Takes longer to load than both a bow and gun.
shorter range than a gun
heavy
awkward shape for transporting
costs as much as a high spec rifle and ammo costs 10x as much
its the shooting equivalent of a motor trike.
all the downsides of both a car and motorbike but none of the benefits of either
Composite bow for intentional hunting. Bear mace for bears or other large animals. Pick up a stone and go absolutely cannibal apeshit crazy if you see a potential predator.
then is a heavy, slow, large, expensive compound bow
only treestanders use them because they are fat fricks with more money than fitness and too lazy to spot and stalk
I'd probably use bows or learn how to use a sling. crossbows seem just a bit much.
no, you. Explain what "technique" is involved in bow shooting.
Shooting a bow accurately is almost all technique and form. For instance a lot of newbies death grip the bow and use too much muscle, don't relax their shoulders, locking elbows, don't use their backs at all to draw etc and end up with tennis elbow or hand shock. It's like saying with a gun all you do is point and shoot lol

>A real bow
Unless you're talking about like an english longbow, which I know you're not using, it's more about technique than strength that's required.
What technique? What the hell are you talking about? A long bow is the third simplest weapon in the world after the club and the spear, english or otherwise. Just pull back and let go.
It's a mixture of both pull and push, not just with your arms, but with your back as well, usually using muscles you don't normally use, why professional archers usually have over developed back muscles on one side. In the end you're not just putting the bow out infront of you and pulling back. Even the way you grab the string plays an effect, like are you pinch pulling? Are you doing the Mediterranean which is the most used pull? A nice 30 to 40 pound bow will cover all your needs, from hunting to larping.
>english longbow
The frick you talking about? This is current year and many people use a recurve bow. Glad you learned something from a historical youtube channel though.
Keep on LARPing, kiddo.
The ONLY thing crossbows have over guns is that they're much quieter. I've hear some special forces in some shithole still use them to take out sentries and other sneaky kills.
Because I carry a sling shot. I'm in bear country, Alaska, and we don't mess around. Hunters will recognize the brighter green poop, that's a spring bear poop, they come out of the den and eat grasses immediately. Better tasting before the eat dead fish.
I do and the very first time I shot/used one was a night snipe of about 30-50 yds. It came with a scope, had to put down a possum my dog attacked. Didn't realize how strong they were until it went completely through the rodent and halfway into my fence.
I had a cheap handcross bow that shot small bolts. I used it to wage jihad against rats in my barn for a summer with my dad. I'd go in first and flip the lights on and try a quick shot and then my dad would clean up with our pump action 22. It was fun as shitl, albeit messy and probably not very efficient
I built mine with the help of Robin Allen a master crossbowmaker gibson's.
I always thought that Firearms are a bit loud and stupid instruments. They're best suited for morons.
In all my years of hunting and going to shoots bringing rifles using other people's handguns and then of course archery, I always get compliments on my crossbow, and they are more impressed when they find out I actually made most of it with help. I am proud to show the elk and the 9 or 10 deer I've taken with it over the years.
It takes a lot of skill to hunt successfully with a crossbow., and to plan your return to your vehicle as well. You've got to be closer and more accurate so your prayers are running half a mile through the brush because it your bullet went off shoulder blade and only wounded it
Cause I have a rifle.
Only one? Newb.
I have six ARs alone, I'm not carrying all of them because I didn't put more points into STR.
>Pretend guns don't exist
No.

You have a good point, but then I remembered how quickly the very expensive points get dulled and lost and remembered that high fps pellet guns exist
They're more expensive than firearms and ammo
A crossbow is something that crackhead types are attracted to for some reason. Just a law of the universe.
Because I'm not a cuck.
stop projecting cucklord
I have the strength to use a real bow and am old enough to buy a gun.
Crossbows are mall ninja territory.

I have 7 guns but a crossbow would be very useful if you were a poacher.
