Is it more accurate or has it any other adventage over a normal pistol with extended mag or is that all about the price and scary look?
Is it more accurate or has it any other adventage over a normal pistol with extended mag or is that all about the price and scary look?
why would they care about accuracy
they couldn’t even define the word
full auto on concealed carry inside their baggy trousers.
Because it was cheap, looked mean, and magazines of 20, 32, and 50 rounds exist for them.
It's NOT easy to convert to full auto.
The early Interdynamics KG-9 was an open bolt semi-automatic and it was VERY easy to convert, hence the ATF pressured them to change it to a closed bolt design, this being the KG-99.
Interdynamics did not sell that well and instead sold out their company to some guys which created Intratec. They made guns based on the KG-99, such as the Tec-9, DC-9, AB10, etc. These were all made to a much cheaper and cruder standard, but they were all closed bolt guns, and were not really easy to convert to machine pistols such as urban legend suggests.
This is essentially correct. Guns like these have been desired by gangbangers overall, but largely as trophy weapons, because they're cool (and they do like to plink, shooting is fun). So Tyrone Biggums may be busted and have an an AK, a MAC-10 pistol, and a Tec-9, but he probably never used those in the commission of any of his crimes, and it's historically been pretty rare for them to have unregistered or stolen machineguns.
Thugs largely prefer normal handguns for the actual crimes part, because those are much easier to conceal on your person or hide in a car or something, and there's more budget options for them.
>It's NOT easy to convert to full auto
Ever actually looked inside one? While you sperg like an autist about the open bolt vs closed versions you obviously don't know how a tech 9 or ap9 function or you would know how easy they were to convert. They are poorly designed and simple.
plus you can just dump whatever shitty pistol you used after the fact, not gonna do that with a 'prestige' gun for flexing
Relatively large mag and cheap.
Also easy to convert to full auto.
Bro come on. I'm sure you can answer like 90% of that question by just looking at it.
Looked badass
My sister had one of those
>picrel: it's my sister
It's actually a piece of shit. It's not particularly accurate, it's not reliable, and it's not pleasant to shoot. I had pulled one out of storage (it had never been fired) and tried firing it for the first time. I had to replace the recoil buffer and it still didn't work right until I realized that the firing pin had moved out of place when I was putting it back together. It's a fricking turd of a gun. Gangsters love it because stupid people who value violence think looking scary is by itself a virtue.
This. One of these shitrods rolled into the shop the other day and it was by far the lowest quality, most unsafe piece of shit I've ever dealt with. The striker would drop if you shook the gun and the takedown pin would not hold the frame to the rest of the gun
Also, I had the not so bright idea to look up how to actually convert one of those into FA on Google and got this manual.

Since I'm on a list already, might as well share it.
Glow so bright.
Some liberals say barrel shroud makes it easier to shoot multiple targets but I don't know how.
Well some liberals say you can blow a lung out with a 9mm, so maybe we just don't talk about what liberals believe.
Holding the barrel shroud reduces muzzle rise which helps you make follow up shots faster.
It really wasn't, much like the Uzi or AKs when 90%+ of criminals were using .38 revolvers back in the 80s.
Ugh. Even mentioning an Uzi in the general literary proximity as a Tec-9 is irritating to me.
The Uzi is a genuinely good weapon, arguably in the top five 9mm subguns ever made, and the fact that people conflate the two somehow and think the Tec-9 must be "just as gud" is bothersome.
Anyone who has opened a tech 9 who isnt a tard will recognize how shit tier it is. Id take a hipoint over a tech 9 unless i thought hanging it up on my wall would bring in some black pussy.
>Ugh
I'd say you seem to get very upset about the silliest things, but let's face it, we all know you just wanted to post the silly-funny-ugly-face and this was the point (probably about two minutes into your search) where you simply couldn't wait for a better place to do it any more.
Idk, but riding a bmx bicycle while dual wielding them down Grove St will always be a good memory
Price and scary look. It was known for jamming a lot
Yeah, the magazines are somewhat iffy, particularly the aftermarket ones which you'd see a lot, those were complete trash.
The guns are also very picky about ammo, they don't like hollowpoints, and you're strongly advised to not shoot any ammo heavier than 124gr 9mm, because that will batter the flimsy plastic lower pretty harshly and make it crack.
If you find ammo it likes, use original magazines, and keep the thing clean as frick, it can actually run decently. The older Interdynamics guns are better put together, though not the most robust either, I'd keep an eye on the extractor, and avoid any projectiles heavier than 124gr anyway.
This will not do what you think it will.
Yes it will. It also has the risk of maybe firing out of battery though.
You have a seriously increased risk of this, as well as a seriously increased risk of failures to fire because the striker didn't stay wienered.
Fricking with the disconnector on closed-bolt semi-autos is not even remotely reliable as a ways to convert them to automatic weapons.
I agree 100 percent but thats why these were used. There are all manner of morons that cut their disconnectors off and its not safe. Ive had the bad luck of being present when somebody had one that was tampered with. It sheered the charging handle off becuase he had installed his own buffer pad that was to small and allowed the charging handle to hammer the reciever until it sheered. I didn't appreciate that he had modified it without telling me and fired it when i was present. These pieces of shit are very simple and people figured it out.
>not even remotely reliable
Easier than converting to open bolt
Converting it into an open-bolt gun would make it actually fricking work. I don't consider brief incidental strings of 1 to 3 rounds before it returns to repeated failures to fire and the odd out of battery detonation as a machine gun.
You won't run through even a single 10rd ban magazine without multiple hiccups and a risk of going blind for life.
>Converting it into an open-bolt gun
>without a mill
Good luck with that
Because they are extremely easy to make full auto. How safe is it? Idk but it works and if your not a moron you can easily machine a full auto bolt and modify the fire control group to fire open bolt.
Large mag, easy to illegally modify, intimidating look, and dirt cheap, at least in the early 90s.
I've always thought it weird how gang culture n all has such an emphasis on guns but it's more having guns on you than appreciating or using them I bet most shooters don't even clean their guns and the closest thing they do to practice is shooting in the air
but then again this is a culture where people get big by making a song insulting someone then get shot dead for it
Black person tier piece of open bolt trash.
White men use Maschinenpistole 5.
Of course, this fricker is wearing an Invicta watch
