Why are glocks so unreliable?

Why are glocks so unreliable? Whenever footage of a police shooting comes out the glocks fail nearly every time and the officer is seen trying to clear a malfunction like clockwork.

You should watch PoliceActivity on YouTube, lots of bodycam footage of shootings and every now and then there's a malfunctioning Glock

me personally I'm a big fan of Glocks, I tried the G19 and it was small but controllable, compact etc. I prefer older Glocks but I can see the complaints (since I also shot a 1911 from Springfield armories where I was able to at least control it accurately) 9mm isnt the best when it comes to stopping power from what I've heard

Police departments and armies are notorious for having shit maintenance.

Gun jammed? Oh well, gotta ask for a replacement.

Glocks are good but not perfect. I've personally owned Glocks with issues and know others who have too. Either way it's better than any Nig Sour.

it's plastic gun, manufacturer has much higher profit margins on plastics than metal but real cost is transferred to customer in form of decreased reliability.

This poster has nonidea what he's talking about

Only reason so many departments use glocks, and thus neckbeard wannabe cops and military buy them is glock gave them away for free to departments.

Nobody wanted glocks when they first came out, and glock was on the verge of bankruptcy.

Wrong. PDs like Glocks because they're almost retard-proof and dont require much maintenance or care from their users. The malfunctions you see are almost all as a result of limpwristing and improper grip which just comes down to trianing within the agency. Cheaper to buy a gun that removes any skill requirement to use than it is to train your peoplento be competant.

        >They use Glocks because theyre so simple you don't need to train with them
        >The malfunctions are only because of lack of training

Having to spell shit out to you people is really tiresome. Training to competantly handle a Glock = cheaper than training to competantly handle most other potential duty weapons. That doesnt mean they actually train their officers consistently. Police departments are constantly juggling between saving money and avoiding liability issues and the result is usually underfunded cops in the areas that matter (driving, shooting, use of force competancy, etc) that meet the absolute bare minimum required by state law.

They didn't have these problems when they were issued 5906 in peak violent crime 90s. Cope more

Shooting under stress may cause them to limp wrist it?

Glock’s success was always due to the fact they undercut every other competitor by a huge margin and they’d send out a mini celeb rep like Ermey to give out a ton of free shirts and keychains and shit until they said yes.
That’s it. They are the accord/Acura/civic of guns.

      >limp wrist
      >the gun’s extraction and ejection isn’t shit, you just need to squeeze harder
      Classic Glock cope.

    >Glock makes up over 60% of law enforcement sales
    >therefore more likely to be glocks used in body cam footage
    >police are untrained retards who improperly handle their guns
    >you can find videos of MPs, 320s, and 226s jamming through mishandling in police shooting but glocks are way more common so it seems like they are more unreliable

They aren't, my factory glocks have never malfunctioned and I have a few of them

Limpwristing. Its user error due to poor weapons training, not a mechanical failure. Some agencies let guys put shitty aftermarket stuff on their guns too and they dont shoot them enough to work out the kinks. Properly handled, Glocks are extremely reliable weapons. They dont leave much room in their construction for a failure. Not supposed to lube them much, etc.
