Why what? The concept was sound, the execution just wasn't ideal. Red dots at the time were huge tubes aimpoint tubes (the 3000 is longer than the upper it mounts on, the M2 wouldn't exist for another 3 years and eotech wasn't founded until 96), so the G36 red dot was pretty compact by comparison. While the Acog existed in the 90s, the majority of compact optics of the time did not have a wide FOV, the M145 and Aug scopes are comparable to the Hensoldt. The G36 sight is very much a time capsule of the technology of the early 90s, by comparison to its contemporaries it was super compact (if you ignore the carry handle and just focus on the sight itself) but time moves on and rendered it a relic.
I wish Hensoldt made a new dual optic with modern glass and larger windows. The AUG has a few "retro-ish" options that keep the A1 lines but with relevant performance.
Because it was a fast acquisition sight that worked with night vision 30 years ago. That's right b***h the German army was fitted out for full spectrum NV warfare over thirty years ago.
>bloody ‘ell mate, eh Johnson, come check out this Yanks bloody rifle >that ain’t half magical, my cousin is in the RFC and his Aldis scope must weigh the same as your rifle >gonna drop some Jerries next time they try a trench raid then, eh, Uncle Sam? >don’t drop it in the mud though, you’ll never see it again >same with your magazi
The K top with the iron sights was always way more aesthetic than this weird bulging thing. Apparently they just put a rail on that space nowadays so you can have way better holo sights there too.
A 3.5x scope is always good however. All rifles should have a 3x or 4x optic to go with an unmagnified one.
because whatever homosexual LPVO you're always posting about on reddit wasn't available then
dont you ever call me a redditor again
Then stop acting like one.
realistically how would you know if i did or not, there's no usernames like you're used to on reddit
FINAL warning
Are you here from reddit /cumslurpingsatanistcucks Karl?

>What are you gonna do?
He's going to post nudes of his GF on reddit
What are you gonna do?
It’s just a good reticle.
Because the military contract is more lucrative when you are the guy selling the optic

did they do anything cool with all that NV warfare
>did they do anything cool with all that NV warfare
Won the cold war and reunited Germany
Because 90s
Imagine if you went back in time to ww1 and showed everyone your AR15 with its LPVO, MLOK rails and suppressor. They'd worship you as a God.
they'd prob think you're some alien from a gay planet
They'd probably want to suck your dick and imbibe your gigachad sperM if you showed them this awesomness.
Cringe
You mean... based? Come on, man. You would totally suck me off to get this in the year 1902.
>1902
Or, I could have a Madsen
They just laugh at cartridge made from killing raccoons.
3/10" or bust!

And then they all died to an artillery barrage
Why what? Get with the times, old man. 25 year old proprietary optic is outdated.
