You're not really doing yourself any favors, considering "this things has stuff you like in it!" literally is how you could manipulate someone into, say, watching a film that barely covers the stuff you like and then preaches to the audience about some writer or director's beliefs.
I would feel pretty manipulated if, say, I was told there was a Masters of the Universe show heavily featuring He-Man, and then it turned out He-Man was barely in the fricking things. I haven't actually watched that trash, nor do I particularly care about He-Man, but the example stands that truth can be used to manipulate people if it's not "the whole truth", per se.
But Bucky didn’t kill his parents, that’s a fact he refuses to acknowledge. Which is silly, because he’s intimately familiar with mind controlled allies.
While the audience knows Bucky had no autonomy or choice, the exact details of that mind control are not common knowledge. Cap can say "Hydra was mind controlling him" and Iron Man would be like "How do you know that?" and Cap would have to say "...cos?"
Even the security footage shows Bucky vacantly staring into the distance as he commits murder, it couldn’t possibly be more obvious that he’s being puppeteered

The thing about GT and Super is they're not really shows.
Dragonball(Z) filters midwits pretty hard. It's a genuine story with something to say. Almost kind of like the Bible.
Whereas GT and Super are just by-popular-demand cash grabs that just showcase dumb brawls and a million new dumb forms. The DB spinoffs are kind of like the Pokemon anime. Just pointless bullshit to sell adspace and merch opposed to a sincere story.
I'll give you that GT is infinitely better than Super. The animation is extremely soulful and I like the Mark Menza score, I also like Uub, wish we got to see him as an adult if even for 1 episode in DBZ.
The main thing I can't stand about the spinoffs is how poorly all the characters are written. They're all absolute chumps doing dumb shit and making mistakes when in fcking DBZ season 1 both Goku and Vegeta are two of the most seasoned and deadly warriors in the universe, but in Super and GT, especially Super, they're bumbling idiots. Really insulted my intelligence when Goku and Vegeta used the fricking after-image technique to bamboozle Omega Shenron when that attack was debunked in the very first battle it was ever used in (Goku vs Roshi).
And in Super when they use the Evil Containment Wave to trap Goku Black or whatever when that stupid trick was debunked back when Kami tried to use it against Piccolo.
I digress, frick it. Frick the spinoffs they're garbage.

I liked Super, but I understand its flaws.
Its sagas are way too disconnected. When you watch DBZ, the arcs flow with each other. It feels like you are watching one narrative.
In Super, they feel super disconnected and alien from each other. I wish the narrative was more cohesive.
Also, it's way too reliant on nostalgia, it's just trying to capture cool moments from the past and attempting to evoke those same emotions. Instead, it should try to be its own thing (which it does in other ways, like the Deities, Ultra Instinct, etc.).
Also, it suffers from just being the Goku and Vegeta show. There are no character arcs. Vegeta completed his in Buu. Goku is a flat character arc. They try to incorporate every other Z fighter but it's just pandering.
The only characters that experience an arc are Beerus and Freeza, both villains that are disconnected from the "heroes" in the story.
We need new characters to treat as heroes. Trunks and Goten are prime, but for some reason they refuse to let them grow up and join the team, relegating them to comedy relief.
Broly is the other one. He got a movie, which was cool, but they are taking way too long to introduce him to the trio of heroes. That is what is needed.
I still enjoy it though. I get hyped. I loved Ultra Instinct.

