You mean real British math?
Anyway most a serious shooters are goin mil instead of moa so even in this realm metric is winning
*calibre
*maths
Math is both singular and plural, illiterate moron.
Who is Math?
Older brother of Meth, Mith, Moth, Muth, and sometimes Myth
What even is ‘mil’? Didn’t know that euros had their own unit for this. Kind of weird since MOA is literally just 1/60th of a degree, didn’t realize metric and imperial would even differ here
"Mil" is short for "milliradian". It is based on radians, which are fire support measurements. One mil is 1/6283.125 of a circle, which comes out to around 3 MOA. It's like the inch/foot to Metric's mm/cm: more usable lengths for faster usage. Rather than adjusting 9 clicks left with MOA adjustments, you only have to do 3 clicks left with mils.
>British math
metric is a french invention
I was referring to imperial which is British.
Only pilots use their hands and fingers to measure things like monke. Imperial is only display units all actual systems run in metric. Fun fact: aviation would be all metric if not for usaf boomers
t. Someone who suffers from having to work with those shitty units.
We also have aircraft, petroleum, electrical wire, and cooking.
All those are measured in metrics first and then converted to Imperial so fattys can comprehend. Face it, everything STEM has switched to metrics long ago.
Post gun
look up the definition of an inch.
10mm is KINO
10mm can be stopped by even lvl2 armor. yeah dude totally based weak as shitpiss
No. All of NASA's shit is still in American units.
Aeronautics
both in the sense that NASA uses feet, inches, thou, etc
and that most of the world, even the euros uses feet, nautical miles, knots etc for flight
The Russians use metric for flight. It's literally the only intelligent thing they've ever done.
For me, it’s the .454 casull
I speak with a northern US accent while using british pronounciations.
I say lee-ver, unless I am talking about levv-er action rifles. I don't think that it's inentional. I think that bongs never talk about lever action rifles, so their pronounciation has affected me in the phrase "lever-action."
Wheels still measured in IN on cars.
and the inch is defined by its metric value. US customary = metric with extra steps.
I will never understand this autism
When has it mattered to you, or to literally anyone else in this thread, or to literally anyone else you have ever met in your entire life what the defined basis for the measurements you use are? Pro-tip: it fricking doesn’t
As long as there is an agreed upon standard that all of your measuring tools are built on, it means absolutely frickall whether you’re basing it off of the size of some scientific autism or the size of some specific guy’s pinkie toe. It means fricking nothing
Metric and imperial are both equally arbitrary and neither are more or less precise than each other, they’re just different sets of units with different values.
If I hear one more moron who has never even held a tape measure before try to tell me that the US urgently needs to switch to the metric system I think I’m going to go postal
It's not about precision, dummy, it's about unit conversions. Try doing any sort of physics in imperial units without immediately wanting to have a nice day
>I will never understand this autism
it's just predditor cope, they're mad the toilets they got swirlies in reported flushes in gallons and not liters.
>Metric and imperial are both equally arbitrary and neither are more or less precise than each other
metric makes certain scientific arithmetic a little simpler because of how the definitions for different units are related. ie the volume and mass of water, but outside of a lab or software simulation this doesn't matter to anyone.
yards and meters are equally useful in practice, every other unit is arbitrary and Fahrenheit would be perfect for daily use if it were actually calibrated such that humans were 100 degrees and water's freezing point were 0.
daily reminder that astronomical units and lightyears are both customary units lmao
>Fahrenheit would be perfect for daily use if it were actually calibrated such that humans were 100 degrees and water's freezing point were 0.
You mean similarly to how water freezes at 0°C and boils at 100°C?
Yeah, doesn't matter.
Thats why I have one spanner labelled 95 mm which fits every fricking 95mm bolts, nuts and pipe and three labeled 3/8" which I have to fiddle around to find that one that will fricking fit to 3/8" bolt
