This is what the Germans had at the beginning of WW2 kiddo. Also Churchill wasn't around properly in force until Africa/Italy and it was a brick shithouse of a tank that could absorb a lot of German fire.

lots of countries still used WW1-era equipment throughout the early war, solely because they just got out of the depression and needed whatever they had on hand
some WW1 gear was good enough to last the whole war, in fact

Crusader gets an unfairly bad reputation though, the ship with all the spare parts got sunk by the Italians, so they developed a reputation for being unreliable because they were literally impossible to maintain. Later in the war they served perfectly well as the base for support vehicles, but the reputation for being junk had already set in.

US forces were using WW1 and interwar stuff too, one of the main reasons they lost the Philippines was using old ass gear.