How does one make their entire personality and life revolve around a movie franchise?
Marvel movies, Star Wars, the cartoon that cannot be named here, etc.
For hobbyists I get it, you can spend 12 hours a day theorycrafting and practicing a sport or something, and it'll take over, but there's a very finite amount of hours of Marvel movies. There doesn't seem to be enough substance to shape your life around them, I really don't understand how it's done
Exactly. These people should be more like me and model their personality and life after fandom itself.
Not just Marvel comics and Star Wars, but also Evil Ernie comics, the American Ninja movies, the Executioner novels, Garth Ennis's Hitman comics etc. Do it up, fandom is basically endless.
Civil War and Winter Soldier were actually good action movies. The scene where they're running on the highway is top notch.Massive CGI armies is one of the worst things about marvel movies. Doctor Strange time loop ending was pretty good as well.
The airport scene in Civil War was terrible and you know it.
That airport fight scene was the most overrated garbage I've ever seen.
This. It was pathetic. Putting the fight in such a large empty space just highlighted how small the Civil War was (compared to the comics where all of the hundreds of superheroes were involved)
Civil War was such a good movie that had absolutely no consequence they had their fun brawl at the airport and then iron cake and captain mutt had a second brawl with also zero consequence. A cat fight has more stakes.
I used to be a big fan of the comics and was really looking forward to Civil War since I liked that comic story. Pic-related is from the comics (that's not the real Thor though). The comics actually had consequences and shit got real, then the MCU movie was cheap garbage

It's a guilty pleasure.
>Aha I shall devise a plan to leak these HYDRA documents detailing the truth about the death of Mr Stark’s parents at the hands of a super soldier who conveniently is the friend of Captain America and can also be hypnotised by a series of code words I can find in a book in some wall in Cleveland, and also how lucky is it that the Avengers are disagreeing right now and oh wow even luckier is that one of them just killed a whole bunch of people in Nigeria and now the government will create a set of accords to keep them in check. Now I shall bomb the signing of the accords and fake evidence that it was the super soldier who did it and then I will wait for the super soldier to be arrested and conveniently the anti-accords Avengers will be there to get arrested too, and I will pose as a psychologist and use the code words to brainwash him. Then, I will go to Siberia and wait as the Avengers battle each other and Captain America will think there are five other super soldiers that I am prepared to unleash (just kidding), and then Tony will learn the truth and meet up with Captain America and the super soldier just in time for me to show all three of them a security video of the super soldier killing Tony’s parents, and I know for SURE that he will overreact and fight and split apart! HAHA YES! I HAVE AVENGED MY FAMILY!
It's as if for a normal person to even have a chance to take down a group of fricking superheroes, he should wait until the circumstances are in his favor and they are at their most vulnerable. You solved it, you should be proud.
Civil War was such a good movie that had absolutely no consequence they had their fun brawl at the airport and then iron cake and captain mutt had a second brawl with also zero consequence. A cat fight has more stakes.
I can enjoy this movie until Spider-Man comes into it. Feels like the story takes a break for tony to go on a random side quest for a character that has never been mentioned before. Him recruiting Peter to fight his friends also directly contradicts that early scene of him being guilted over a kid dying from the avenger's shenanigans.
Yeah I got that. I'm saying it makes no sense. >I'm gonna redeem my carelessness that caused a child to die by putting a child in situations where he could die.
Really contrived and dumb way to get Spidey into the MCU
Well you're not wrong but in the movie it's: "Anyone who doesn't sign these papers is literally killing black scholars across the globe."
And I like how that stupid b***h "works for the state department" like that's supposed to be endearing. Might as well be on welfare.
not that bar was set too high, but it was the best MCU movie for sure
