I actually think that these look pretty good, acrually. Tight cuffs and a wide belt definitely contribute to a more practical/boarding party aesthetic. They'd look even cooler with puttees like pic rel.

I like the Bong uniforms too and the Royal Navy means a lot to them. I have positive memories of visiting the U.K. and going to Portsmouth when I was a kid and taking the boat tour past the Invincible and other warships before doing the tour of Lord Nelson's boat. School tour, had a British friend who convinced me that Stonehenge was boring so we got one of our teacher-chaperones to take us there.

Navy uniforms need to be white because they don't need to be camouflaged against anything except maybe the clouds on the horizon and they need to stand out if they fall in the dark deep blue water. This doesn't excuse homosexualy shorts and goofy hats though
