Hey frens, looking for some recommendations for work pants. I'm an electrician in burgerland
I've been wearing a pair of the Snickers 6903 for over 2 years and they are awesome. It's time for a new pair and wanted to see if there were any 'better' options out there.
>the less amount of cotton the better
>has to have some amount of integrated stretch
>knee pad pockets are a major plus
>prefer on the lighter weight side, if i find myself being cold i just put on some merino baselayers which is much better than always being stuck with heavier weight pants.
bump
don't bump here, if your shitty thread is of any interest it will be here for weeks (unfortunately).
nice digis
I personally like arborwear pants, these are the lightweight ones I wear in warmer months, and I have a pair of the Cedar Flex I rock in winter. both hold up very well as a carpenter for a GC.
https://arborwear.com/106533
They don't have kneepad pockets, but I find the pant material isn't that bad with kneepads, and perfectly fine with my kneeling pad.
There might be a lightweight pair on the site with the knee pad inserts, or at least double knees if you're really keen on it, but inserts are dorky as frick. Fitting for a sparky.
Wear the Ground flex pants in the summer and the Cedar flex in the winter.
Comfortable, well made, stylish Great pants.
>the less amount of cotton the better
if you grind and weld you need at least 60% of cotton or it will burn.
I unironically recommend Engelbert straus, have been using their es motion pants for a long time. They are light and have the knee pad pockets and stretch waist. 35% cotton
> if you grind and weld
He’s a sparky, they only weld incidentally (and accidentally)
you out here trying to get OP ostracized by his peers (rightfully so) and ridiculed by the whole jobsite with these clothes. Sparky's have a hard enough time socially on site.
I know your the same shill that posts this exact image every time. Their pants are fine. They just do some of that German folk culture shit to appeal to their biggest market, rural Germans
Take your meds, that's my shitty OC I made browsing that site for the first time.
I'm sure the pants are fine, I rocked a euro tool vest (bjornklader) for years at my last company and overall prefer it to a belt.
>Anyone here used the Occidental suspendavest?
considering picking one up, but the may just get another BJKLDR since it's about half the price.
Many framers still wear traditional clothing on the job site. It evolved for 100s of years to be just right for the job,
the pants are large in the bottom so you wont get wood chips and dust in you're shoes.
Maybe that's a regional thing, but framers wear what suits the seasonal conditions because they're working in the elements more than other trades.
In summer you often see them in shorts and sun hats, in colder months maybe lined jeans and definitely layers.
The cope is palatable, quit trying to justify these goofy ass imported clothes that we all know will provoke some shit from your peers and just own it.
>Synthetics
lol melt
>wool
good against fire, but lol itchy and lol hot
Not burn; it will melt into your skin (much worse).
Don't sneer but if you have a lidl in your area check out their work pants next time they have them for sale. I bought a pair a few years ago and are still going strong. Nowhere near the heavy duty quality as my snickers but they can take a lot of abuse and are much lighter. Them being only around 20 quid a pair was also nice
TrueWerk pants have all of the features you mentioned, although they're a bit pricy. Perkins Builder Brothers swears by that brand's stuff
cheapest pair of jeans you can find is what I use
dnno what sorta "Trade" work people do where their pants last years btw
Imagine only owning one pair of work pants and rolling around in the mud like some sort of filthy animal whilst on the job
>dubs guesses his trade
porta potty technician
i just buy jeans at Walmart. one pair for work one pair for home. i go through maybe three pairs of work pants a year. im a sparky as well.
why does anyone need work pants unless you're going to be wet or working in really hot conditions? and if it's hot just wear shorts.
Might sound like an old fart but they just don't make denim like they used to, all you can get these days for a decent price is that blended shit.
Also it is nice to have useable pockets
roundhouse work wear.
they make overalls, and jeans. they make some jackets and aprons also.
normal price for first quality is $59.00 does not matter if they are jeans or overalls.
I buy their seconds. $29.00 each and since I'm working in them, I don't mind an occasional fouled stich or slight mis-tint.
they have painters attire, brown duck and two colors of denim blue.
I exclusively buy their double knee line.
depends which industry and environment.
ill be monitoring this thread.
t. engineer
I just wear jeans.
BLÅKLÄDER
Wrangler ATG pants. They’re $30 at target. They are light, stretchy, and hold up pretty well to anything but sparks. I’m a commercial carpenter and that’s all i wear
second the Wrangler ATG, unless you're welding. Picrel
Just get some Dickie's and call it a day.
this ffs. ive never blown out a pair of dickies but shredded multiple denims
Traget's men's Denizen Jeans are my go to. They stretch, hold up shockingly well to abuse, light, and they are a really good price. It's something like 25 - 30 bucks for a pair. Usually you can get them on sale, too.
>target
Gaaaay
Yeah, fricking Groomers!

The Duluth Ballroom’s are the most comfortable jean I have ever worn
those snickers are S tier and considering they lasted you 2 years, you should just get another pair. 2 years is longer than any pair of work pants i've had last as an hvac apprentice.
Not OP, but also looking for some work pants: I need something that's mostly cotton though. Are jeans really just my best bet?
Engelbert Strauss
Tough and well designed
I find that lots of these pants look silly on manlets like me.
The model in the catalog always has long legs
I just wear Dickies
They last and are cheap
I have a pair of nylon pants from duluth trading that are super comfortable and have no cotton. You can order online since there's not many stores.
Get rustlers. They’re $11 at Walmart
Check out Heely Hansen-- chink shit, but some good products cheaply. I've had two pairs heavy canvas pants for 2-3 years now, no issues.