if nothing else, making bad guy some nerd who turn them on each other was nice change of pace
Civil war was only good if you saw captain America as the bad guy. Bucky deserved a bullet to the brain and nothing more.. he was never a good character.
They also fricked up Spider-Man I get that they wanted captain America to be really strong and powerful, but Spider-Man would frick him up hard and raw and captain America would just have to get on his knees and take it. Most Spider-Man movies seem to ignore about a third of his abilities just to nerf him.
>Civil war was only good if you saw captain America as the bad guy. Bucky deserved a bullet to the brain and nothing more.. he was never a good character.
What the frick I'm not saying Bucky is a good character necessarily but he was a complete victim and only ever dangerous if you happen to know his weird MK ultra phrase.
You're on Don Cheadle's side? That homosexual that wants to sign all their rights away for ~~*safety*~~? Baka tbh senpai.
Iron Man's main villains were corrupt individual. Stane, Hammer, Killian. He was also personally responsible for Ultron. He handwaved any doubts and claimed he knew what he was doing. He believes that government oversight would prevent once decent people from making the mistakes he's seen people make.
Captain America's main villains were corrupt systems. You had the Hydra and the Nazis and then Hydra controlling half of shield. Captain America isn't the type of person to perform a lesser evil. He's not the type of person to create an Ultron. Government oversight, especially when they view him with skepticism, gets in the way of him doing what he knows is right.
Man, the whole Bucky situation and CW is such a disaster. Like, it looks cool and yeah, iron man beam vs captain america shield, but like. If you take a step back, it's stupid.
It leads to half the universe getting wiped out, with the Avengers not being united to fight Thanos. Because they had a fight over Bucky, Wanda being babysat in a luxury apartment and beurocracy.
And the worst thing is, they never even talk about it. Because the writers know it's stupid.
It gets solved with >well, time passed, water under the bridge
What? Pay attention. The movies aren’t perfect by no means but this is addressed in endgame when tony blames CA for their failure against thanos and then pretty much leaves the avengers for 5 years to live on his own
Not really that stupid honestly. Its not about X thing they had a falling out over imo, its about how Tony is unstable (Civil War goes into the reasons why and how it connects to his parents, the arc being resolved in Endgame) and Captain America is an immovable rock who will never budge from his principles for any reason. Inevitably, this was going to lead to conflict between them and divide the loyalties of the Avengers. If it wasn't Bucky, it would be something else that would serve as the breaking point.
Honestly the movie actually corrects one of the flaws of the original comic, which is that Captain America admits he's wrong in a stupid scene where civilians try to wrestle him to the ground after he beats Tony. Its a much better take that Captain America would never budge no matter what. That's his whole thing, for better or worse he's a man of principles.
No idea how Cap was allowed to say anything he said in this movie let alone be portrayed in the right. Couldn't be made today.
There is just 1 extremely pozzed part when that FBI prostitute says "My mother grew up in a time where no one wanted to see women succeed at anything." Jesus Christ, what a prejudice and ignorant statement. I'm sure israelite clitties were going crazy for that one.
When did we get so spoiled that we thought Civil War was a bad film? By all rights, the Avengers should have never been a thing. Iron Man on the big screen was a laughable idea back in the day. And now we have multiple kinos, including Infinity War & Endgame.
Meanwhile, DC can't even get their IP off the ground. They got a half assed attempt at Justice League. Marvel fans should be thankful, cause life could be so much worse.
was making Civil War a single film a mistake? I thought Civil War was an event that lasted a year in Marvel comics. I thought Civil War itself could have been a trilogy.
The age of Ultron lasted for a few days. The MCU is a joke.
>dude i saw some lefty twitter homosexual call putin voldemort and thats cringe so i have to believe opposite thing now

