It sounds like the mood around the house might improve, yes. Sort of like how when that guy shot his neighbors for crossing the street to dump snow in his yard that neighborhood became a more polite society.

Texans are now and have always been complete shitboxes. Black people from the ghettos in texas are way cooler than the guy who owns a ranch and drives a cadillac. Texas mcmansion neighborhoods are exactly the same level of violence and shitty behavior as Ohio or California trailer parks. Peple boast and brag and can barely move, or speak. T?he mexicans are slimmer. Texas Crips are nicer because criplord murders mothers don't let them talk the way a white texas grandmother talks after sucking wieners down at the saloon. Had a similar thing when my grampa came to live with us. He was a veteran of some war somewhere and was always walking around in the house with a 1911 saying he it was "his watch" because none of us had been suitably trained.
It got to where I would just walk out of my room and he'd go into some crazy stance with his hand over his gun and yell
    >HALT
    Frickin guy was a menace.

So we implemented a radio check system where I'd call in from my room for permission to go to the kitchen or whatever.
    >Shortpants 2 requesting permission for kitchen travel
    He'd call back
    >Acknowledged shortpants 2, hold for clear
then some minute or two later call
    >Shortpants 2 cleared to kitchen

It worked pretty ok and was far less demeaning than the patdowns.

    >cop dad confronts intruder as any good neighbor would
    >intruder wearing all black with hood up, goes for wasitband, cop dad shoots, duder dead

nta but this is unironically how it all works now and I find it really fricking weird. And it's not like I was in school THAT long ago, I'm in my 40s, yeah I'm officially "middle aged" but it hasn't been 50 years either. Yet things have changed fast, now everything is
        >"omg kids will be so TRAUMATIZED"
and I unironically think it's worse then the old ways. I mean sure, have some counselors in school that students can safely go to if they want to chat with a professional, but there is no need to convince kids who see no problem that no they must be emotional about it either.

          Anonymous

I don't know what the old ways were like, but I lost my mother at the end of fifth grade and there was a ton of pressure from the school once I started middle school to join a support group after school with other kids who had lost parents. They never actually forced me to but it was pretty bizarre that they could let me deal with it how I wanted to.

            Anonymous

The issue is that, statistically, most people who lose a parent do not deal with it well and end up going down a shit path in life. It's a good thing that kids are pressured a tad to try and help themselves, it's bad when "help" is forced onto them.

My whole social studies class saw the second plane strike the WTC on live TV back in the day and we only got the rest of that day off from school. The next day was just business as usual. No "therapy" or "support group" shit at all. Crazy to see how stuff has changed.

I wonder if the social expectation to be traumatized is the reason there seems to be more mental issues in the newer generations. It doesn't help everything is overdiagnosed, but hey gotta keep making up ailments to sell cures for!

You can't get within 400ft without a police dog alerting on any family (including wild or wandering large animals) by sound, vibration, sound, who knows, just does? One hundred percent. Self-actualization is the most basic drive for teenagers, and that means becoming what you're "supposed" to / expected to become. Tell a teenager they're a depressed autistic transsexual with anxiety and guess what they're going to try to be.

Some researchers ran the numbers at some point and realized that on any forum about 95% of the posts are from a very small fraction of the actual site population. Majority of everyone everywhere is lurkers or only one-time/rare posters.

        You're not wrong, however
        >59 IPs
Just imagine how many lurkers there are. And we're still a speck of dust compared to the major platforms.

Even if you actively post all day every day, you're not going to post in every thread you see. Hell, not even in the majority of threads you see.

Yep, no matter where I go to /K/ there are some people I see in every thread.
        >"frick ya mudda" guy
        >about two guys who love negligent discharges and jerk each other off with their fake stories.
        >Those guys trying to insert religion in every thread, I think its the same 3 or 4 guys.
        >That guy who hates 10mm, calling you a nogunz and if you post a gun he'll whine about how your gun doesn't count.
        >That guy in every suppressor thread who gets mad if you call it a silencer despite people pointing out that thats what the creator (Hiram Percy Maxim) called them.
        >The guy who calls everything a slide thread, "oh you're talking about edc weapons? SLIDE THREAD!"
        >Don't even get me started on the knife thread guys, I think its the same 6 to 8 people making sure that there are 2 blade threads every day.

          For me, its
          >The phoneposter who refuses to use // when referring to boards
          >the underage guy who capitalizes board names
          >the tourist who uses - bulletpoints interchangeably with greentexting

            >>the tourist who uses - bulletpoints interchangeably with greentexting
In my defense (and the two other people who do so) its either using the (>) or using that hated "reddit spacing" that'll make the newbies shit a brick.

I just don't understand why people come to /k/ and do not respect that board is for gun owners first and foremost.
You all the other boards, reddit and twitter to be a gungrabber.

Yeah, literally every other place. Coming here is just dumb - especially with low quality nonsense. At least make an effort to send something better. This is insulting.

    >Invest in a lock
This didn't even happen but that part pisses me off the most. The frick is a lock going to do when Jamal and Jèsus decide to smoke you and your golden retriever for your TV and whatever is in the fridge? Get them angry that they had to pick it in 7 seconds instead of 3? Convince them to do the smart thing and start with a bedroom window and entry frag instead of walking through the door like they're thieves in a fricking movie? I don't get how lefties think like this. If I'm an Alabama tranner and existentially worried about Cleetus and Co. lynching me for buying out all the blahaj again, I'd want myself and my community armed, not reliant on the "qualified government experts" who are in a strawman quantum superposition of being infallible demigods above civilian scrutiny and being compromised neo nazi tyranny fetishizing bootlickers.
