Anyone else here think that this new "aesthetic" (dare I call it) looks soulless and flat out ugly? Also inb4
>"But Anon, muh extra 0.0000000001% camo efficiency and muh heckin rails for my overpriced attachments11111!!!!!!!!"
Why don't you frick off and drive your overpriced punisher stickered GMC pickup off a cliff instead?
Ya muddah
Yeah
>that one at the bottom
What the frick am I looking at?
New lmg called the REAPR that was introduced by Ohio Ordnance a few days ago, shame they ruined it with the shitty tan furniture and the ugly looking rails.
Kys, I also forgot to mention that tan furniture only looks good on the SCAR
Wrong, aesthetic and soul is the complete opposite of goyslop
>aesthetic and soul
It's shit for historians and media childs, pure goyslop
No your robotic, designed by committee, "peak performance" rifle does not, can not, and never will have a soul. It is soulless, for robotic "people" who will never do anything beyond what they are told, mindless zombies whom much like the food, media, products and drugs they consume are entirely, completely, absolutely SOULLESS.
sup op you still mad about not having a red dot?
>Kys, I also forgot to mention that tan furniture only looks good on the SCAR
Take the 10 seconds to put that in your post next time you seething moron.
>Ohio
GYAT bruh
>ruined it with the shitty tan furniture and the ugly looking rails
They ruined it by giving it the outline of a Star Wars prop. It looks like they asked a little kid to draw a gun and then based their design off of it.
Was never answered. This is the elephant in the room. Seriously that MG looks cool as hell and super light. I too must know what it is.
new 338
star wars blaster on xanax
New Ohio Ordinance Works MG called the REAPR. Chambered in 338 Norma Magnum.
Would have been a better shitpost if you had said "weapons platform"
I think tan looks the best out of all the popular colors
Aestetic and soul IS a goyslop, peak performance is only thing matters
Black is the most efficient paint and finish color because its cheap and sets quicker, but we dont live in 1908 anymore so theres no reason for a gun to be black outside of a specific aesthetic decision. Green and brown are the more prominent colors on land, so those are the best colors for firearms to be finished in. Brown edges out green because brown blends into green environments, but green stands out in brown environments. Therefore, brown or "FDE" is the most common non-black finish.
>looks soulless and flat out ugly
Black person its a tool to kill people with
this. Though I like green guns
the full size AK5c makes me CUMMMMMMM
>Black is the most efficient paint and finish color because its cheap and sets quicker
I agree with this
soulless and flat out ugly
>Black person its a tool to kill people with.
People have been putting aesthetic and soul into weapon designs for centuries. Just because it's a tool meant to kill people doesn't mean it can't look cool.
No I'm an American, just not the type who worships Black folk and israelites along with spending 10k on useless gucci attachments.
post 1 gun that you own
>If they were zombie green and keymod you would still b***h. Why don't you go to bed noguns
Well no shit dumbass, I don't they'd look as bad in black though
>16" carbine gassed
>detachable carry handle
>waffle stock
>mystery meat garbage sling
>pmag to clash with old M4 aesthetic you could try to cope with
behold, the average sovlBlack person
M4s look ugly as shit I'm glad anon did his own thing. Could be better imo but it is good. Appears to be an attempt to make a CAR-15 not M4, which is actual SOVL
You frickin moron, the 16" carbine gas M4 clone is the most basic AR offering out there. How in the world is it remotely similar to a CAR-15?
A basic AR is the best kind of AR
>t. got his PSA AR on layaway
Stock looks correct and not like a standard M4, M4s are literally all quadrails stop coping, and flat is the best anon could do. Also the 16 inch is forgiven because he probably doesn't want to comply to the cuck stamp
https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-pa-15-16-carbine-length-5-56-nato-1-7-phos-m4-classic-rifle-black.html
uh huh, hope your dad gets you one for your 16th birthday champ
PSA did not invent the M4 moron. What was the point of this post?
the point is that it is a standard M4 clone, did you read the post I was replying to?
And you clearly didn't read mine
I beg of you to spot one difference in that listing vs op's gun. Safety markings don't count since that's manufacturer preference.
>m4 stock
>Stock looks correct and not like a standard M4
i diagnose you with single-digit iq
>Stock looks correct and not like a standard M4
Are you fricking blind?
