why do people pretend these things aren't fricking garbage?
>you THINK front load washers suck? you're a moron.
>you NEED to use high efficiency detergent... oh, you're using HE detergent?
>WELL, YOU'RE USING TOO MUCH DETERGENT.... wait, you're following the recommended amount?
>okay well uhhh... you're putting too many clothes in it.... put LESS clothes in it!!!!
>who cares if it takes longer to wash clothes!!!! it's easier on clothes.... so that means its better!
>i REFUSE to believe that it cleans worse than top load.
>this study PROVES that front loads clean better than top loads.
i'm tired of having to do twice the number of loads and having chemical detergents seep into my fricking skin all day because it can't properly WASH the clothes let alone fricking RINSE them clean.
somebody needs a hug
Don't like it? Don't use it.
Whining like a b***h doesn't solve your problems.
very insightful response.
Don't disrespect your mom
were talkin front loaders here and she only takes it up the back
Front loaders are designed for commercial laundromats because they can stack them on top of each other. There's no reason to use one unless you're living in an apartment and there's only space for a stacked unit, and even then most apartments are using stacked units like picrel
Commercial laundries (not self service) use them too and they work great, the trick is that those places don't run small loads and pack the machines to capacity every time.
This is a key principle that is counterintuitive and that only extremely based laundromat owners will divulge- front loaders create water flow by pumping water through stationary fabric, not agitation, and allowing enough room for the clothing to get pushed around actually defeats this principle.
Because of this, as long as you are washing fabric and you can get the door to latch and seal, you really cannot overload a front loader and the more packed it is, the better it will clean, and using minimal amounts of detergent.
interesting, during the time we had a front load we never had issues with it but we always ran large loads
at least until the door mech failed and it locked the door shut right after doing a load before we left for vacation
the best domestic washing i've used was picrel when i went to india (and my clothes were filthy for obvious reasons)
this isn't true for domestic front loaders at least, when i overloaded my old machine there would be streaks of detergent in the clothing core that looked like cum stains because the water hadn't penetrated. that said, my new top loader creates about half a cup of lint in the filter every load and turns my clothes into rags. so if anyone is still reading is there a wash to reduce the lint load or is it just shredding up my clothes? i've tried empty cycles and religiously empty the filter
>Set your soil to heavy and add an extra wash.
i think this is the key, you need at least a 2 hour cycle
>is still reading is there a wash to reduce the lint load or is it just shredding up my clothes?
Set your spin cycle to medium or low. Or wash on delicates mode with extra water. Use cold water always on colors
The reason for (You) to use them is that they are cheaper to manufacture and cost about the same.
What?
Is this what the IDF wagies have stooped to posting about, in order to earn shekels?
i've had mine for 15 years and it works great. must be user error on your part.
Front load washing machine are designed to hold back gallons of water behind a shitty door seal and drum seal so that they started leaking a month out of warranty and you have to buy a new one
Top load machines last 20 years and that is unacceptable
>so that they started leaking a month out of warranty
t.PrepHole conspiracy nut who has never designed or made anything
> door seal holds back water
No, it doesn’t. The tub is angled back slightly and the water line never reaches the seal.
There is sometimes a bit of water there, but it’s from splashing.
Side loaders certainly use less water when washing, the quality of the wash seems roughly the same though.
For spins, sure, but during gentle washing, water splashes so much that the seal really is essential. Plus you need more seals for the tub itself or you would get internal leaks. A top-loader has typically just a center-located bearing/seal, and one hole for a water level sensor. The rest is located above or within the tub. I've even seen designs where the driving shaft went all the way up the post, so they really was no way to get a leak other than with a rusted-through tub.
Delusional. My Bosch shit has had only electronic and plastic breaking issues after 10 years of use. Handle's broke, control board broke, but after it was replaced it just works.
>after we fixed all the broken shit it just works
doesn't sound like a very "just works" experience to me
I have some random ass LG top load from 20+ years ago and it literally just works, it's never even been opened up.
leave the door open when not in use so seal doesn't rot
Sunk cost fallacy.
The day I dragged my piece of shit front loader to the curb was the best day of my life.
Used to do appliance repair. Top loads are better, but the shit they have these days with the glass top panel (whirlpool brands) let steam rise behind the hinge, causing moisture problems with the control panel and board.
