Why 10mm is better

Simple, you get better stopping power of 10mm, plus you can use 9mm ammo to save money. I prefer a mixed 10-9 load.

I was walking along, minding my own, and up pops one of them Brotherhoods. He yells "Hand over that laser rifle, butthole!" So I hand it over, just to make him think I'm scared! But really I'm not! I never am! Before he knows what hit him, I draw my 11mm machinegun and BAM! BAM! Right through the eyeslit in his helmet! D.O.A.!"

you meme but it is possible to shoot 40 S&W out of a 10mm.

It damages your extractor and really isn't that much cheaper than shooting cheap target ammo 10mm.

        Anonymous

How does it damage the extractor

          Anonymous

Because the shorter casing doesn't headspace on the shoulder of the cartridge, the only thing holding it in place for the firing pin is the extractor. Also you'll damage the chamber for the same reason, the round isn't fully seated in the chamber where it's supposed to be.

            Anonymous

As far as damaging the chamber, I think it's more likely that you'll create a ring of residue if you don't do a good job of cleaning your barrel which could potentially cause a jammed round or an overpressure situation.

Maybe just shoot .22 LR for half the shots, and 10mm for the other half. That way the average recoil will be less than that of 9mm, but you'll still have huge stopping power.

Let's imagine for a second you're a non-virgin so open carry is a big no, you don't dress in a baggy flannel and cargo shorts every day, and you actually bend over from time to time and drive a car, so carrying a G20 is out of the question.

    Can you qualify with this?

what if he's a non-virgin but also too old to get laid or be expected to look presentable in casual clothes? old men get the "wear a 3 piece suit every day" bonus ability.

The narrow backstrap on every SC I've shot, excluding glock double stacks like the 26, are uncomfortable af to shoot.
If anyone here only shoots their carry piece, you owe yourself a range/nightstand gun that you actually enjoy shooting. CZ, Beretta 92/M9, Glock, M&P full size, brand doesn't even matter. Carry guns suck.

yeah you're a fricking queer. Just carry whatever handgun you want on your hip and put a shirt over it, it doesn't even have to be a baggy or dress shirt.
I go to the store every day with my handgun on my hip and print pretty obviously and nobody gives a frick. The guards smile and wave and i tell them to have a good day.

Appendix has several advantages, especially in areas where carry is allowed but not common so concealment is paramount. That said, if you can't cc something atleast the size of a 19 in appendix you're too fat. Hell I'm still pretty fat (6'5 220) and I can cc a 17 easily

OP, did you know you can manually chamber a 45 ACP round in a G20 if you tap it with a hammer and screwdriver a few times?

  9. 2 years ago

Glock 10mm "platform" seems like no-brainer to adopt as service pistol.

You got all the way up to a G40 with 9" barrel, optic ready, big dick extended mag and maybe brace for near PDW you can still holster and not much weight.....

all the way down to stubby CCW that can also shoot 40SW and/or take drop in 9mm barrel and will cycle mild 9mm just fine.

Plus option of 9x25 Dillion drop in barrels.

They say Glock not up to true military use because plastic but really? just buy another if it breaks its dirt cheap in big scheme.

Barrel swaps are a rip off. If you can chamber the round you're good to go

        Anonymous

yeah, but you need a swap to chamber 9mm in 10mm

army would probably put 40SW barrels in 10mm for gate guards and MPs etc for "over penetration".

I was thinking of getting a 10mm for hiking. How does a Glock 20 compare to others like S&W? Nobody seems to have any reliable comparisons for this, just 10mm vs 45acp.

      Anonymous

10mm is not a common round because it is a palm slapper. You'll know you're not shooting 9/40/45. But both choices are good between the M&P and Glock. Try both, but both companies were early to the game. Some shit just depends on your personal body mechanics.

The sig xten is out and I'm waiting to try one. Might retire my G20 if they get great reviews and they don't have drop issues.

Fricking love my G20, but I had to use a Dremel and sanding wheel to remove some material to make it fit my hand better. Frickheug grip for my smol hands. The sig grip is like 1" less in diameter.

Glock 40 is prob better for the woods. X ten better on people with 180 gr. 220gr hard cast are too long for the mag if you load more than 10.

Wait you can use 9mm in a 10mm gun? I knew about 223 and 5.56 but not this tbh. Are any other calibers interchangeable?

I mean yeah there are plenty, but 10mm guns need a barrel swap to shoot 9mm. You can shoot .40 short and weak (sort of) since it's based off the same case.

357 magnum can shoot 38 special
44 magnum can shoot 44 special

Anybody know of a good drop in .357 sig barrel for a g20?