>LE stock
>fat M4 clamshell
>flat top
he didnt attempt shit, that gun looks like factory config and its pure m4.
Correct, I like basic M4s. PMAGs also look good with them, need to buy some aluminum mags though
>t. got his PSA AR on layaway.
And I love it!
>whines about modern mass produced slop
>buys yesterday's mass produced slop, poor edition
lmao
Doesn't change the fact that yesterday's slop objectively looks better than todays slop.
it's also objective fact that whining about brown guns is 10x gayer than owning one yet here we are
It's the other way around actually
>>16" carbine gassed
carry handle
stock
meat garbage sling
>>pmag to clash with old M4 aesthetic you could try to cope with
Thanks anon
no
>yesterday's slop objectively looks better than todays slop.
You just grew up with it. As a decorated neverserved, I can objectively say that it is all sloppa.
>no light
>no optic
you're just being a hipster bro red dots have battery lives that last 5+ years, and are generally more reliable than irons at this point
Suppressors are mostly for obscuring your location when firing not hearing safety especially on a supersonic round
>Suppressors are mostly for obscuring your location when firing not hearing safety especially on a supersonic round
In a real war that's not going to make any difference unless you're one of those special forces types fricking around behind enemy lines, a prospect which is going to be very difficult until better ways of killing all these homosexual small drones are invented.
Dumbest post I've seen on this website.
It's true you moron.
>boomerposting
i hope you aren't serious anon
You have never heard a suppressor at distance in your life or even bothered to research the opinions of people who have.
Yeah I'm sure the Chinese hordes won't be able to figure out the direction they're taking fire from and will just stumble around aimlessly getting shot.
>bargain bin AR #5,000,000

I like how the autistic dumbfricks here called you ‘noguns’ then promptly moved the goalposts when you posted gun.
>on land
In the wilderness maybe. Most of us don't buy rifles to fight in the woods, otherwise we'd pick a wood finish.
Trees aren’t orange, bro.
NTA. Wood is Brown, not orange
A hunting rifle could be literally orange though, as no animal can distinguish between green and orange.
Brown is orange with context
Frick your camo, bring on the metallic purples and blues
>Green and brown are the more prominent colors on land, so those are the best colors for firearms to be finished in.
So the fricking hues of all people got something right for once, pic related.

>Now Generation Kill is a cultural phenomenon
Huh? The only people Ive met who give a shit about it, liked it ever since it aired.

Thanks. I missed that post. Tbh the Handguard should’ve tipped me off, looks like the HCAR

>oh you have a backpack gun? that’s cute. I have a backpack heavy machine gun

That is sick. A man-portable HMG lighter than an m240, that can be broken down into a backpack. Wish it had constant recoil though, would be way cooler and more useful.

>Fat and moronic
Really short barrel for a .338NM MG.
Just ~16"?
Sons of a b***h.
Its an MG42.
If they were zombie green and keymod you would still b***h. Why don't you go to bed noguns
yeah why arent they GREEN
Why don't we just build the attachments into the gun and have a centralised battery pack?
Modularity. Because what if you don't want the attachments? Then you are stuck with the weight
There is literally no reasons these designs have to be so hideous. M-LOK was supposed to improve things from quad rails but instead people have managed to do worse things with it. There is no reason you need to put so many holes in the handguard where it looks like a cheese grater. Also making everything in desert tan/brown/mud despite the fact nobody wants to keep doing bullshit nation building in the middle east is absolutely moronic.
The "suppressors on everything" trend is stupid for the vast majority of soldiers in a conventional war. Someone is going to scream at me about hearing loss but in this day and age you should have good hearing protection anyway. Even if you have a suppressor your hearing can still get fricked by artillery going off and all sorts of other things in a war zone. Suppressors on everything has become some weird cargo cult thing where everyone wants to LARP as special forces playing in the woods. I've even seen suppressors on some guns mounted on UGVs like it's going to somehow make the fricking robot avoid being detected.
The XM7 is the result of a mix of contradictory and often stupid requirements but somehow it is less of an offender than that abortion of a light machine gun at the bottom. It has cooling rings like a Hotchkiss? It also manages to be heavier than both the SIG and GD .338 GPMGs. And calling it a "Automatic Precision Rifle"? WTF?
