It's used by all skilled shooters who regularly make hits on targets out past 50 yards with a pistol.
Meanwhile isoceles is only used by obese tacticards who think that magdumping at 3'x4' targets from 7 yards away is supposed to be impressive

If you enjoy slow fire target shooting that's cool . I like mag dumping because it's fun.
what's stopping you from mag dumping with the chapman stance?
Generally it's better to put your weight behind the handgun to help reduce muzzle climb if that's what you're doing.
if you weigh 120 pounds sure
nothing, it's just that people who train isoceles are obsssessed with
>muh rapid target trannies and transitions
and think that's more important than making hits on target
I can't tell from the angle of the video but did he really take the time to aim at something point blank, or is the pressure from the barrel really causing that wood to be pushed like that? Because both cases seem absurd.
It's cardboard
Instagram unironically. It's a cespool for bragging about your coolest new product and informing strangers who wouldn't care if you died tomorrow that you "train" (you shoot every month or so but take 1000 videos and pictures)
Are you guys retarded? He's obviously using the cardboard as a blocker and shooting around it at a target further down range.

Desire to be part of a "tribe" but spending 90% of your free time on the internet, you eventually just gravitate towards the largest personalities on youtube or whatever and try to emulate them.

thats from the us army training manual. what you thought was zoomiefudd was just...boomerfudd. sorry you couldnt distinguish the two. both embarrassing.
*mogs both*
Colonel, I'll put the 1911 and Hi-Power back into carry rotation, sir!
But he only other handgun he liked was the cz75
Creedmoor>all
sneedmore=you
I shoot one handed,
1. it's cooler
2. if SOMETHING bad happens I am used to firing without a stabilizing hand
3. it's what people who have learned from bad experiences taught me
based and europilled
WAsn't Webly, but it's comforting to know it's not just me
It was actually this guy.
His point was this
>you won't always be able to have a hand free especially if you're attacked by a schizo or an animal (my uncle got fucked by a bear so it made more sense)
>you won't always have the room or the angle to shoot with two hands
>if you're on your ass, in a car, on the floor, or in the brush, you won't be able to get a good stance off
Obviously it's different with rifles. unless the euros have a stance for that.
I enjoy they trained walking over the dead bodies
>The one guy with his hand in his pocket
What a fucking Chad
He's one of the only ones doing it right. One other guy has his thumb hooked into his belt which is also acceptable.
Based hand in pocket chadlad
FUN FACT, my dad has one of these revolvers in the loft of his house, and now we get to see if bongland authorities are any good at getting PrepHole to ID people
Please let us know if they knock on your door
Could you imagine how much more effective soldiers back then would be if they had today's training?
they had SOVL
with today's training, they'd be SOVLLESS
/thread
if you can't shoot one-handed, you'll fall on your ass and get killed the moment you lose your balance
agreed it's called handgun not handsgun
absolute gentleman, you do stand perpendicular to you target with your shooting arm as far out as possible too right?
>2. if SOMETHING bad happens I am used to firing without a stabilizing hand
This so much, it's called a handgun for a reason.
One should be able to shoot one-handed with either hand. This is important for corners, shooting from cover, and maneuverability.
However, most semi-autos point like shit with some exceptions whereas pic related points like a dream, its plow handle rolls with each shot and is meant to be held one-handed, and it draws quick
However, the biggest brain plays with a handgun is knowing where to place it when performing a task like retrieving water from a well. Like pic related, having the handgun somewhere immediately accessible allows one to respond quicker than by drawing, and way faster than bringing a rifle up.
Why are you using a pistol at 50 yards instead of something better?
>he doesn't know that handguns for targets 50yds-250 yds, and rifles are for 250yds+
i feel sorry for you anon that you never learned to shoot
>colt's army revolver
How about an example that isn't from the late 1800s?
modern ammunition means pistol calibers are more effective at longer ranges 🙂
It's true, pistols won't work on anything closer than 50 yards.
Pistol bullets take 50 yards for the warhead to arm. It’s a well known safety mechanism. Means you won’t blow yourself up if you accidentally drop a bullet while reloading.
Oh but I do use the weaver stance anon.
