For private use, an F-14, F-15EX, F-16 or that F-36 project (if it's real) would probably be better. Hell you could make an argument for the gripen cause then you don't have to store it at an airfield (although I doubt it would be nearly as fun to fly)
It is overkill for our airforce, we'd be a lot better with F-15 EX or F/A-18s. We ain't gonna kill Peruvian S-125's with F-35's, we gonna do it with some jury-rigged AGM-65 with a semi active seeker.
Yes
Though i've heard the maintenance is a b***h and has tons of proprietary software locks so you can't take it to your local aircraft mechanic.
Maint is supposed to be easier than on any other aircraft.
Sure for your local military that is flying them and has maintenance contracts with Lockheed.
Do YOU have that access?
If I'm even on the list of people that can buy 1 for private ownership, I do.
You buy the aircraft and you get the logistics and maint contract with it.
A government and or military does.
Are you a government and or military?
No.
This causes low readiness levels.
No, I just want to rent it.
I can't fly it so no.
>I can't fly
No problem
RIP, Skyking
Anon, that won't be a problem.
Would rather have a T-38 or an L-39 honestly.
They've got basically identical range, but the T-38 can go 850mph+ whereas the L-39 tops out at around 450mph.
Also the T-38 service ceiling is like 15-20k feet higher.
L-39 is a lot easier to fly though.
Sure, but I feel like the learning curve goes away pretty quickly for an aircraft I'm going to own.
If I had to choose which to own, T-38 every time.
If I had to choose which I would rather be in for my first flight then L-39. But long term it's a much more boring plane.
Yes, obviously, I'm not gay or a woman. First thing I'd do with it a quick jaunt over the Detroit River to strafe Canada.
Actually I'd probably strafe Detroit itself on the way back too.
I might have to trade in my Ford to afford the F35, what’s the best you can do for a 2004 Explorer with 175k on the dial?
>Explorer
Solid fricking vehicle, would trade for F-35
Sure. I'll give you 50 bucks for it.
I'd like it for two hours.
No, four.
Also some alcohol and some jet fuel. And a gallon of aviation-grade lubricant.
No, don't ask why.
>soulless Lockheed shit
I prefer Grumman and McDonald Douglas

I'd like a sample for evaluation, please.
My country can barely afford roads let alone a fresh 5th gen jet. I'll stick to my 40 year old soviet shitboxes.
I really really want a mig 21, damn
Mig-21 is nice. But this bad boy right here has the same janky rocket formfactor, but with *variable geometry*.
Sorry bro russia will need these to make Su-75A
no thank you my friend
Just want to learn how to fly one
DO NOT FRICKING REDEEM