You know FDE works in more than just the desert right? Have you ever even seen America’s deserts, all the fields in the east/southeast full of wild wheat and other tan foliage, and the fact half the world is shades of brown and tan for half the year?
Olive drab works outside of Europe too.
>and the fact half the world is shades of brown and tan for half the year?
Even on snow brown stands out less than black.
>There is no reason you need to put so many holes in the handguard
Agreed. It makes cleaning things from mud much more tedios.
>Also making everything in desert tan/brown/mud d
Brown is much better camo color than black for any terrain. That includes CONUS and Russia.
>The "suppressors on everything" trend is stupid for the vast majority of soldiers in a conventional war
Supreessors are even larger force multipliers than optics in conventional war. Though they are expensive both in costs and logistics.
Supreessors hide shotter, obscure source and direction of danger making enemy seek cover in wrong direction, preserve hearing for CQB so soldiers can hear enemy footsteps, and last but not least they make noobie shooters flinch less (hello conscription meat).
In a conventional war, which is what the NGSW was deliberately designed to have in mind, suppressors will end up being useless for masking locations of fire. I find it hard to believe it's anything but a retroactive design decision. If that were the case, we would have been fielding suppressor as standard issue since 2000, but as you already know it was only for SOPMOD, which grunts were NOT getting.
>making enemy seek cover in wrong direction
this already happens without suppressors to begin with
>preserve hearing for CQB so soldiers can hear enemy footsteps
lol? this has already been possible since the implement of electronic ear pro being issued. I'd like to add, real life isn't the MW2 days when having a turtle beach headset made you MVP. Once things go south in this "le cqb" fantasy, the ability to "hear enemy footsteps" is the least of your concerns
>suppressors will end up being useless for masking locations of fire.
How would it make useless if for untrained ear suppressed fire comes from wrong direction?
>this already happens without suppressors to begin with
And it would happens much more with suppressors. Also suppressors greatly reduce muzzle blast and visual aspects of fire (dust kicking, brushes moving etc)
>this has already been possible since the implement of electronic ear pro being issued.
Hello zoomer. In our times we didn't use any gay headphones. *cracks monster*
We also didn't drink energy drinks like some hippy homosexual
>The "suppressors on everything" trend is stupid for the vast majority of soldiers in a conventional war.
The USMC company that was issued suppressors for literally every weapon in their TO&E absolutely did not want to give them up, not at least because it meant a platoon could communicate via shouting instead of needing to use radios every two seconds. It also made fighting inside buildings a jillion times less painful, minimized report and muzzle flash, and gave a whole bunch of other benefits. In short, field testing proves you're dead wrong.
Are these those morons suppressing M2 Brownings like it's going to accomplish anything other than give the MG team another 5 pounds per barrel to carry? Does the USMC not issue good electronic h hearing protection or something?
>The "suppressors on everything" trend is stupid
>not suppressing 27mm
Because rails are good, weight is bad, and extruded aluminum is the new stamped steel.
The minimal amount of weight you save by cutting too-many holes in the handguard isn't worth the downsides.
There are no downsides with a properly designed rail. (ie not geissele)
If it were properly designed it would have some holes and cutouts but not by this skeletonized crap they're trying to sell.
>tan furniture
Mentally stuck in the sandbox.
You can see it on the insistence they *need* DMR performance out of a standard issue rifle.
>overly skeletonized quad rails
If you make your new standard issue rifle weigh more and be front heavier than a 1960s battle rifle, you'll take any weight savings you can.
Thermal and Night Vision.
How many more times do you idiots need to be told?
There is no rail other than the top, to meet weight requirement as real quad rail are blocks of aluminum.
Tan because sand war live rent free in middle management, the same type of country featuring large open space for these long range guns and the same for the proving ground. In their mind, live could have been better if the guns are colored yellow, not because they cannot keep and modify their rifles as if they own it.
>skeletonized quad rails
moronic noguns
because full quad rails are surprisingly heavy and soldiers prefer lightweight weapons.
>muh tan gun
30 years of fighting in the desert is gonna make a mark& leave the gun industry with a bit of an aesthetic hangover
I would ask that all of you morons put a black rifle and a tan rifle out in an open field and see how far away you can walk before you cannot see both but I can't do that because none of you own guns.