Anyhow, unless your clothes are genuinely dirty (which they might be for people on this board), you only need about a tablespoon or two of detergent per load. If you have grease, oil, mud, etc., all over your clothes, then use the stupid detergent cup up to the first line. Those cups that come with the detergent are a scam by the manufacturers.
what exactly is diy about this post
He's complaining all by himself, without any help from others.
laundry is DIY
skill issue
If you don’t have a new 2024 ALL IN ONE you’re missing out.
>time complexity is 2n instead of n+1
yeah im missing out on all the time i could be wasting
Ah nice! I found the washing machine complain general. PrepHole can't do without.
My house came with a front load washer, absolutely terrible.
Took 2-3 times as long for a wash, and I almost always had to do a second rinse for my work clothes.
THE FRICKING SMELL!!!
If you don't regularly clean the silicone/rubber gasket things like a nurse sponge washing the fat folds of a morbidly obese patient, it'll start smelling like death.
When it finally died (catastrophic failure of some aluminum alloy caused by corrosion, pic related isn't mine but that's what broke) we replaced it with a top load washer from the 90's.
You are supposed to use he detergent in it. You didn’t, it foamed up, and corroded the aluminum.
I used the correct detergent, the person who loved in the house before me might not have.
Ohh hey here's an idea, how about they just don't use shitty metal for the spider?
There's a notorious issue with Samsung front load machines from a few years ago due to the use of improperly passivated metal in the spider.
LG and Samsung have factories in Korea and Mexico. It makes more sense to cart appliances on rail than to load them on ships.
You might not have realized that the top loaders also exist in varying levels of quality. I've seen a 50-year old workhorse with all of its original paint, and they are not that rare around here.
And guess what fills the those appliances? Chinese parts and gears from the same places. Again I say, KYS moron non female Jannie.
>different design, QA, oversight, supply chains, etc. doesn't matter cause a ball bearing was made in China
Take your midwit takes back to redddit
> Notice how the distorted male doesn't deny being a jannie
It absolutely does matter you dickless Jannie chuckle frick. Chink parts always work in the factory and then they don't after a few years. Every major appliance company does this.
We get it, you're a chink troony Jannie. Kindly take the rope so the real discussion can continue.
> of improperly passivated metal
No. It obviously cracked first, and the water/detergent got into the cracks and caused the failure.
>just burger problems
Meanwhile, the superior euro frontloader Chad just works.
They still suck and your all in one dryer units suck even more. Dumping humidity into the house and then yuros saying it's a good thing.
The trick with front loaders is to force them to use more water than the "regular" load. Set your soil to heavy and add an extra wash.
You can also use powdered detergent which will help a ton as well.
I have a front loader and doing the above gets my others clean every time. Not user error just homosexualry by the manufacturers and government.
>Dumping humidity into the house and then yuros saying it's a good thing.
Open a frickin window. Like humidity would even be a problem if your houses weren't made out of fricking wood that can't even dry out properly.
>Open a frickin window
It's snowing at my house right now.
Good, means the humidity will leave your house even quicker.
So put it in the tilt pos- Oh no ahahahahaha
>you will never be a woman
I know that already as I was born with a penis.
>you Black person
Says the 56% white
>Jannie euro homosexual
I don't think you know what janny means.
>The image that anon posted wasnt bad at all and was proof that even your beloved cement shit can't hold up to tornados.
What are you talking about? Take your meds.
>All made at the same Chinese factories.
I can tell you for a fact the higher end series of Bosch and Miele are made in Germany and the cheaper shit is made in Turkey. Not China.
>Seriously you homosexual euros have the IQ of rocks.
You make a blatantly false claim and call everyone else stupid. I admire your idiot confidence, to be honest.
Black person all of those "Made in Germany" appliances have parts sourced from Chinese suppliers and are ASSEMBLED by Turkish hands in a German factory. Don't fool anyone.
>>The image that anon posted wasnt bad at all and was proof that even your beloved cement shit can't hold up to tornados.
> What are you talking about? Take your meds.
A rare European tornado nuked a european village. You saw it you dickless janny and deleted the pic like the gay you are. KYS
>put it in the tilt pos- Oh no ahahahahaha
Sorry I have an air conditioner but you wouldn't know what that is since it makes gays like you scared.
#
You speak English so unless you're an anglo you're speaking the dominant language and culture .
>Black person all of those "Made in Germany" appliances have parts sourced from Chinese suppliers
So does literally everything and anything with electronics these days. Minor components probably. Chinks make all levels of quality it doesn't have to mean shit, QC is what is important.