Dude you must support le heckin Ukraine
Why? You just MUST do it...MKAY
because the stakes were *personal*
You care more about the fate of these two characters and their frendship than you ever did about a world ending cataclysm in avengers 1 or two because these are the main characters and the stakes became personal.
I don't think they're smart enough to do this, but a very charitable interpretation could be that the emptiness and stupidity of how it looks reflects the stupidity of them fighting each other for ostensibly no good reason. But there are much better ways of going about that than doing something that is so visually sterile.

We will probably never agree, but I can respect your opinion.
We're both Dragonball respecters so that basically makes us blood.
I liked the first Battle of Gods movie.
Nah, Z and DB are 2 distinct shows. OG Dragonball was based, DBZ was good but still vastly inferior to DB
Leap off a cliff.
On the contrary the red ribbon stuff (including the androids) was the worst part of the show. I skip DB s2&3 every rewatch.

this is one of the most dystopian things I've ever seen
society is over, madmen are now just running wild with leftover machines and technology made by long dead geniuses, burning everything down in their path for no reason (trans kids, HRT, adrenochrome, drugs, whatever).
Humanity hasnt made forward progress in decades. It all has to be cleansed so we can start anew already
Using popular fantasy characters for political propaganda is nothing new. What's new is using it to brainwash adults.
ok simmer down there schizo
Oh my Zelenkskyy. How heckin wholesome and epicrino. Pulter completely destroyed.
Updooted
Edit: thanks for the gold kind stranger
This is bad. Even if this is meant to be satire making fun of MCU fans this is still really cringe.
i literally risked my hide by going to illegal antiputin rallies in moscow, evaded city-wide facial recognition and had ukrainian refugees evacuated the frick out of the country into europe
2 seconds of staring at this and I want to personally hand Putin the big red button then ride an icbm, dr. strangelove style
good job mcu, keep it up
I HATE THIS I HATE THIS I HATE THIS I HATE THIS
I too am mad at that image, unironically.
My kneejerk reaction to people who would say things like that unironically are all fricking predators/pedophiles.

I couldnt read past the "Courage" its already giving me a fricking ulcer from cringe
how do people like this even exist
If this is a goof, the guy is a genius.
If he is serious then it's still genius.
Why didn't Wanda get involved?
Sokovian chudette? Yeah I'm thinking she's staying quiet for a reason.
>tfw i watched all this and was only interested in them like saturday morning cartoons
As you should. They are fun. Problem is most zoomers have only MCU as their cultural basis now and see the world through that lens.
>Weee lasers and punches go zap pow!
bullshit im zoomer but i love tarantino films
>tarantino
kek let me guess youre from r/movies
>tarantino
i mean you have to start somewhere, right?
>my aunt knows a guy that won the lottery that means everyone wins the lottery
Oooo wow a cinephile
I love these movies more than life itself, but I'll admit that they're basically big budget Saturday Morning Cartoons.
Not that I'm complaining since I absolutely love Saturday Morning Cartoons.
>mfw I actually allowed Endgame to disappoint me
I was such a goy.
Thats not to say i havent fallen for israeli tricks either
Civil War and Winter Soldier were actually good action movies. The scene where they're running on the highway is top notch.Massive CGI armies is one of the worst things about marvel movies. Doctor Strange time loop ending was pretty good as well.
Airport scene is where I checked out of capeshit
UNDEROOOOOOOS
This. It was pathetic. Putting the fight in such a large empty space just highlighted how small the Civil War was (compared to the comics where all of the hundreds of superheroes were involved)
I used to be a big fan of the comics and was really looking forward to Civil War since I liked that comic story. Pic-related is from the comics (that's not the real Thor though). The comics actually had consequences and shit got real, then the MCU movie was cheap garbage
The airport scene in Civil War was terrible and you know it.
No one probably cares, but I'm gonna post my MCU headcannon anyway.
>IM1
>Avengers 1
>Avengers 2

HAHA YES! I HAVE AVENGED MY FAMILY!
underrated post
It's as if for a normal person to even have a chance to take down a group of fricking superheroes, he should wait until the circumstances are in his favor and they are at their most vulnerable. You solved it, you should be proud.
Why Tony didnt do a funny quip here? Isnt what marvel do? Dance off?
They call him Tony Stank in 5 minutes, it’s very funny and on-brand
more like cancer: black panther haha
🙁