Nice of Ohio Ordnance to make a video of their machinegun
Shame nobody here can ever own one
Neat
Wouldn't surprise me if they eventually make a semi-auto one down the line.
Considering they've made semi-auto belt-feds in the past.
What operation system does it have? Gas? Roller delay? Recoil operated? Doesn't seem to have gas piston.
I'm betting short recoil.
Okay, I was very wrong. It's a roller system. It looks like they looked at the MG-42 and said, that, but better.
how does it manage to be so slim when all the other new NM MMGs?
Recoil operation vs having to fit a gas piston into the receiver.
A lot of recoil operated MGs are basically just tubes.
>Shame nobody here can ever own one
yet. nobody here can own one YET. be patient and that'll change in another year or three of based court decisions
it looked cool when I first saw it in like 2002
i kind of like the soulless look
where it has 50 shades of FDE because the components were made by a dozen different companies and none of their FDE shades match
truly an aesthetic that matches our globalized corporate hellscape
That sentiment is valid for anything that isn't blued steel and wood, including many of the things you like.
I think they look cool. You guys are gays.
I actually love the obsession with FDE the MIC has had over the past decade, but that's probably because of my fetish for the SCAR. Not a fan of skeletonized rails and systems like M-LOK. I know why they exist and they have advatanges, but I just love the way RIS quad rails look.
There's nothing wrong with "skeletonizing" a part as long as you have an engineer make sure it can maintain structural-integrity during hard use, which im pretty sure multi-billionaire companies are doing.
I do agree about FDE though, the color of your weapons should match the environment and every company has started treating FDE as a "universal color" when it isnt. There should be more grey-green firearms and firearm accessories like ranger green. I like OD but its a little too dark for most of the world, whereas the greyish nature of ranger green makes it fit in a lot more places
Because green and tan blends in better with common camouflage and environments. Black is only harder to spot at night and even then green/tan will blend in well enough.
The skeletonized (MLOK) rails are so you can choose where on the rifle to place segments of rails instead of the older design of a full length, cheese grater quad rail along the entire barrel shroud. This reduces weight, provides greater comfort to the user, and allows the user to still precisely customize where they want their kit to be mounted.
the babyshit brown fad will fade in a couple years and it will be funny to look back on
>tan furtniture
blends in better than black
>overly skeletonized quad rails
save on weight and you don't have to get rid of all your pic rail accessories to replace them all with M-LOK
any more stupid questions?
blame the israelites and sandpeople for the color tan being fashionable for guns.
>Why does every new western gun have tan furniture
So you can charge $5000 for a $700 gun. Gun bros love bronze anodizing to fee like special needs operators.
>along overly skeletonized quad rails?
M-lok (weighs less, can still put on a bunch of gizmos and didlos)
Ok, here's the deal.
In Iraq/afganistan they noticed that black guns in desert get very, very hot. So hot they are hard to hold.
But they also noticed something else: When left in the sun, black guns also heat differentially on one side than the other. The side towards the sun heats up a lot, but the side in shade of the gun does not. This causes differential heat expansion to the metal, and affects accuracy on longer ranges.
Painting the gun tan will solve this problem. lighter color will reflect the light away from the gun, and allows much more uniform heating of metal.
So what started as camo painting was also found out to have a function of keeping the metal from heating too much.
That's why the tan color has become a sort of go-to color for guns. it controls metal heating.
Cry more euro b***h.
>thought the bottom one was a modern FG42
>nope just another LW MMG
I shiggy diggy the American mg42
>tan
Why not make camo guns when you have camp shoes?
The beige tan is for the forever wars in the middle east defending zionist interests
>skeletonized quad rails
Saving on material costs and making it lightweight
We spent 20 years fighting goat frickers in a desert. Some SF dudes started rattle canning their weapons brown and it became the "in thing".
I like it more than black just because for a very, VERY long time everything was black. Or 1980's woodland BDU green. It's bright, attracts the eye, and a bright finish makes it easier to see if some numbnuts operator ignored his endmills screaming for their lives.
Sometimes I hate the fact that I can see tiny imperfections, I bought a billet lower AR and the first fricking thing I saw was a tiny mismatch that someone didn't catch and blend.
Nah it looks dope as frick
