All the mexicans I served with were already citizens, second or third generation socal families. Getting stationed in either San Diego or 29 Palms lets them live their lives relatively normally on weekends and 96s, date local girls, etc. They get money in their pocket to rice out their subie or honda. Never really met a total shitbag mexican in the Corps, they speak english and mingle with the whites fine, I would say the Marine Corps whitewashes them but a fair number are gang sleepers with no affiliation that immediately go to work for the cartels so it's almost like an act
