Take it to Lowes and ask real nice for a warranty replacement. When they ask how it happened say you don't know.

You generally don't even have to ask anymore. The minimum wage employees hate the stores they work at so much they don't bother asking questions, and give replacements away on shit that doesn't even have a warranty.

        >tfw my klein pliers broke on the job and they have a lifetime zero questions asked warranty
        >brought them to home depot and the fricking hot cheeto eating b***hes behind the customer service desk started acting like they were being forced to give me their own personal set of kleins

Still got my replacement pair free of charge. Frick them.

We don't even buy Klein pliers at work anymore. They don't last.

You got a shitty customer service rep. When my Klein wire cutters get dull, they tell me to grab new ones and I’m gone in 5min.

Had a friend do this back when Sears was still open, took and back and they replaced it without a question.

Yeah, back when sears was still open I snapped a torque wrench head off in a socket and couldn't be assed to get it out. The socket was fine and I tried to warranty it out, the guy said the socket was still good so no, I told him I'd just smack it with a sledgehammer and bring it back damaged and he gave me a new one.

Yea anon is right about Amazon and Walmart. Craftsman was like the only thing that was still profitable at Sears, that’s why Stanley bougnt it up for $$$$.

I DMd them on the facebook and told them all the Sears around here closed, that I'm over an hour away from any store that would honor the warranty and it looks like they're going to just mail me one

Does Lowe’s carry the same breaker bar? Or any Ace Hardware or True Value? I’m curious how it would go like if you bust a shitty old Craftsman 36T ratchet, it would be cool if Lowe’s would give you a fresh 72T or store credit.

Anyway a lot of the better tool brands on Amazon will do the same thing with the warranty. Snap a pic of the busted one and they will Prime ship you a new one, assuming it’s a hand tool and not some $250 digital torque wrench. Not worth it for them to pay return shipping for the old one. Hopefully shipping is quick, wonder if they still have those old ones floating around or you get the new Lowe’s model like pic related. Would be sweet if your old one was like 15”-18” and they sent you a ~24” model.

Just realized the new one they sell, at least at Lowe’s, is 15” for the 1/2”. Gay. Next time you’re near Harbor Freight and they have a coupon for the 25” Pitt Pro, you should snag it. They’re one of the few things at HF that are still a steal, even at their regular price, assuming they didn’t drop the quality after they released the Icon for double the price but seem to be exactly the same with inverted colors and a stamp on the steel

I got like half a dozen 3/4" drive breakers from Tractor Supply for $2.50 apiece on clearance. I think I've used one, once.

Was a cool idea while it lasted but Ridgid pulled the plug. You can see charge cycles and battery health and temp on the app, plus you can lock out the batteries after a certain time or if they go out of bluetooth range and the app will tell you the location of the last time the battery was seen.

Other companies have bluetooth on some of their tools like Milwaukee’s One Key and Bosch has some little tracker thing you can add onto certain tools. I think like Milwaukee’s 1” impact, you can do custom torque setting through the app.

Nice. The boomer thing to do would be to post the broken one on craigslist for 75% of it's new value with the assertion that they can get it replaced under warranty.

I’ve had pawn shops try to tell me that shit with Snap On tools priced like 90% of MSRP, assuming you can take a Snappy Dual 80 ratchet with a torn up soft grip and if you see a Snappy Rape Van at a stoplight, go run up to it and the guy will give you a brand new $120 ratchet like it’s a Husky socket at Home Depot. Never gonna happen, and the most annoying part is the price for the abused one at the pawn shop is probably more than you would pay as a regular customer with a good rep since the tool truck guys always have some “15% off” sale going and whip out their calculator to make you feel like you’re winning.

I ignore pawn shops because I understand their business model. I don't even browse there.

I stopped in a handful of em because this shithole is like “Pawn shops and estate sales!” and realized they all pretty much suck. Even if I haggle them down, I’m paying for a used tool the same amount as if I waited for a good sale on a brand new one.

The only time I ever saw a deal that was worth it was a good condition Power Probe 4 but they had it listed as a Power Probe 3 with the price tag of a used 3. So I went to the shop after work to snag it, and he said they had just transferred it to one of their other locations because it hadn’t sold yet, and I said frick it because now the time I would waste driving is less than the savings I would’ve gotten.

            How long are they?

I guess it depends what you’re working on normally. Maybe axle nuts or water heater anode, but it’s like one of those jobs that comes once a year maybe if you’re doing homeowner shit.

You fricking deserve evey bit of it, especially being one of the morons who bought their ratchetS Maybe if you try to attack them real hard on social media and Reddit, the places where they have the biggest following, that will get their attention and get you a replacement screwdriver.

Just use a quality impact gun. You people love to do everything the hard way just to cry about it later.
