Its a semi-disposable target barge. I'd be surprised if they get any sort of maintenance.

Apparently these things are still in production.

why does this stupid bridge even matter anymore when they have captured territory that allows them to not even need it anymore?

      Anonymous

because a bridge hundreds of miles from the front line is more useful than a road tens of miles from the front line

      moron

Because they can't hold that territory in the long run

Did they uhhh, tie the boat to a rock? Doesn’t it have anchors like every other boat?
Either way, Russia has been acting very paranoid about this bridge lately. Too bad moscova isn’t around to provide air protection:(

does ukraine even want to hit the bridge? would almost be like admitting to writing off crimea, but I suppose if they actually were to get anywhere close to recapturing it the russians would probably blow up the bridge anyway

Ukraine doesn't need a bridge to Russia if they're intending to take Crimea, the only reason they could leave it up would be to give the Russians a place to retreat too but knowing the Monkey King he'd set up troops on the other side of the bridge to arrest any Russians who tried to retreat.

Why are Russians suddenly so afraid of Ukies destroying that bridge?

Because HIMARS can and without bridge Crimea cannot be part of Russia

But none of the shit they're doing will help them against a barrage of HIMARs?

Well yeah, it's just a copecage but for bridges.

Cope cage at least had a benefit of making the crew feel safer as they didn't know how fricking useless that shit was. These measures only make everyone shit their bricks.

The general has probably been ordered to protect the bridge from attack, but hasn't been told what kind of attack. So, like a good general, he will prepare for all possible scenarios.

Or worse case, he hasn't been informed that Ukraine now has HIMARs, so is still working from the soviet vs soviet playbook.

It looks weird, but if those are radar reflectors, it may be a decoy target for radar guided missiles, like ASMs.

They are preparing to feint Kherson so defence of the bridge will become a priority
