      oh shit they're actually not far off 1% the speed of light wtfffffffffff

      What the frick are you two talking about? 1% speed of light is almost 3 million m/s. There's no rail gun that goes that fast, they're more like 2500. Do you people just not understand large numbers?

        show me a railgun that can do 3000km/s

        morons. they're doing 3000 METERS per second, not KILOMETERS

          and WE'RE talking about 6.7 million miles per hour, please keep up with the discourse, anon.

    psure something going that fast would explode on contact with the atmosphere and kill you

          air resistance isn't a problem if you have a good enough ballistic coefficient

        Ok frick it, I'll bite and be the fricking Kindergarten teacher here.
        c = 300000kmh
        Divide by 100
        =3000
        Divide by 100
        =30

    Only thing I could think of is a Casaba howitzer, which is more akin to an EFP.
    AFAIK, Combustible light gas guns hold the record for theoretical projectile speed at 7-8 km/s. Not even close.

    Probably. Just gotta remember newton's third law so that going to be a frick ton of energy needed to propel an object at such speeds.
