that anon was probably being a bit harsh. they're perfectly fine guns. not exceptional but good, some people act stupid when it comes to Model 39s so it's more the sour reputation by association than anything else.
It's a big chunky DA/SA pistol with a slide mounted safety from a time where there were a lot of chunky DA/SA pistols with slide mounted safeties. It's not terrible or anything, but it doesn't really stand out and I personally despise slide mounted safety/dewienerer setups (much prefer a frame mounted safety that's easier to reach, doesn't add shit on the slide and allows me to wiener/lock it if I want to), but others might not mind them as much.
These used to be $300 guns all day before some poorgay got one and coped hard enough for everyone else to want one too.
I remember being a kid, watching x files reruns and thinking "what's that moronic looking 1911 knock off they're all using?". Now 20 years later, they are the epitome of "soul" lmao

in the first season he used a PT92 and a Glock. in season 2 he switched to a 226. in season 3 both moulder, scully and skinner carry 5906's rest of the show he has a 226.
excessive weight , piece of shit plastic grip, thickness of the grip, mediocre trigger, stupid location of dasa lever all that was outdated years by the time of the 3rd gen, glock made them obsolete and never mind comparing them to subcompact 9mm
Mediocre. Not bad nor exceptional, much like their revolvers it's a solid if basic handgun that will last you a good while. Triggers aren't fantastic but they're far from bad. Mag safety is moronic. Sights are pretty alright. 6-7/10
Mag safety is gay and moronic. The full steel ones are heavy as shit but that weight makes them a great shooter. They definitely go for way too much online for what they are.
>Lights on handguns are useless outside of police use
identifying targets is pointless outside of police use? >Optics on handguns are cringe
pure emotion >Suppressors on handguns are useless
other than making them quiet, also compensators exist btw
Really want one. The only one I've seen in person though looked like a Black person used it as a doorstop, and the ship still wanted 800 bucks for it. Sad, but had to pass on it.
They look cool as frick and are still cheap in Evropa. Problem is, loicenses ain't cheap and plentiful and I know jack shit about these. If you could only have a few handguns, would you buy one?
It's mags fit in everything
including my butt
frick each other stuck right now
gun
They are thoroughly mediocre but the "MUH SOVL" brigade talks them up as the best thing ever and now they sell for moron prices on GunJoker.
What about them do you consider mediocre?

pretty sick mate
5906 in a shoulder holster is an amazing set up in my opinion

It's just a good solid pistol.

Trash, hence why they stopped making them 30 years ago.
>no optic mount
>no light mount
>no threaded barrel
whats the point?
All Unnecessary trash that adds weight
>adds weight
t. someone who says 'lift more' when people complain about a guns weight
Lights on handguns are useless outside of police use
Optics on handguns are cringe
Suppressors on handguns are useless outside of extreme niche use cases and still greatly worsen shooting dynamics
Please keep non gun objects off of guns
>Lights on handguns are useless outside of police use
identifying targets is pointless outside of police use?

you're a puritygay who hates new popular thing
Billy the kid didn't need any of that useless bullshit.
none of that existed when he was alive.
So good they havent been made since last millenia.

If you're near San Antonio I have a 5946 I'm trying to part with
I really like the 39 series, especially the early ones but I'd prefer a Ladysmith, NL or otherwise.
That frame is just sexy
Used to have one. Was a fine 9mm pistol, but heavy by today’s standards. Wouldn’t mind owning one again. Pissed I let it go for $200 in 2008
Stupid heavy. Still never selling mine.
They look cool as frick and are still cheap in Evropa. Problem is, loicenses ain't cheap and plentiful and I know jack shit about these. If you could only have a few handguns, would you buy one?
Beats the hell out of anything hk makes and the tupperware clones.
Can you people please stop posting guns with slide safeties? It's fricking cringe.
Looks like a gun to me
Guilty
I have a 915 and it is significantly lighter than it’s pappy the 5906. Shoots just as smooth and serves great as my glovebox gun.
