Then Russia would nuke them back. Mutually assured destruction is real, there will never be a nuclear war. They would much sooner fight a conventional war than risk the entire populations of the US, Europe and Russia

seriously wish they had done the C&C red alert parachute drops not just fly in helicopters and land. at least do some cool air assault shit and fast rope down.
They die from adverse conditions due to a lack of supplies. US sends their top forensics team to find out wether the russian invasion actually happened.
It would probably be more of a humanitarian disaster than an actual military threat. Hopefully aid workers could get to the VDV before they starve to death, freeze or get murderaped by slednecks.
We'd send in AC-130's escorted by F-22's to provide fast strike and air cover. Any ground AA will be hit by the 22's, followed by B-52 carpet bombings using 500 or 750lb dumb bombs. AC-130's would provide eyes and depleted uranium.
Ground troops move in from Pendleton via V-22's by the thousands to make sure the earth is scorched.
The almighty S-400 cant even manage to intercept aliexpress tier drones, I don't think the RCS of an F-35 will be an issue for Russian AA. Seems to me the F-22 would be better utilized intercepting whatever aircraft attempts the laughably foolhardy idea of ever trying something like that.
Where would they even land? >Anchorage
And then what? Get mobbed by tens of thousands of armed snow hillbillies while fighting for a meaningless (not even top 100 in population) US metro area? >Literally anywhere else
And then what? Take over the 80 person Native village they dropped into and then starve to death? Hike for two months (over horrible terrain) from northwestern coast to.... Anchorage? I suppose they could make a cheeky move for Prudhoe oil field but I'm thinking the US Military would have something to say about all that.
Even if you kicked Alaska out of the US, took back all of our military personnel/equipment and made them fight Russia with just civilians and maybe their National Guard, Russia would struggle mightily to invade that land. They'd probably just seize the oil up north and ignore the rest of the state.
Maybe try and control oil facilities if there are any? We’d probably be weary to bomb them and destroy them, also potentially attack the bases there,I don’t know what the troop numbers look like there and they’re probably not expecting a large heavily armed force to assault their positions while they try to gear up quickly and repel them with whatever gear they have there’s a possibility they could break through the defenses there if they were a heavily armed assault ground force and we couldn’t use air munitions on the base
It’s all irrelevant because they couldn’t hold it long term but its theoretically possible, most likely impossible though
There's enough troops in AK that the US Army actually reactivated the 11th Airborne Division in order to provide a better HQ unit for all of the disparate subunits in the state. And that's not counting the 11th Air Force. which includes F-22s and F-35s.
The population of alaska would collectively nut in their pants and make vietnam look likr a welcoming parade. The entire state is a militia, half the population has a gun and the other half has an unregistered gun.
I'm not sure the us military would even make it up there before the last vdv trooper was finished being violated by an off the grid redneck lunatic.
Alaska is one of the most heavily armed parts of the nation.
It's filled with Bears, trees, meth choked hillbillies, psychotic natives and harp seals with plans for world domination.
There were never many VDV to begin with, they would drop in with what numbers they had, try to dig in only to take part in the national pastime of "frick the ruuskie" as pickup trucks, ice flows and ICBHarpseals come in for the newest cheeks to clap.
How would they manage it without the buildup being seen? I doubt the Russians has the road and rail network to send enough supplies east to maintain the invasion. They don't appear to have enough highways or rail east of Vladivostok to supply it. Unless Russia plans to conduct resupplies via the sea which I doubt the Japanese are going to allow unmolested or at the very least elbow the USN at Yokosuka and go, "You seeing this shit?"
If they manage to land troops I would imagine they would start to starve after a few days and their foraging groups to start disappearing. Any land movement getting bogged down by the weather and muddy roads making it easier to get shot. Night sentries getting kidnapped and then raped in the ass by lonely dudes...or carved up by crazy people who want questions answered like A "Where the hell is the sun?" or B "Why won't the evil daystar let me sleep?" Hell I bet every subsequent landing is going to have an audience of said people who is either going to be stroking themselves with one hand and holding a rifle with the other. While their new friends from the lower 48 is pacing back and forth sleep muttering to themselves about having no sleep. That's all before the US army decides to drive up from Washington state, through Canada and into Alaska.
>What would realistically happen if the VDV tried to land an invasion force in Alaska?
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084919/
In 1987, Soviet paratroopers drop into Alaska to sabotage the oil pipeline in retaliation against a United States grain embargo. A skirmish occurs at a pumping station, lightly defended by Col. Jake Caffey and a National Guard recon unit. A stalemate ensues while the possibility of World War III hangs in the balance. The danger escalates as the Soviet premier and the U.S. President play a cat-and-mouse game.
Honestly they'd probably make landfall no sweat because there's no reason we'd expect them to actually do it. The 11th airborne division would head out to make contact while we figure out what the frick they are up to. Meanwhile, a dozen subs would drop what they were doing and along with 1 metric assload of fighters would make sure the VDV never saw resupply again. Probably the closest CSG or ARG would head up there as well.
Once their air defense capabilities are taken care of they'll just be bombed into pieces by a never ending carousel of B52s while our troops watch from an appropriately safe distance.
They'd be shot down by the Navy/USAF
they'd get nuked before they crossed the bering strait
Then Russia would nuke them back. Mutually assured destruction is real, there will never be a nuclear war. They would much sooner fight a conventional war than risk the entire populations of the US, Europe and Russia
fafo
whats fafo?
>the absolute state
ngmi
farting asians frick off
>he doesn't know nukes and MAD are obsolete
They'd land in the Bering Strait.
That's water though.
They'd water in the Bering Strait.
yes
seriously wish they had done the C&C red alert parachute drops not just fly in helicopters and land. at least do some cool air assault shit and fast rope down.

Second amendment would happen
larp
They would get mauled by Grizzly bears and the survivors hunted for sport by psycho Alaskan rednecks.
there only chance is a more remote landing but realistically they would easily be trapped and become prisoners

wouldn't the F-35 work better than the F-22 for dropping bombs?
Probably because it can paint its own laser for GBUs. But F22's have a smaller RCS and the AC-130H can paint it for them.
F-35 have a smaller RCS fyi.
Maybe I'm moronic but I don't see why RCS is relevant if the aircraft painting for it isn't even stealthy.

It would be absolutely banan.
VDV literally doesn't exist anymore to monkey pootin.

Alaskans would get real AKs, PKPs and the US would finally get AS Val parts kits
God imagine all the parts kits and 'surplus' ammo
Not to mention how it would repeal all gun laws both in the US and in Canada
I wish russians did it
pretty certain there wouldnt be many extra parts kits, but tons of "accidentally forgot about barn finds" for years to come.
I'm sure more then a few would be willing to try to make a few bucks off selling shit to the 'mainland'
They'd just die in the trackless half million square miles because GPS doesn't always work that well at high latitude.

Then they fricking freeze to death.
they'll be devoured by Alaska's true first line of defense
Russia has those too.
More than likely starve or freeze to death before reaching any significant settlement due to how shitty their equipment and rations are.