I first started with the isosceles stance cause that's what my dad taught me to do, but I gave the weaver stance a try years ago and found it gave better results so I stuck with it.
It also looks cooler so there's that.
center axis can 100m
stances named for some sexy dude you wanna suck are fake and gay.
An athletic and balanced fighting stance is the only based shooting base
Unless the weaver stance is named for that ruby ridge teen that orphaned some bootlicker kids, then that's based af
I shoot bladed because that's how they do in the movie
I don't give a shit what anyone's gay dogma delineates. I do what's comfy for me.
Isoceles is used because of the idea that being squared off to the target is better for your body armor's coverage. It's a cop thing but they also taught it to me in the Army. I grew up shooting a ton in a bladed stance so I still default to that and shoot very well with that.
>this
Isosceles is meant for shooting in body armor which is useless unless you’re a cop/mil or you just wear a PC in public I guess.
You are wrong and not very smart.
This is cop fuddlore. Isocelese is ment to direct the recoil in a straight line towards the shooter, as opposed to weavers swinging gate recoil.
This is fuddlore. Isosceles is used to for the purpose of moving while firing and nothing else. If one foot is far behind the other then your range of movement is reduced. And as we all now know the second most important thing after making a shot is to get away from where a shot came from so they can’t shoot you back.
>he has to shoot slow in the boomer stance to get hits
Post groups and splits.
Uhh i shoot nra expert bullseye what's the split for that?
You can only shoot slow?
That’s how white people shoot, I hold my gun at a 45 degree angle and slightly elevate it over my head so I can fire down at an angle and the downward momentum makes bullets go faster.
Fear my superior monkey style.
I didn't even know how I shot had a name. I always just did what felt natural and what got results for me and apparently that's chapman.
Paul technically shoots weaver (firing hand elbow bent)
But hickok and 22 plinkster both shoot chapman (elbow intentionally locked)
>regularly make hits on targets out past 50 yards with a pistol.
Ah yes, because most self-defense shootings occur outside 50yds.
kys retard, modified isosceles is the best stance for practical shooting.
If you can hit your opponent at 50 yards then at 7 yards you can hit him in the cranium or spinal column and end the fight instantly with a single shot. And you can also take down a mass shooter from across Walmart.
If you can't consistently hit somebody in the t-zone shooting isosceles then you are unironically just garbage
>chapman stance
Who the fuck calls weaver that?
Chapman is weaver but with elbow locked straight
because I shoot like a man and not a pants-pissing scaredycat pantywaist
Let's see your groups
i grouped in your mom last night
Thats cute now post groups and guns
>groups
Two world wars, how’s that for groups
You didn't participate in either of those wars anon.
>get’s hit in the armpit and dies instantly of an exploded heart
How about you put your protection towards your enemy?
You wear body armor day to day?
Step aside, bitches
>god pulls the trigger
Is that a really big gun or are those guys tiny?
Those are women
Your argument sucks balls
Jerry Fucking Miculek uses Isosceles
He's bar none the best pistol shooter alive and possibly to have ever lived.
Iscoceles doesn't even make sense on paper. You can't lock your wrist and simultaneously keep the sight plane in your line of sight with your body square to the target like that. You'd have to bend your wrist and completely ruin your trigger and recoil control. The only way to shoot a pistol competently is to turn your whole arm into a rifle.
Wut
>You can't lock your wrist and simultaneously keep the sight plane in your line of sight with your body square to the target like that
You can if you rotate the elbows outwards.
?t=213
>Taran tactical
Does "tactical" mean practising to take shots at point blank distance of 2 ft?
Does deflecting negate Bob Vogel's world championships?
Woah thats my cousin
>holosun
try it with one foot forward akin to a boxing stance while wearing armor.. never knew why they always have their feet in-line like that
I don't know if it's just me, but the weaver stance is extremely uncomfortable. Specifically my left shoulder/upper arm, the way you're supposed to contort your left side as a right-handed shooter just seems really unnatural and uncomfortable for me. And no, I'm not a little old frail man with arthritis, I'm 31 years old and 6'0
>I don't know if it's just me, but the weaver stance is extremely uncomfortable. Specifically my left shoulder/upper arm, the way you're supposed to contort your left side as a right-handed shooter just seems really unnatural and uncomfortable for me.
