Would it be beneficial for Ukraine if it started employing human wave tactics instead of sustained, mesured pushes?

It's good to hear that Ukraine is acting cautiously and seeking to save the lives of her soldiers instead of bending over to different sources of pressure that only wish to see the map getting coloured blue regardless of costs.

Also that's assuming the offensive works and isn't an abysmal failure, where the same morons would then pressure Ukraine to surrender territory.

      >see the map getting coloured blue regardless of costs.
      That's how you win wars.

Even the US, now pussified beyond belief, used to just grit its teeth and throw men into the meatgrinder to push through.

Ukies already lost tens of millions since 1990s and since the 2014, 2022
Europe is flooded with Ukranian middle class and lower middle class women, kids. Ukraine and Russia will and are suffering from a demographic disaster.
Ukrainians will not come home, they got freebies in Europe, they will find jobs later and life is nicer.
Russia killed both countries, albeit they were both dying even before the war.
Only thing that is preventing Russian total demographic collapse is the EU anti Russian sentiment - if the civil war kicks off there then EU will welcome the Russians. Germs need their cheap labour...at least they might slow down the import of Kenyans (they want to import 250k currently, and Arabs and Turks are stabbing each other at public pools and fist fighting )
Wasted potential of both Ukraine and Russia, they had natural resources and a big market and they screwed it up

This there is no point in taking the land and moving to peace until the Russian military has been disarmed as completely as possible. This is a huge win for Ukraines future and the futures of all the states neighbouring Russia. Schools, hospitals and roads instead of worrying about the 600 jets and 500 Russian APCs that got away. Total Zigger Death

the slowness criticism is all from misc. unnamed sources
I haven't seen this from anyone who knows what they're talking about and is willing to put their name/reputation on a comment
I guess "be patient" doesn't get the clicks/views that media prostitutes itself out for

I love how these incompetent morons post a photo of Ben and provide some unrelated quote from him as if HE is the one saying Ukraine should zerg rush and Russian troops will just lay down their arms
Dictators may suck but at least they hang journalists

every quote adjacent to the pic is attributed. it's not at all unclear which quote is from wallace.

if we're gonna kill journalists we gotta kill useless eaters and babies who don't wanna have to actually read the article, too.

They should conscript their women and kids as well. It's true in the end, they need more soldiers.

They must be civilian politicians. I've never heard people from military backgrounds saying anything other than Ukraine desperately needing a functional air force and/or more firepower.

They can both be right OP because NATO officials and Ukrainian ones face different goals.

NATO officials are right to suggest that a massive push might tip the scales here. A serious beautiful could result in a route and/or cause further moves against Putin before he can reconsolidate control after an embarrassing coup.

However, NATO officials don't face the risk of Russian conquest of such a push fails and Ukraine is left exhausted in the face of a new offensive and despite their desire to, NATO officials also can't give real assurances that there will be continued aid to replace losses in such a push.

Ukrainian officials have to worry about the war going on for years and shepherding their strength to repel any future Russia gains. They also have to worry about the post-war scene.

Ukraine could massively benefit through the mobilization of public support to beat back corruption tied to the war. The war could produce a new generation of leaders, young people able to rise due to the need to elevate people based on merit and win the war. A sense of shared sacrifice has historically allowed for huge shifts in equality and quality of governance. But you can also hollow out your human capital in a war that loses too much.

There is also the fact that taking on more devastated, heavily polluted land populated mostly by ethnic Russians at this point might hurt more than it helps. Same is even true of the gas, natural resource wealth often ups corruption with little benefit to development.

But access to the sea and destroying Putin are important goals, to be sure.
