Why are Hi Points shifting on so hard? Is it richfags who can't stop flexing their nice handguns which can do exactly what a Hi Point can for 500 dollars more?

It’s a psy op by all the major world governments to make people think that hipoints are trash instead of the ultimate weapon they are.
It’s because they bear a striking physical resemblance to their core consumer demographic group
Most of the firearms community for the last 50+ years are sheeple that gravitate towards guns that have a military or LE contract. This was especially the case in the GWOT-era. We're also talking about a demographic that feels the intense need to fly a flag of one team or another so major arms manufacturers are usually the ones that get the most support. Thus, smaller manufacturers with a focus on providing for private civilians often get ignored.
That said, Hi-points are big, heavy, ugly, and just feel shitty to handle and shoot.
A hi point is an unreliable, straight blowback budget gun and performs like it. They aren't fun to shoot because they kick like a 10mm in 9mm. The literal only thing they have going for them is that they're cheap. But even then, you might as well go with a Taurus, which can actually get through a magazine without malfunctioning. I'm not rich myself, but I do own an expensive gun or two. I don't defend buying something like picrel over a Taurus or an M&P because those are actual cheap guns that perform really well. None of this changes the fact that the hi point is a shitty gun that you shouldn't trust your life to.
Hi points are functional guns that will cycle reliably to a somewhat acceptable extent ,especially after a breakin period.
They represent the minimum cost required to make and sell a full sized handgun caliber autoloader for profit. Singlestack, low capacity, shit dissasembly shit trigger, shit sights , ???customisations??? Where????, heavy, big and bulky for its capacity. " but they shoot bullets and you can afford one if you stop smoking, drinking and overeating as much
Most of the people who love them saw a click bait YouTube video and never actually owned one.
Mine did not go bang reliably. It's a 2 and a half pound direct blowback gun that holds 8 shots. It sucks ass compared to a $300 Security 9
Why are microcompacts like the LCP just as cheap? For the price to utility reliability you’re better off with the 380
They're a very flexible platform.
holy shit lol
Not mine, its a project that someone is doing in a group I'm a part of.
Its a Hi Point Carbine in an Enfield stock and sheet metal for a shroud. He's also incorporating a Nydar stight as well.
Whoops forgot pics
This is the kind of purpose Hi Points were meant for
Have...have you actually managed to defile a hi point
I want this to be a thing
I won't lie, I'm intrigued
I'd say he transformed it
Same
What the fuck is that thing?
bubba no!
>Why are Hi Points shifting on so hard?
I have no idea what this means.
I own a JHP .45. I bought it because I wanted a .45 just to mess around with.
Pros:
>Cheap
>Completely reliable (with ball ammo and factory mags, all bets are off if you try anything else). Again this is just mine though so maybe others are less reliable, I don't know.
>Reasonably accurate
>Soft recoil (due to the fuckhuge slide)
>Durable enough for any realistic use case, especially when you consider that this is not a military/hunting gun but a "stick it in some drawer until you need to smoke someone" gun
Cons:
>Awful ergonomics
>Smooth grip that you need to put some grip tape on for it to be acceptable
>A complete bitch to strip/clean
>Heavy as a cinder block
>Gigantic. Even carrying it in a fanny pack would be tough. Holster or IWB would be preposterous.
>Reliability goes to shit if you experiment at all with any modifications, any aftermarket magazines, any non-standard ammunition (including hollowpoints) etc.
>The rails are some weirdo proprietary shit so if you want to add accessories (a light etc) you need to buy Hi Point brand accessories (which mostly don't exist or are total dog shit)
>People assume you're a ghetto retard about to pull some type stuff if you bring it out at the range
Pretty much it sucks but it does check the box of being a functional handgun that could kill an intruder.
Das rite
Groid hands typed this post.
I want to buy 15 high points and hide them around my house. No extra mags, just grab another high point when the first one runs out of ammo.
I went shooting with a guy who had a hi point and he wouldn't stop comparing it to my glock and how it's the same gun for less than half as much. Well, it's definitely not the same gun, but it does fit the definition of a gun that successfully shoots bullets. I just wanted to hang out and shoot holes in cans. Anyway, I never hung out with the guy again. Hi point owners seem to have a chip on their shoulder.
Are you the guy who made a thread a while ago asking for a good CC and harping on about muh accuracy while refusing to accept any recommendation of a mid-tier pistol or higher for something you were supposedly going to trust your life to?
If there was ever a thing in life you should spend heavily on, it’s a weapon to defend yourself
Hi-points are cheap, and preform cheap.
It doesn’t explode and regenerate when you throw it.
If you want to get philosophical about it. A gun is a transportation device to the afterlife.
You have chosen one of those adult tricycles with an orange flag at the back.
Coulda had a v8
>wtf why don't people like this heavy, silly-looking, oversized makarov?
inb4 someone deflects by making fun of me DARING to say something was heavy.
It is gun, for people who need gun. What is not to like?
