late fall is the worst, everything is brown and nasty. summer looks the best, but it kills fatties if it gets too hot. maybe a cool spring day is a good middle ground
I don't mind late fall as long as it's not rainy. The cooler weather means longer, less strenuous hikes. I'm the opposite of a fatty, but I just don't do well in the heat. And I fricking hate mosquitoes.
anon the changing seasons are essential to my well being. I can't enjoy summer if there was no spring and there's no oddum around the corner. The variety is magical.
They're all the best. Each one is necessary, and I would hate to live somewhere without distinct seasons.
I couldn't enjoy one without all of the others.
>spring
Most beautiful, but we get ticks really bad here in spring and that makes it kinda sketchy. >Summer
It's hot, often too hot, horse flies and hornets everywhere, but worst of all is fire bans, which almost destroy my will to go out. >Fall
For a very brief window it is incredibly aesthetic here, the orange contrasting the evergreens in the forest, but later it gets kinda nasty >Winter
Very sexy when we get heavy snow, no bugs atall is huge plus, but having to put on my wintergear everytime i want to walk out the door is a huge pain.
Overall, i'm going to pick Spring. But if i could be more specific it would be hard to choose between late spring and early fall.
Yeah I agree about spring, everything coming back alive etc. is the most interesting time. but tourism isn't an issue here. Once summer hits though it's gonna be 95 degrees and 100% humidity for four months.
I hate summer weather. Also it's now drought time virtually every year so I have to watch everything I love die and wonder how many years it will be before it gets so bad it just never comes back. Sometimes summer feels like a months long panic attack, everything seems to be falling apart.
A really bad drought is pretty rare from year to year. Young plants can get scorched but generally its sort of like a green house things tend to grow well.
>Sometimes summer feels like a months long panic
This was essentially the case when i lived in a house that almost got burnt down in forrest fires every year. Really like clockwork i would get evacuated every summer. And that panic was justified because that house did end up burning down just a couple years after i moved out of it.
I like spring, but in the mountains "spring" can be in June or even July. Just whenever life kicks back into action is magical and always leaves an impression on me. The smells, all the animals, seeing areas buried in snow just months before is all so wonderful.
As an early riser, it's harder for me to go outdoors between November and February when the sun doesn't come up until nearly 8 am. By that time, all the normies are already out on the roads making driving a chore.
This morning, I'm going to be waiting another hour before starting my drive. Whereas in the summer I would already be on my outing.
Camping also sucks in the winter if you're a light sleeper because you'll be spending more awake in the dark.
>spring
Good when the snow melts, up until then it's shit >Autumn
All the bugs are fully grown and will make your life hell, also chance of snow >Winter
Snow >Summer
Mogs every other season by lightyears and it's not even up for debate
>Good when the snow melts
The good part of spring doesn't begin until Memorial Day or later in the northeast. Before then is mud season when you're constantly sinking into deep mudholes. It gets so bad in Vermont that many trails are closed for six weeks before Memorial Day.
>fall
Too cold and dark >winter
Too cold and dark and snowy >spring
Too cold and snowy >summer
Ideal: warm, sunny, not much snow
Summer. Everyone below this comment is coping
How do you summer lovers cope with bugs, mosquitoes and overly warm temperatures you cannot do anything about? A genuine question because I want to learn to enjoy summer.
So I live in probably one of the more hot humid places in the country and I spend alot of time in wetlands with alot of bugs. The heat and humidity you get used to over time... I know that's a bit of a cop-out answer but you eventually get where it doesnt really bother you. Once you get used to being covered in sweat all the time is 90% of it. I think its just what you grow up in. I occassionally travel and like the thought of the frigid cold but don't handle it very well tbqh. The bugs you just wear permethrin clothes and get used to them the best you can. Thin loose long-sleeves with a vent on the back is the way to go.
Summer is great because alot of the good flowers and wild fruits are coming in. But personally I prefer spring.
Probably not ideal but I firmly believe it is better than spraying DEET. Probably not as bad as the pharmaceutical wienertail most people consume weekly, or the air most people breathe everyday. Anyways it's better than being eaten alive by mosquitos imho.
Between the elevation and getting away from the urban heat island effect, it's never overly warm when PrepHole. Avoid hanging around water and carry DEET and mosquitos are a nonissue.
>it's never overly warm when PrepHole
Kek bullshit. I mean it's regional of course but it can get hot as frick in the summer in some places. As always you just have to get used to it. The same way people in other places have to just get used to miserable cold frigid temperatures for parts of the year.
Summer. Everyone below this comment is coping
Summer is actually the worst. It gets too hot and there's bugs everywhere. The only good thing about summer is that you can go swimming.
late fall is the worst, everything is brown and nasty. summer looks the best, but it kills fatties if it gets too hot. maybe a cool spring day is a good middle ground
But I like the bleakness of autumn ahead of the wonderland of winter
i'm not very gothic person, so i like the greenest times of the year

Please don't talk about the USA like that

Any time where it isn't below freezing.
Late spring, when the splendour of summer is yet to be in full flow, but the earth has warmed to a temperate clime and all the trees are fully awake,
Toss up between the 2nd half of spring and the 1st half of autumn. May, June, September, and October dunk on the rest of the year.
I love winter.

Late spring early summer
Spring, because it's the most ecologically interesting to me. Also it's before the summer tourism shitfest.

California?
autist
I'm the exact same.

We're friends now, anon.

That image is so horribly wrong I won't even read your post.

All are wonderful in their own ways. But I love early spring when there's still snow, but critters are starting to come out and it's 30 to 40 degrees.
Theyre all pretty rad anon
Up here it's Summer and Fall for me. Winter is long, dark, and cold. And spring is mostly just a muddy wet mess.
Ftfy.

At least you're not alone.
I like winter the best, but fall colors in Appalachia are unbeatable

Summer is the worst, it's too hot, you fricking gay woman. Enjoy going PrepHole 1 day per year when all the other non-outists like yourself do.
Stop living in the hot desert or humid swamplands if you hate summer so much. Move up north and get a boat.
i can tell that you never spend time at large mountains. Though I agree that other times of year are great too
they're all lovely in their own ways, but spring is probably the most annoying

Clothes laced with insecticide? That can't possibly be good to wear.

Winter>Spring>Summer>>>Fall
Everything about fall is awful. The shortening of daylight, lack of sunlight, cold rain, the greyness. Late fall is especially bad
Fall. Second would be winter but only if it's snowing or cloudy.
