full terrorist mode
>Those mountain passes would be death traps
You mean the shit Georgia doesn't control?
...has this thread not happened before? Even replies I'm seeing seem to be the same as I remember.
Meds.
Vatniks just can't come up with anything new.
it's true, picrel is a biolab worker going to work in his hazmat gear
How could Georgia beef up it's military? How would (you) go about it?
NATO allies have supported Ukraine with military, financial and economic support in the amount of about 150 billion euros over the last year," Stoltenberg added.
step 1: remove vatmoron government
step 2: ???
step 3: PROFIT
But Putin's mother was gnomish. Why do you think he let his daughter marry a garden gnome?
Better Kazakhstan. They have gas, oil and ores.
Georgia is poor fucking country.
>Georgia is poor fucking country
It's a lacking country but they're better off than it seems. Rural parts have it the hardest, but investments under he-who-shall-not-be-named did raise standards in at least the cities
>he-who-shall-not-be-named
Shaka-laka-shvili?
>heckin voldemort and the heckin storm troopers
Anon you're the one outing yourself as a fool here
>Russia eyeing Georgia again
I can’t wait for Gen Z to recreate this classic moment.
>Could Russia go for it now?
With what soldiers, lol
iv8888 and that fegg0t warrior poet guy would defeat putin in 12 minutes if he tried to take georgia
THIS is it. This is what Ukraine needs to keep doing. Turn the Russian troops against their own commanders.
https://www.thedailybeast.com/russian-soldiers-filmed-threatening-to-turn-weapons-on-commanders-in-ukraine
I have this feeling that in a year or two we'll be seeing unironic headlines asking "Can Russia regain control of Russia?"
Russian society is breaking down under the strain of this stupid fucking war, like the Vietnam Conflict on steroids.
What strain? A few Buryats and convicts won't be missed.
It's thinking like this that has been losing you the war.
georgian women are hot
I remember very clearly Russia invading an annexing Georgia some years ago, a while before Crimea.
Specifically, they cut off the power grid and internet of that country putting them in a media blackout before rolling in and reclaiming the territory.
What the actual fuck? I remember this clear as day.
They've continued to do it too.
Border shacks and fences will just suddenly move overnight.
You're right about the invasion, but they didn't annex all of Georgia, just two meme separatist republics (sound familiar?): South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
Pretty standard strategy of Russia for the last few decades. Invade a country and create pseudo republics that will put country in perpetual conflict and deny it any chance or security and join NATO. Then keep planning and preparing for proper annexation.
Now they can't even finish the first step.
I don't think they're going for a full annexation. They didn't in 2008 and didn't even try during the intervening time between that and Ukraine. Seems pretty clear they really did just want a buffer and to keep them out of nato
As a burger born in Georgia (never moving back) Russia can have it.
Fucking how? I swear this NATO fear mongering shit is done by literal retards
Before they get to Georgia, they'll be invading New York. It's just a couple of miles south-west of Bakhmut.
We all should know the difference between the country of Georgia in the Caucasus and the US state...
>man choking to death in restaurant asks for the dessert menu
I love people who post that satirical sketch as legit. The only way it is 'legit' is that it had to played serious enough that the censors wouldn't yeet it (and then yeet you out a window).
>I love people who post that satirical sketch as legit.
Doubt that it is sarcastic. Russoids irl are this retarded and delusionally arrogant
Yeah, I watched this video. I know this looks very goofy, but you underestimate their narcissistic retardation
Because it is legit, пидopaшкa. I know Russian and live in the Baltics. Up until we had ruski mir television banned we had talkshows on every mainstream Russian channel barking that exact shit. Some was subtle, some was them screaming to throw nukes at Washington. But we had it for DECADES.
Soloveiv, that other bitch and their friends are now, for a full year mouthspamming about expanding the "Empire", flinging nukes in random directions and assuring their population of vatnik retards that they have China and India in the bag like loyal slaves.
Even if that particular clip was comedic satire (prolly from before the 10s), it's literally standing in front of 20 unironic serious ones made in the same day.
Anon, there are russoids that unironically post it.
The difference in Georgia is that they have the government completely compromised, and any resistance will come from the general population. In fact they're already revolting.
Bullshit. If those dumbass ruskies try to red dawn us well kick their commie asses off our dirt so fucking fast they’ll bounce back to middle eastern europe. Hell if they bomb Atlanta that might be an improvement though.
>Could Russia go for it now?
Yeah, sure they could, and they would lose another 100k men in the process and futilely threaten the west with nuclear annihilation while getting their asses kicked.
i thought russia was winning
IF MISTER PUTIN WANTS TO INVADE GEORGIA
WE'LL BE WAITING HERE WITH GUNS
(I LIVE IN ATLANTA)
RUSSIA'S GHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY
>I'm bored with losing on one front, I should open another
do dictators really?
>New Bill already being revoked
Lost cause for whom ?
Right now it's a lost cause for NATO. They keep sending billions and achieve nothing, Ukraine still has lost 20% of it's territory and will never gain it back. They have no men anymore.
>meanwhile, Russia no longer has any real offensive capabilities and is relying on tanks from when Stalin was alive
Georgia makes globohomo seethe, and has no value to the russians. South Ossetia is what they needed.
>Georgia is sliding closer and closer to Russia as we speak
The public just stormed parliament and more or less gave them a choice between the Georgian public or following Russia's will and being killed.
