you mean moronic North Americans? i also brush my teeth in the morning because im not a dumbass that needs to brush his teeth before going to bed and after getting out of bed. burgers take the most showers and have the most "hygienic" routines, but still end up smelling like shit.

I wonder if this is because of the NHS. The deductible under the Affordable Health Act in the US is $8,000 and the monthly cost is $320 IIRC (I might be fricked up and $320 is the semi-annual cost I haven't looked in a while) either way I'm finishing school and just trying to not break something.

I have never encountered this in 40 years as a white person in North America.
        I shower before bed.
In the morning I'll sometimes have a wake-up rinse off.
        But usually not.

I've become a big fan of mid day showers now that I work from home. Highly recommended. Breaks up the day, freshmen you up just as that coffee boost starts to wear off, and you still feel pretty clean by the time bed rolls up.

Same. I took it out the pack to give it a test run. Says to leave in the sun for an hour(s) and that's how you could take a warm shower. Sure it came out frickin hot then I realized quickly that if I ever do use it I'm not gonna frickin shower in the middle of the dam day while it's still hella hot/warm. So if I use it in the late afternoon I'm just gonna have a Luke warm shower at most if not just cold. It's a great for what it is, cold showers ain't to bad when you got nothing.

That's not even the real shower stream coming down in the pic. The pic looks like a great shower. But irl it's just like using a water house with the shower tip nozzle or someshit you use. And then really when the water gets low so does the pressure and if your not fast in the shower like me and want to take your time and enjoy it literally and figuratively haha. Then your gonna end up rinsing off with a drizzle or have some one re fill it for you and then your really gonna be taking a cold shower. Less your smart enough to fill it with warm water from a pot all to begin with then you ain't gotta worry about shit just where that water flows down and out or it its gonna leave a puddle of mud that you gotta jump over all naked and shit hahaha

I usually just don't shower unless I stumble on one at a campground or rec center or something. On longer road trips I try not to go longer than a week without one, usually not hard to find. Doesn't really bother me to go a few days without showering when I'm just by myself all day every day as long as I don't feel sweaty or sticky when going to bed, and I'm usually in the mountain west so it's never warm and muggy at night. I'll wash all my shit when I get home.

I keep something like this in my car, spray painted it black and it gets sorta lukewarm in the sun. You can find one at any big store really. A single shower doesn’t even use much water, maybe a third of a tank. It’s great for cleaning, been too many use cases to not consider it a mainstay in my trunk. If you can find a metal one that would be preferable so you can heat it in a fire or engine block.
Generally a bar of soap is all I need, I keep my hair short and haven’t used shampoo in years. The chemicals in most shampoo make hair fall out and give dandruff I suspect. A bottle of cologne or perfume helps.
When hiking in the woods do as the birds do: roll in dirt. Mix some ash in from a campfire, it will kill bacteria on your body.

When my bro was living in a tent on an abandoned orchard he had a steel bucket with a shower faucet welded to the bottom, would chuck it on the embers of the fire until it was warm then hang it from a sturdy tree branch with a rope and hook for a warm shower. Not very practical for a trip though

Wipes. Or use a small towel/rag with hot water and soap and dry yourself. I wish there was some ultralight 2l solar shower, or just a shower bag. Quick heat up of 700mL of water in my pot, pour in with cold water, bang, shower ready to go.

I try to camp as primitively as possible.
I love to travel light and where we live there is ample access to water so I can get away with it just carrying purification tablets.
    >medium pack 45L or less
    >bedroll is pad + blanket
    >jacket is my pillow
    >bivy is waxed canvas like my dad had in scouts back in the 60s, wrapped around my bedroll keeps it dry and clean
    >milsurp gunbelt, suspenders, canteens and pistol holster
The only creature comfort I obsessively carry are these wipes.
    They're fricking amazing.
I've had a lot less PrepHole related skin drama since I started using them as well.

Mostly I don't bother, if anything I'll pack out wet wipes. There are biodegradable ones that aren't any more expensive than normal ones, get them unscented. Also good for shitting. Just pack them out if you get normal ones or cat hole them if they are degradable.

Beyond that I change clothes at night, I keep my socks fresh, and when I find good clean running water I rinse gear assuming it has the opportunity to dry. Maybe a camp shower would work for car trips in one spot, but personally I have never bothered.