>A rare European tornado nuked a european village. You saw it you dickless janny and deleted the pic like the gay you are. KYS
Ah so you do know what janny means. I did not see it though. You are deranged.
>Sorry I have an air conditioner
Same bro
>but you wouldn't know what that is since it makes gays like you scared.
Yeah bro I shit my pants every time I step into my room, I know, it sucks. It's still better than sharting in the mart however.
Does this image piss you off?
I thought yuros built houses that can handle the apocalypse!
> Each beloved brick is a projectile that destroys everything else.
Somewhere on that debris there's a Bosch or miehle washing machine that vomited it's chinesium the second the weather got bad.
Most of that seems to be roof damage? There are still walls standing. The red building on the right was still under construction.
Are you trying to suggest those buildings are going to be repaired instead of torn down?
>Does this image piss you off?
No I laugh too, don't worry.
>I thought yuros built houses that can handle the apocalypse!
Only southeast!
First, KYS and you will never be a woman you Black person Jannie euro homosexual. The image that anon posted wasnt bad at all and was proof that even your beloved cement shit can't hold up to tornados.
All made at the same Chinese factories. Seriously you homosexual euros have the IQ of rocks.
I think this is all moronic.
It doesn't fricking matter if the the machine is sideways. What matters is how pozzed the program is.
>heat
>soapy water
>agitation
It's not rocket surgery, but if it gets pozzed and removes an aspect of the 3 because californians are getting desiccated so they can sell almonds to blugarians, then the machine will not wash for shit.
front load washers would probably not suck black wiener if they filled up like 33-50% with water. but even on the "bulky bedding" with "extra water" setting enabled, you can't even see the fricking fill line when it's filling.
Replace it and you will have no problem. If you want sympathy it's between shit and syphilis in the dictionary.
Why do you want to put a frick load of detergent in so badly?
you're bored aren't you. imagine being enraged by an appliance.
I got mine for free so I don't really care.
Is there a real difference between front load and top load? I have a Samsung top load and so far it's been great. My wife does the washing though.
What the frick are you talking about. Top loaders are seen as total poorgay garbage in Yurop, you only buy one if you live in a shithole with no space to open the front.
>it's easier on clothes.... so that means its better!
That is a HUGE advantage is it not?
I don’t see any rebar.
That’s pretty horrible. The first minor quake that comes along is going to kill millions.
American problems, probably stemming from their terrible applianceslop they sell over there. Here in Europe, millions of front loaders have been washing clothes reliably for decades.
>uhm aktshullay in europe
God yuros are insufferable. You realize all appliances, especially washers, are owned by like 2-3 companies, right?
This wasn't the case in the past. Regardless, this fact is orthogonal to the fact that machines designed for US use (probably designed by US engineers to fit the local market) seem to not be up to par to their European counterparts.
Miele, Bosch, Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, Sharp, Panasonic, ... are all separate companies.
>powder soap only
>double rinse so my clothes smell like nothing instead of leftover fragrance that will absorb into my skin
>line dry only
simple as
I hope you're not wearing polyester anon, an certainly not putting in the dryer to that lint can be shot into the air around your house. now that the weather is warming up it's time to break out the linen too.
how do you frick your stepmom/stepsister when they get stuck in a toploader?
I cannot believe how shitty those things are.
Do Americans really?
>not cleaning properly
are you setting the water temperature properly? I use 60C for stuff that *must* be clean (towels, briefs, etc.), but I know there are models that can go up to 90C.
>buy washer
>put clothes in on 'normal' mode
>makes clothes clean
>5 years later with zero maintenance
>push clothes in on 'normal' mode
>makes clothes clean
How do you people manage to frick this up?
https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2012/05/31/2012-12320/energy-conservation-program-energy-conservation-standards-for-residential-clothes-washers
You're an ignorant Black person and an ignorant Black person you'll always be.
nta but do you really expect us to read all that shit? why'd you link to it?
Just buy a damn toploader and quit bothering us about it you gigasperg
top loads are for men
So I work on these for a living. Let me give you the spill.
Theres a filter. Clean it once a month. If its picrel, youll have to pop the front or back cover off and have a vac ready.
Drain ports are in the boot. Clean em or they hold water and mold over.
Ditch the fabric softener.
Theyre not going to be spun completely dry. If you want it dry-dry, buy a Samsung/LG. Otherwise suck it up.
Drain hose 5 inches in the pipe. Idgaf how much hose you have left. Five inches or it sucks it back up.
