Use it for ... everything. Lotta people don't want to admit Dremels replace every tool in your shed due to sunk cost fallacy/a false sense of machismo.
every tool definitely not, but every time i need to do some fricked up shit that no other tool seems usable, the dremmel saves the day
fiddly shit, cramped up spaces, etc.
Yeah, I need a *cordless* dremel when I go off-grid camping with my dungeon master and need to carve some new figurines, or when I’m in my unfinished attic with no outlets (and I have this religious issue with extension cords) carving my personal secret D&D figurines.
i have the same model. for me it's basically a tiny cutting wheel you can wield with precision. very useful and there's no substitute as it will cut through metal that a hacksaw can't
While awesome, that's not a justifiable purchase for me.
I don't use my Dremel nearly enough to think "hmm I need to spend several hundred dollars on a better one of these."
Dremel fits firmly in that "it works well enough" category.
Usually for cutting or trimming metal.
Sometimes for grinding metal.
I've also used it for drywall.
Use it it a lot less now that I have an angle grinder and GOOD tin snips. Same happened after the bench grinder got installed... Small jobs get paper, big stuff goes to the wheel. So I guess I could recommend one to small apartment dwellers like I was when I got mine.
I 3d printed a fixture to go over the top of mine and put a diamond wheel on to sharpen tungsten for my TIG welder. Have used it to cut seized screws that a blow torch or extractor couldnt help with also. They are a pretty decent tool for the $50 or whatever they cost.
it becomes a real tool its really handy for polishing small parts. when you have a whole horsepower you can do work unlike the weak ass toys people love on this site
I got the flex extension thing and idk if it's fricked up or what.
I press the button to stop the head momentarily and it grinds then stops, and then the dremel itself makes a sound that sounds like I'm fricking something up inside it.
I tried to take the flex head off once and it shit a bunch of green grease out as I was unscrewing it. So I left it on and idk what to do.
Saw something on AliExpress that was one of these that was corded… but with USB A to a barrel connector, no cell inside. How likely is that to compare to a regular 4v, single cell rechargeable versus be absolutely worthless? It has to be using USB PD or somehow getting over the basic 2A right?
Certain models of the Ryobi 18V dremel look dope, like pic related. I almost snagged one multiple times when they had sales but I already have a regular Dremel and an old Craftsman version.
The father in law had this cordless Dremel that was trash, I remember it had the power/speed knob on the bottom and it had zero balls. Looks like that model mostly got replaced, but even with 4V lithium models, they probably bog down a lot when you inevitably lean into it.
Works great for applying a lot of power into small places I mostly use the small cutoff wheels and felt wheels with chromium oxide to polish metal. Cordless tools at shit and have no balls.
I've kinda come to hate my Dremel. Its always either too much or too little for the job at hand. I either should have used a more forgiving manual small hand tool or needed a fricking driver or drill. I'm starting to think they are memes
i use it mostly for this
the speeds are honestly low enough that my chin and cheeks defeated them with ease
i am building up my strength, moving onto a small die grinder next which would probably hurt had i not gotten used to dremel cutoff wheel flakes. >then onto the 4.5" angle grinder >then the 9" wildcat angle grinder >then my 3-phase 3HP 12" pedestal grinder
Repairing and sealing cracks in windshields at a car wash you pay 500 a month to talk to everyone at and charge 60 per repair averaging at 6 repairs per day. I've sold 17 in one day.
I use mine for small wood crafts and drilling small holes into things. I've used them to put holes into PCBs I've ordered.
I don't have the space for a belt sander, sorry.
Is there a training academy where you idiots learn how to make worthless threads.
I learned to do it myself and this is a top 10 thread easy

Yeah I just cleared 5 acres of brush with mine.

its a toy
the real boys use pendent motors

>What's it for, what do you use it for
It's a shitty die grinder. I don't use it, because I have an actual die grinder.
there are cases when smallee blade is useful
is this bait

Literally used it only once when I stripped a phillips head screw and cut a slot in it so i could use a big flat head.
Idk, people rave about them but not that useful in my experience
if you get

Slits for custom screws, convenient alternative to scraping straight edges/surface plates etc., cutting tiny things, budget tool post grinder ...

i don't know what to type here but i hope you're having a good day 🙂

I think the only thing I’ve ever used mine for is to carve out part of a door latch that wasn’t latching right.

I use it to make NYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEE sounds at night to piss off the neighbors
>NNNYYYYYEEEEEE
Or you kidnap and try to rape a russian girl, youll get the same sounds.

I find it works great for launching cut off disc shrapnel directly into my face at high speeds
At least I'm not the only one. I had one shoot right at my eye once. Thank god I had goggles on

soon i will be able to defeat any tool
for cutting small stuff, for cleaning old things, to smooth things

Stay away from cordless heat guns but dremels are fine
> heat gun = no
So I guess cordless arc welders and plasma torches are completely out of the question, eh?
