Well for one, training once or twice a year in the military isn't enough to maintain actual shooting proficiency. The bigger issue is that you know the world is dangerous and yet refuse to arm yourself accordingly.

The VA home loan is useless if the housing market's shit. The GI bill only covers up to what the school considers a full time student which is generally 3 courses, so they only cover half a degree. Using your GI bill on trade school's a hidden option, but you're straight back in to working with lazy mexicans in charge of you, and you'll just get fired if you say some shit instead of raking sand.

Never served but I was close friends with 3 guys who saw combat: 1 offed himself about 5 years ago, and each of the other two had issues with pills when they got out. One OD'd and died, and the other got help and is finally starting to sort his life out. Noguns is way worse imo

The only time I think people who served and never deployed to combat are warranted some appreciation are ones who helped out doing humanitarian missions. Thats something that actually makes a difference. People who try and act like they are hot shit because the PMCSed some vehicles in the motorpool once a week and sat at the staff duty desk 7 or 8 times during their 3 year contract can get fricked.

Veterans are not inherently bad (nor good, it's simply what you are), and in fact, being both hasguns and a veteran means you, generally speaking, get brownie points here. You'll likely be asked about combat or the workings of weapons or vehicles.
Now, the noguns. There are many kinds of noguns. We will separate them by pro-gun and anti-gun.
There are many noguns who do like guns and wish to own them, but live in places they can't due to bullshit laws. They will likely say some stupid shit, but they're not antithetical to the board. Noguns veterans in this category are around the level of the average hasguns, give or take.
Now, the antigun noguns. These are usually off-boarders who seek to shit up discourse and shill for various political entities. They suck.
The antigun, noguns veterans are among the worst of the worst. They've used guns, but have turned away from the freedom they can be used to attain and preserve and seek to rob freedom from others. They're about as bad as antigun hasguns, the kind of people who are also shills, but belong to socialist gun clubs that fully plan to hand over their guns after violent rebellion against the Constitution (or they're just foreign richgays that want to feel power over their fellow man).
Overall, the question is missing the main point. The biggest distinction is not served nor neverserved, nor is it even (entirely) hasguns against noguns. It is pro-guns versus anti-guns, above all of these. If you're pro-gun, you're a cool guy. If you're anti-gun, you need to chop your balls off and die. From there, the distinctions are higher levels of gun heaven or lower levels of grabber-hell.
This seems to omit mehgun noguns and such, who don't care either way.
