Why the hell is it literally impossible to find one of these in stores?

Why the hell is it literally impossible to find one of these in stores? I went to Harbor Freight, I went to Lowes, I went to Home Depot, I even went to a local hardware store, literally none of them carried them in their inventory. Why?! It's like, 4 bars of steel held together with a couple of pins and chains, why is such a simple product not just kept in stores???

Don't have the time, tools, or workspace, living in an apartment without a shop. I ended up having to swallow my pride and ordered one off of, ugh, Amazon, but I just had to vent about it here so at least someone would know of my pain.

And if he’s pulling a heavy ass big ass spool of #8 or larger then he could literally just set up some sticks of 1” rigid on some sawhorses. I don’t get it

It's just bent electrical conduit. I used to make event tents out of the stuff the same way using just a cheap pipe bender, a hammer to flatten the ends, and a drill to make bolt holes. It's easily doable anywhere

This. If you're needing a wire spool holder then you probably have some conduit and a bender kicking around too...

You cant be seriously implying that you use metal piping for electrical in the USA?

Every nation uses conduit. How do you not know this? Do they not have electrical systems in Wakanda?

Get some EMT, and a bender and get bending. Or use 2 chairs and a broom handle to suspend the coil.

Then you don't need spool caddy.

Also, I actually made one of these at work in 15 minutes out of a random 1x3 scrap and some EMT. With a handsaw and drill. I think this post is bait, nobody is this moronic.

You do have room if you're creative. For example a folding Ridgid tristand is a great vise holder by bolting the vise to a "hitch mount vise plate" then securing the square tubing shank in the tristand's chain vise.

You can carry the tristand and vise separately to use them outdoors if want and the stability is wonderful. Used tristands are often cheap but always worth owning. I have two and want more.

Tristands are simple so I'd buy a cheaper clone if want. They're only ~$220 or so and every shop needs one.

Those are not industrial suppliers. Those are general hardware chain stores with some items for small contractors. Do yourself a favor and learn how the pros buy (everything) and your life will become delightfully easy and convenient.

The MSC, McMaster-Carr, Fastenal and Grainger sites are highly educational for finding items but unless you need it the next day (or immediately if one of their outlets is nearby) and are willing to pay for that convenience it's best to hunt the part you found on Amazon, homosexual Despot, Ebay etc. For electrical stuff nearly every town of size has electrical supply houses that stock tools too.

Sparkies will outfit their trucks from electrical suppliers brick and mortar or online including the wide variety of cable spool holders. You just chose the wrong vendor but that's part of learning.

Fastenal has been expanding in recent years and their catalog/site is always worth a look but you probably saved money ordering online instead.
