How would you feel 20 years ago being told that an FPS set in 2022 would have this as a vehicular enemy?

As a post-apoc setting it would have mades sense, that or something involving religion of peace militants

Is there some armored capsule inside or could this guy just get shot in the dick through the window?

      Anonymous

probably the latter, and even the gunshield may or may not actually be armored

that said if you're being conscripted to deliver ancient Soviet shells to the front in a Buhanka, you might as well do it in an armed Buhanka

Does this count as a technical?

      Technically

      Anonymous

I'd accept it. The real question is, if someone is standing in the back of a truck with a Javelin, is that a technical? Or does the weapon have to be hard mounted to the vehicle?

        Anonymous

In my opinion the weapon system doesn't have to be hard mounted, but there does need to be some kind of modification to the vehicle itself in order to count as a technical. Otherwise things devolve to the point where a Camry with the windows rolled down for use in a drive by is a technical.

        Anonymous

Weapon has to be hard mounted and the vehicle has to have not originally been designed with mounting weapons in mind - IE had been civilian or civilian-like.
        >Humveee or mutt jeep with a m2?
        Not a technical
        >Pickup truck with an M2?
        Technical.

Now if you've up-armed a jeep and added some field-rigging additional guns it gets tricky. I personally say no as it was still intended to be a military vehicle. If it was originally an unarmed military jeep and then you add guns I feel like it's rule lawyering and still ultimately not a technical. Where it gets tricky is a military old fashioned truck with such guns then ersatz'd onto it.

Ultimately though that's technical details. In the field you see any kind of automobile with a gun and it's not a humvee or mrap and you go "That's a technical".

I love the aesthetics of this war of slavshit + NATO cold war hand me downs like Scimitars, MG3s, M113s, Carl Gustavs,LAWs and M60s

Agreed, I'm just waiting for the wacky mixed mechanized units Ukraine will eventually have to field for offensive operations

yeah I really wish get to see those 40 British cold war CVRT operating as nature intended as recon elements

I want to see a Spartan turned into a speedy little ATGM carrier with a Javelin welded to the roof and guys with RPG-26s in the back.

There have been Spartan pics, but I wish something actually materialized from the "5 of each CVRT" autism UK did (if they even ended up delivering them). Would love to see them actually be useful, and at the same time that would vindicate our semi-moronic purchase of them.

I don't like how Mitch is looking at Biden

As far as I am aware, this pic was actually taken during some kind of Ukraine aid meeting.
Both of those fricking mongs lived the majority of their lives with Russia existing as the primary bogeyman.
Like, there were probably entire years for both of them where they thought about how best to eventually curbstomp Russia into the earth's crust literally multiple times a day.
            Now, it is happening.
This must be like a fricking continuous orgasm for them both, like grabbing the monkey that's been hanging off your back for fifty years by the throat and punting it like a football into the sun.

              Anonymous

You'd have to be brain dead if you think that Biden has any idea what's going on.

                Anonymous

He doesn't need to have any idea what is going on.
Mitch just has to say "Hey we totally fricking economically bodied the largest country in the world for the next fifty years by forcing their hand in an impossibly expensive clusterfrick, in a country roughly the same size as Afghanistan. Do you want to hold the bat for the press release or should I?"

      Yes, and?
Putting a gun on a buhanka is still moronic.
The Ukkies at least have the excuse of being the impoverished underdog using anything they can.

You have to already be moronic to ride in a buhanka voluntarily. But to modify this already to-heavy piece of shit with a weapon station is some sort of recursive moronation.
