Why act so smug and superior? Is it because you are so pleased with yourself over being able to answer a softball question?

A stupid question merits a condescending answer.

I don't like accusing people of projecting because I think it's massively overused as a rhetorical crutch, HOWEVER, when people accuse other people of having specific mental disorders more or less apropos of nothing, it tends to say a lot more about the accuser than the accused.

nobody likes buttholes. Specially smug ones. Legit questions are always welcome and OP is certainly one if you have not seen how much they vibrate when they shoot

I can't speak for that anon, but when I give answers like that the purpose is to point out just how stupid the question is. It's not about making me look good--I expect anyone to have been able to answer the question, so it's not like it's worth bragging about knowing the answer. Instead it's expressing shock that someone else doesn't know it.

it absolutely is not obvious if you have never seen footage how it shoots without one

          >Because the person asked a question with an amazingly obvious answer
To a layman it's not obvious since plenty of autocanon designs don't need that kind of support, including soviet ones

It's extremely obvious regardless of whatever other things that exist. An actual not obvious question would be why they went that route with that particular design, but that wasn't the question.

Like it's normal to get your garden variety dunning-kreuger spergs who argue transparently incorrect positions out of a misplaced sense of pride, but we only get to antagonize legitimately crazy people every once and a while here so we're making the most of it.

Shit thread so I'll hijack it, these guns on the Ukrainian RWSs are usually 2A72s right? 2A72s are long recoil operated so the barrel has to move, how is the barrel secured in the brace then? Does the brace use rollers or what?

Have to run wires out in front of the muzzle to talk to muzzle velocity and round programming etc. gear. Those wires can't touch the barrel and need external protection as well.