Chapman stance = hold and aim a pistol as if you're holding a rifle
Simple as.
If you're using the flexible elbow weaver then yeah i can see that being unstable
Stances are for söyboys.
Real men simply do what feels natural in the moment.
my dad was a boomer that invaded grenada in the 80s. he was a sniper in the 82nd airborne. he taught us all how to shoot and was the shooting sports instructor for our 4-h club and boy scout troop. He made us all shoot weaver and always clowned on isosceles. Never gave a reason, it's just what he preferred so he made us do it. Now that's how I shoot and shooting isosceles feels super weird and I just do not do it at all. Personally I don't think there's any different at all in the two stances. It's just what works for you, what you learned first. I shoot weaver when I shoot in competition events, and people who shoot isosceles and do just fine there too.
Nuanced takes aren't allowed on this board, asshole.
When I don’t one hand I chap
Ain't quick enough
Center Axis Relock, bitches
Y tho?
Because he saw John Wick and never learned when and why people use it.
Spoon feed me. Is the center axis relock stance a total meme and should never be used, or is there an actual use for it?
Very niche, like shooting from a car
It's a more natural close quarter fighting stance
It's good for clearing your house, not that doing so is particularly wise.
doing this john wick shit dry firing while drunk i swear i would have blown my biceps off.
Needs practice to be effective.
Finally an operator
the thumbs are in the wrong position
>thumbs press against each other
Wtf kind of grip is that
John WIC grip
Clear a gun and try it, it makes sense for what it's doing.
The fucking googly eyes have me dying. I literally LOL'd
I don't understand how this site specifically has a shit fit over any minute detail like a stance. If it works for you it works for you. Each stance has their own pros and cons and you just use what works.
Because people who engage in an activity at a high level care about fine details.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>anon is pro skub
Dude you cant just drop that word around here like its nbd
I have a shitfit because everyone who shares my opinion is correct while everyone who has an opposing opinion is a dumb fat retard who fills their asshole with cocks at every opportunity and they come on here and post their dumb shit like they aren’t currently filled with other men’s semen. It’s ridiculous.
"stances" are a meme, and the mark of an unexperienced shooter.
Find your body's natural position and grip that both optimizes your accuracy and comfort.
Everyone's body is different. Doing the same thing as everyone else is counterintuitive.
The true professional utilizes techniques that appear to the outside observer to be utter nonsense
Weaver was crippled and couldn't extend all the way out
>Weaver was crippled and couldn't extend all the way out
Yeah cause he would have shot chapman if he could
>listening to aspie
Lmao why don't you listen to weaver explain it himself
I don’t even know what my stance is I just do what I’ve honed over time to be accurate, comfortable, and consistent over time. I’ve never seen a picture of myself in my stance I probably look stupid.
Which one would be better for SAA fast shooting (Slip hammering).
mag dumping is rad and being accurate is fucking fun too
why the 'all or nothing' about this shit. Fuck, have some fun out there.
>Fuck, have some fun out there
We're not allowed to do that here
No, you must only shoot ARs and glocks. Nothing else
Weaver feels weird to me after shooting properly with Iso for years and years. Much better for recoil control and more accurate since you don't have to worry about any "stance" other than shoulders to target and legs apart. Everything is 100% full force forward, slight bend in elbows to mitigate recoil.
The whole idea of weaver is just odd it feels unnatural and having to worry about if I'm doing 40% on non dom hand vs. 60 on shooting hand and doesn't seem very stable if you're gonna be pushed down or encounter resistance.
To add to this, Weaver encourages dominant eye preference which is what you should not be doing when shooting you should be target focused and red dot/front sight focused over wasting time trying to align sights up. This is why people get clowned for saying red dots are a meme and still cling to their Weaver/iron sights stance because they are compensating for lack of recoil control and proper shooting technique and keeping their bad habits.
What distance do you shoot pistol at anon?
normally for running drills @10-15 yards, for sighting in RDS 25 yards, and long range normally 25 yards with handgun on a B8 target.