It wasn't. You're a low IQ capeshitting troony. That's all
Civil War was such a good movie that had absolutely no consequence they had their fun brawl at the airport and then iron cake and captain mutt had a second brawl with also zero consequence.
I'm not saying that team Tony isn't wrong for wanting to sign their freedoms away but the dead nog is exactly why Tony conscripted Spiderman to fight.
Might as well be on welfare.
not that bar was set too high, but it was the best MCU movie for sure
if nothing else, making bad guy some nerd who turn them on each other was nice change of pace
>some nerd
Zemo was some hotshot cold war black ops commando though
my bad, I've seen it once back then, but remember him not fighting with Avengers at all, so thought he's not military or anything
Unironically good movie. Yes I liked the airport scene. No I don't care that it looked like shit. I'm not a homo.
are you form india or mexico?
>Characters are bland
>Palette is lifeless
>Plot is nonsensical
MCU brains shat out OP's post.
agreed, but tbf Infinity War and Endgame massively improved on those issues and breathed some vibrancy and colour into these ensemble MCU flicks
now its shot back down in quality though
Man, the whole Bucky situation and CW is such a disaster. Like, it looks cool and yeah, iron man beam vs captain america shield, but like. If you take a step back, it's stupid.
It leads to half the universe getting wiped out, with the Avengers not being united to fight Thanos. Because they had a fight over Bucky, Wanda being babysat in a luxury apartment and beurocracy.
And the worst thing is, they never even talk about it. Because the writers know it's stupid.
It gets solved with
>well, time passed, water under the bridge
I like it because Cap killed TONY HELP posting by absolutely beating the shit out of him
Best MCU depiction of spiderman and the only good iteration of black panther. Frankly, it hasn't aged particularly well
It wasn’t. You’re just a terminally-online man child homosexual who has never been able to outgrow his capeshit fascination.
>Endgame
All what you listed range from bad to absolute shit.
The only decent MCU flicks were Iron Man 1, Winter soldier and Captain America 1
>Captain America 1
g a r b a g e
Streets ahead of Civil War, IW or Endgame.
Childhood friend who stuck with you through the bad times trumps narcissistic but good-hearted manprostitute.
Civil War is a Copy of Kingdom Come
its actually one of the most boring high budget movies of the last ten years
was making Civil War a single film a mistake? I thought Civil War was an event that lasted a year in Marvel comics. I thought Civil War itself could have been a trilogy.
The age of Ultron lasted for a few days. The MCU is a joke.
Dude you must support le heckin Ukraine
Why? You just MUST do it...MKAY
dude nick fuentes is luke skywalker in a world of voldemorts, we heckin have to root for him!
but taking you seriously for a moment, why do you think so many countries joined/want to join nato?
For the freebies of course. And the trade agreements.
nothing to do with protection from russia? nothing at all? did all that stuff with the baltics just not happen? damn you're disingenuous lol
No. Just more handouts from mama Merkel and co.
are you under the impression that being in NATO is some form of welfare? are you moronic?
Free weapons and billions in aid, dumbass. Just what that clown Zelensky is getting right now.
Because it wasn't and only basement dwelling edgelords think it was cool
/pol/cel getting dabbed on
because the stakes were *personal*
You care more about the fate of these two characters and their frendship than you ever did about a world ending cataclysm in avengers 1 or two because these are the main characters and the stakes became personal.
>they meet in avengers and butt heads
>they do that other thing in avengers 2, like colleagues
>we wuz frens
I missed the part where they were friends
cause RDJ is kino
i saw that one with my friends and we ended up agreeing that it's a "poo-poo movie for indians" (exact quote)
>capeshit
>good movie
pick one
>such a good movie
Do you eat SpaghettiOs out of the can too while consooming your capeshit
>?!?!?!?
!>?!?!?!
!?!?!?
When were they friends? They were just dicks to eachother and always competing.
this movie was when I completely lost interest in capeshit
that scene where they run at each other in an airport looked so fricking stupid and campy
it's not a good movie. It's stupid and also moronic.
Why didn't Tony just fly the fricking Quinjet in the airport away?
How did they not feel ashamed to put this fight in a car park on the big screen? The whole point of a visual medium is to look good.
I don't think they're smart enough to do this, but a very charitable interpretation could be that the emptiness and stupidity of how it looks reflects the stupidity of them fighting each other for ostensibly no good reason. But there are much better ways of going about that than doing something that is so visually sterile.
Why do marvelkeks praise winter soldier so much? It was an ok action movie to me. Reddit and normies say it revolutionized capeshit.
Moore is right
