Would a silver bullet really be effective against a werewolf?

Would a silver bullet really be effective against a werewolf? I know silver has magical effectiveness against them, but I mean, would the bullet fire and be a normal bullet?

It would have secondary effects. Biz would tear the werewolf apart to recover the bullet.

Before or after they beat it to death with burned out crypto mining rigs?

Shenanigans, they'd either resell them "as is" without listing anything as dead or melt down the chips for the gold in them.

And leave the perfectly good werewolf cadaver there that's worth way more than a fricking silver bullet? I'd take the werewolf body and name it "the Fed" because silver ends the Fed.

    Why not?

Its so you can fire 99% more bullet with every shot.

No. After hundreds of threads and thousands of hours of discussion /k/ now agrees that there's only one effective way to counter werewolves.
    >lure it into trap
    >tie it up
    >tame it with repeated and vigorous application of penor

Really a silver Jacketed bullet would do the trick, maybe even silver tipped. Also whoever made that image is a dingus because the casing definitely is a waste of silver.

Could be zinc plating or whatever they use for Silver Bear ammo.

Silver is nearly as dense and not that much harder than pure lead. It'll work just fine for bullets.

Yep, pretty much any reasonably stable metal or alloy can work for bullets. Monolithic copper or brass is genuinely popular as lead free alternatives. Zinc had its day for training rounds although it seems to have faded for some reason despite being really cheap.

But yeah, silver, gold or platinum even would all be fine purely on a material basis, they're just moronic expensive for the application is all and we don't actually have magic IRL.

I think it's inert, it's more for precious metal gays who think fiat will collapse and PMs will make a comeback.

        >I think it's inert
Yes, and? The bullet isn't supposed to undergo some chemical reaction, that's the gunpowder's job.

Silvers harder than brass by an order of magnitude. Better to have a silver tip similar to m855 so it doesn't bust your barrel to shit.

      Good thing bullets aren't brass.
Even then you're off by a bit on the hardness. Silver is the same hardness of the gilding metal in bullet jackets.

      >Silvers harder than brass by an order of magnitude.
Did you eat a lot of wall candy as a child anon? Silver has a Mohs hardness of 2.5. It's soft as frick. Normal stainless steel is more like 6-7.
      >gonna bust your barrel
We're talking about silver here not your mother.

A lot of times I see silver being used as projectiles, is that it prevents the monster from healing. Might now outright kill but will frick them up enough that you can behead them

It doesn't actually need to be completely made of silver, all you need it is a bit of silver in the alloy and you're good to go.

Does the entire bullet need to be silver? Would a silver jacket be sufficient? Or can there be just 1 gr of silver in the tip?

What are the mechanics of silver bullets? Does the silver need to touch flesh as is penetrates? Is the silver poisonous to werewolves? What happens if you icepick a werewolf with a silver bullet? Is silver alloy ok?

If you have some answers, please let me know by sundown.

For frick's sake, we've been over this a million times

    > 1.) Werewolves are real
    > 2.) Silver bullets do frickall against them compared to a regular bullet
    > 3.) Werewolves themselves made up the "silver bullet" rumor because it prevented masses of poor peasants from hunting them

The best way to kill a werewolf is with a standard big bore cartridge, the same as any other large mammal. .50 Beowulf in 350-400 grain is fine for a normal one, 600 grain is better if its an alpha.

based. do not listen to what the ~~*werewolves*~~ tell you is able to kill them.
