        I dunno man, I'm more a pistol guy. I have 3 AR's, and my 3 bcg's are:
        >some no name that came from some shitty company that doesn't exist anymore that I bought during the AR gold rush a couple years after the AWB expiration. It might be a toolcraft, it might be shit. It only has like low hundreds rounds on it and has worked fine
        >Spike's Tactical which is almost definitely a tool craft and works fine with the ~2000 rounds on it
        >Alpha shooting sports which has hit or miss reviews. I only ever took it to an indoor range once to test out, Probably less than 100 rounds

I just want 1 rock solid bcg in my main gun to not have to worry about some garbage bcg fricking up in a real, not at the range, situation. It doesn't have to be some overpriced shit, but looking around everything recommended was the typical KAC and LMT shit. Feel free to shit on me for my poor decisions.

If you are running your gun suppressed I can recommend the gemtech suppressed bcg. It really is a difference on the suppressed setting. Sage Dynamics has a video on it too from the time when je wasn’t a paid shill. Also runs perfectly unsuppressed.

How does this suppressed setting work?I've been thinking about getting a surefire bcg or lmt bcg because I heard their modifications work really well for suppressed use, but haven't heard about the gemtech one

        Anonymous

Hard to explain. You basically have a larger vent channel that allows more gas to escape so the internal piston doesnt open as violently. The gasses are vented out of the ejection port but for the life of mine I cant explain why you actually feel that there is less gas coming out and into your face.

And you can switch to the normal setting in which not as much gas is vented out there. Its basically normal operation.

If money and availability aren't an issue, then I'd say LMT enhanced. Maybe not the enhanced carrier, but def the enhanced bolt.
BCGs that go beyond the milspec TDP:
      Scionics NPC
      Forward Controls
      TDP milspec BCGs:
      Scionics (phosphate)
      DD
      LMT standard bcg

      Surefire obc
If money is no object switch the bolt itself for an ebolt since the obc uses a standard milspec bolt, all the magic is in the carrier

Obc is objectively the best carrier when used with it's custom buffer, and if you want to make the ultimate bcg possible put a lot ebolt in it

      Anonymous

      Surefire.
Made by Sullivan himself as an improvement on the AR.
The problem is that its very expensive and not always available.

        Anonymous

        >Add more mass
        >Make the buffer smaller
HURRR DUURRRR It shoots softer! (Results and experiences may vary). I hate you morons with a burning passion. AR BCG have to remain within a very specific spec to work with the AR platform. You can't add too much, you can't change too much and you can't take away too much. Any and all changes to BCGs are superficial and theoretical at best.

Noveskes are still in stock everywhere I have looked and I like mine so far. What are you looking for in a BCG besides: doesn't frick up feed, it seats the shell, it goes boom, and it extracts and ejects the casing?

Looking for a company that has proven over time to not cut corners and frick up heat treating, companies that last the longest before catastrophic failure like the carrier cracking at the cam hole. Shit like that mainly. Np3 and stuff is cool not just for cleaning but as your rifle cruds up and heats up while shooting the extra lubricity aids function.

I'm not saying it's "the best", but I have a Faxon BCG and it's been great so far. It's got a nitride finish and they chamfered the bolt lugs. No idea how big of a difference that makes, but it's been good. I'm shooting it in a rifle length gas so it's very soft-shooting to start with.

Yeah he said they mainly use DD and sometimes LMT. Anything else wasn't cost effective. Cheaper bcgs would break so fast it wasn't even worth it. A $200 DD bcg is the most cost effective in the long run.

DSA makes them. They're like $100. KAC "muh muh fuggin sandcutter SCIENCe & INNOVATION TM" is literal midwit nonsense on full display. Rounded lugs and small pin carrier is from LMT's crane program too lmao.

KAC was the shit in 2008 back when no one (realistically) had all the upgrades in one ready to go package. Today? Nah.

So what bolt has rounded lugs and a smaller cam pin?

        Anonymous

Pre crane contract LMT enhanced bolt. Cam pin resize dropped at Crane's request for backwards compatibility.

Lots of improved bolts out there now if you're talking current year.

They literally (correct use not hyperbolic) made less than 20 guns over covid per mandatory manufacturing reporting requirements by the ATF. ATF posts that data on their website free for you to view.

KAC basically doesn't exist as a civilian gun manufacturer. They're Colt 2.0 but 1000x worse.

Best stand alone companies would be something like Sharp or Lantac. From there you have your name brand companies like KAC, LMT. I'm not an expert, but I have 3 different ones. A phosphate from Brownells, a Nitride from IwI and a Nickle Boron from Lantac and the Lantac one is many times better. Smoother, more cuts, port vents are faced forward to redirect gas and the gas key is chrome lined. By rule, go with price. The more expensive the better, $250+ but make sure you research before buying.
