he didnt build it dummy, its one of those shitty assemble yourself with a screwdriver and shitty camlock system desks. if OP wanted to repair it proper he would have drilled screws from underneat into the panel instead of shitty L brackets exposed on top that looks like shit.
sorry pals, i was too lazy to read the whole thread

it was pretty handy to do hyperextensions on it until it got fricked up by added +40kilos, today it handled even that so all in all it's better than it was 😀
As much as all that bathroom sucked it allowed me access to wire these damn lights wife wanted in correctly, laziness on not cutting chains and routing them to the middle former light.
I fricking hate PEX. I would much rather have copper, frick I’d probably want galvanized over pex. If my basement wasn’t finished I’d tear all that shit pex out of my house. Instead I just run the water for a several minutes prior to drinking any of it.
who the frick drinks water right from the faucet? at least use a filtration system or buy bottled water.
>PEX is a very reliable pipe.
It is not reliable at all.
Copper is reliable, galvanized is reliable, even stainless is reliable.
PEX is not reliable, water will frick it over somewhat fast. It becomes brittle. And it is a problem of all plastic pipes, PVC, PEX, PP-R, HDPE (yep, city water lines are failing after just 10 years after being put in service for unknown reasons and weird failures, compare that to 60 year old cast iron).
That said, if your water corrodes zinc and copper somewhat fast - PEX (or any plastic) will outlast your metal pipes.

Galvanized is actually pretty remarkable. Just pain in the ass to install, because you cut threads...

Depends on water. Acidic water will frick up metal pipes, so in this case you can use plastic shit because why waste money on something that would get fricked in same short 20 years or less, when there is a plastic that will last exact same 20 years or maybe even more.
But if you know water in your area doesn't attack copper - I've doubts PEX will last 100 years you know.

PEX is OK. Problem in my ares is that all the scammers are talking old people into ripping out all their copper and putting in PEX. Because it's easier for retrofit. So PEX is associated with scams.
they were copper also. hence the scam to replace copper pipes with pex. cause thats the scam they convince someone the copper pipes are old and will leak and replace them with pex and not only charging for this, scrap the copper which is very valuable

Only 3 feet of copper was replaced cause it was busted, by your logic I should of kept the knob and tube in place.

yeah but you missing the point. scammers will offer to repipe your ENTIRE home and replace all the copper with pex. they sell you the pex charge to install it, and scrap the copper which is more valuable than the pex they charged you for.

I just said shit might not last as much as you expect it, especially compared to 100+ year old technology. Except that one case when your water well is pure acid, in which case plastic is the only reasonable option.

Hihi, I havent built it, I repaired it.

Congratulations on putting a couple screws into some particle board. You truly are a natural craftsman.
thank you anon, really appreciate the kind words
He didn't throw it away and buy a whole new desk like a normie moron, that's got to be worth something.
My sarcastic comment was not directed towards what he did, but rather that he thought it warranted creating a thread here about it.
Hell yeah it did, it's a masterpiece god dammit.
Kinda neat as a free fix since those brackets are obviously scavenged. It's ugly though.
form before function my man, the point was so the table can handle my weight plus added weight when I use it as an exercise platform.
thank you!
>exercise platform

it was pretty handy to do hyperextensions on it until it got fricked up by added +40kilos, today it handled even that so all in all it's better than it was 😀
I'm proud of you anon.
good job anon
thanks man!
Me too
PEX is a war crime
PEX is a very reliable pipe. where the frick have you been for the last 2 decades.

I don't drink from shower or sink, RO will be at consumable water spot.
