>no nonsense durable >lightweight despite this >great glass quality, good fov >prism so it can never die from needing batteries, still usable if tritium is dead >battle tested, has been used to kill dudes by the hundreds
idk you tell me. lpvos or whatever tacticool buzzword these kids like to call them now work great until something breaks on them and they need to use the warranty. Meanwhile an acog takes an ied and still works
Kys. Whenever someone wants to buy it I let them gandle mine and they all ask me if I really paid over a thousand dollar for that shit. Never fall for the meme.
ACOG doesn't have great eye relief but it has a SPECTACULAR field of view you NOGUNS child. What LPVO comes close? Elcan and NOTHING else. Why do you post this moronic nonsense? Oh right, because you are NOGUNS.
>What LPVO comes close? Elcan and NOTHING else
Elcan FOV is about 26° at 1x. Swarovski Z6i is 23.8°, but goes to 6x max mag instead of 4x. 2°for 50% more magnification is better to me.

>society collapsed >all major infrastructure, internet, phones are down >scavenging, fighting, and defending with your trusty rifle >take a hard fall and optic breaks >its okay, I will just call up primary arms and ship my optic back for RMA >no postal service >no phone lines >no live
>talks like a zoomoid >shit's all moronic
checks out
they are decent but the glass is nowhere near as good as an acog, same with FOV compared to 4x acog.
Primate Arms have so many friggin YouTube influencers/shills pushing their stuff.
I’m sticking with Leopold and Steiner , already have 3 Acogs. In short PA optics are for n00bs.
Sounds like a bunch of cope posting from a bunch of homosexuals who where too pussy to steal an ACOG while they where overseas. And have no fricking idea what they're talking about.

My 3x prism wouldn't hold zero after like 100rds, sent it back, got a new one, sold the brand new one and got an aimpoint instead
Chinese optics are trash
>elcans have much better eyeboxes than acogs >elcans are much heavier than an acog + canted dot and swapping to a canted dot is faster than flipping the 1x switch on an elcan
5.56 isn't effective pass 400yd or so (though yeah you can certainly have fun plinking at paper at double that) and the point is a gun that is light and more compact. So there isn't really any point in high magnification and thus no need to pay a weight/size penalty for it. I don't agree that acogs+rds is the best setup universally, I think in many cases the reverse (a holo plus a flip mag) makes more sense and there are some other decent companies these days, but the basic idea of a fixed magnification from 3-5x and a good dedicated 1x makes a ton of sense. I say that as someone with a decent LPVO, but it's on a 30cal gun.
I think Elcans are so-so these days. LPVOs have simply surpassed them you can get vastly better for the same or less cost. They're too much money for what they offer.
Task and purpose dictates. If you wanna fight body sized targets at 300 and in, I'd say a red dot of decent quality/holographic will do you done. If you wanna touch a little farther and more accurately, an acog is top tier with it's track record but there's other good options too like some of the prism optics that have been coming out recently. If you want the best of both, an lpvo is top most tier but you have to get a really good lpvo which can be very pricey. There are other cool lpvos like the Burris rt6 and swampfox lpvos which are more affordable, but I wouldn't lay my life on them like I would an acog/eotech/aimpoint
>If you want the best of both, an lpvo is top most tier but you have to get a really good lpvo
I have an NF ATACR 1-8 which is a decent LPVO and I don't agree with this. They aren't "the best of both" they just have their own strengths and weaknesses. You get much better high magnification and solid 1x in a single good package. But the 1x is absolutely worse then a good rds/holo/prism, the fov, eyebox and eye relief are just a lot tighter. It's only worth it if you actually will really make use of the whole range. Fixed low mag plus dedicated 1x is just plain better than LPVOs at <400yd.
Simplicity, ease of use, durability and ruggedness. Its also lightweight and doesn’t require batteries. It appears the multi decade dominance is set to continue and this only-recently-disputed king remains the champ.
Torn between a TA11J-308 I can get for $800 at a LGS new or some lpvo in the below $900 range for my ar10
I live in the middle of a bayou so high mag isn't really a big deal

Compared to what? Looking through a straw? Fov is abysmal compared to actual quality optics.
it works
ACOG doesn't have great eye relief but it has a SPECTACULAR field of view you NOGUNS child. What LPVO comes close? Elcan and NOTHING else. Why do you post this moronic nonsense? Oh right, because you are NOGUNS.
it also has a fantastic eyebox
You can also sacrifice some of the generous FOV to pull back on the optic if necessary. Still usable at 3-3.5”.
>What LPVO comes close? Elcan and NOTHING else
Elcan FOV is about 26° at 1x. Swarovski Z6i is 23.8°, but goes to 6x max mag instead of 4x. 2°for 50% more magnification is better to me.

The 3.5x is pretty good.
stop being moronic. Pull your ACOG all the way back on the rail. NTCH is a meme.
I'm not disagreeing with any of this, but the new Primary Arms 3x prism kinda dumps a hot dookie on the ACOG in terms of value.
if you think that shit is anywhere near as durable as an acog you are out of your mind
durability doesnt matter if the warranty is on point bruh
no cap no cap
we out here bussin on a b***h fr
>bro just use the warranty lmao
that's going to be super helpful when the optic is discontinued or you need it to actually work in the moment.

Our shop just got a restock on a few Primary Arms optics and we noticed our costs have increased 25%-33% from our supplier. Frick those israelites.

Acog pretty good too. But not as good.

elcan vs acog is a good debate
>elcans have much better eyeboxes than acogs
>elcans are much heavier than an acog + canted dot and swapping to a canted dot is faster than flipping the 1x switch on an elcan
eclan does not have a much better eyebox, its pretty restricted too. The 1x is king though, piggybacking on ACOG is gay.
>eclan does not have a much better eyebox
meant to say eye relief

will I get bullied for putting the wrong acog on my 20"? I don't want the range tomboy to laugh at my gun
Yeah kinda
are you telling me you don't want a tomboy to bully you at the range?