I have shot weaver for years. Isoceles is better.
I always thought that the isoceles stance was just for when your wearing body armor? Exposing the full plate to the threat for maximum protection?
In a fight you focus 100% on disabling the enemy. You don't "do" anything to make your armor work better, and if your armor takes hits that means you fucked up.
I don't care about what other people do with their guns or how they shoot them. I don't know who any of the people in OPs pic are or give a shit either. Leave me alone with my guns.
Get on my level.
Chadman stance vs Incelceles stance
I use a Chapman style stance with the high up hand positioning typical of an Isosceles. My grip hand is locked straight out and I use my deltoid/pec/bicep pad as a sort of impromptu stock. It works really well for me tbh
I like the 1950’s fbi quick draw point shoot technique...there’s an awesome YouTube channel that has their old training videos
Link to youtube channel?
Here is the video...pretty cool
test
Does anyone in America have a normal body type?
I shoot exclusively the rock-the-baby stance
omg the Tintin-grip is real!
Shoot in your fighting stance. If your fighting stance sucks for shooting fix your fighting stance. There shouldn't be a difference between the two, you should have one solid danger stance. This is what they actually train now.
A lot of the high speed guys on my team would make fun of Duane D., but his system does use the same stance, ready positions etc whether you are hands on or guns. They do teach the high ready which is why our 417’s thag the little skill crusher cap on the foregrip and after getting smashed in the helmet a thousand times it does serve a purpose.
My bad 416’s not big HK’s.
I do the weird arm-cheek weld thing, I find it helps with my cross eye dominance
Fairbairn point shooting from the hip!
WITH THE MIDDLE FINGER
while stomping the foot
isoceles for skinny jeans
chapman for baggy pants
>I found out why larper boys don't get off the flat range very much
>They got them skinny jeans, can't lift their legs up high
GAY!
Isoceles presents your plate as the largest target. this is why it is trained for in the service. any amount of blading your stance presents a greater amount of unarmored torso.
That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. You shoot as fast and accurately as possible, full stop. If your armor doesn't accommodate the best possible form then it's useless. Sacrificing performance to increase armor coverage is literally planning to fail. Ideally you shouldn't give the enemy any chance to even put your armor to the test at all. The whole point of armor is that it's supposed to be a completely passive defense, unlike a shield. It must conform to you, not the other way around.
how you feel about how armor should work has no bearing on how it actually works.
>Sacrificing performance to increase armor coverage is literally planning to fail.
By which you must actually mean "accepting reality", since the ultimate test is a target that shoots back at you, and it has been demonstrated over and over that when TSHTF shot placement goes to hell.
Also, you've just argued in favor of an unarmored tank.
Yeah and as retarded as it is this is true, at least the training part. I still believe a bladed stance would increase the effectiveness of the armor because of the same reason slopped armor on vehicles does. Also side plates exist so it's not like you're completely fucked.
Either way a slight bladed stance is not going to kill you if you can shoot better with it do it.
You’re saying to literally present the largest target possible
Years before I even knew that there were different stances or that they had names, I was always putting my left foot forward. Even shooting arcade games like Area 51, I'm not really sure where I picked it up, just felt natural. Maybe I subconsciously learned it from movies or something. As I got older and was trusted to shoot real guns it just kinda stuck. My grandpa never corrected me so I guess he didn't see a problem with it. I'm a better shot than most of my friends, but also I shoot for fun, not competition. tl;dr it probably isn't a topic worth taking a strong stance on (tasty unintended pun)
>Weaver
it's overall ok
>Chapman
Retarded boomer weaver variant for people with rheumatoid arthritis
>Isoceles
Best for flat range and competition, overall ok aswell
>Center Axis Relock
Very situational, specially for cops, good for Self Defense, terrible for anything else.
I exclusively shoot from the hip and adjust my aim based on bullet impacts
9mm is the reason why mag dumping has become so widespread. It's hilarious because muh capacity means shit if you have to spend more bullets per target to consistently incapacitate (which is more important than le killing) yet tacticool larpers are too daft to realize that much.
I prefer to shoot one handed
I don’t know why
